I like how as a character in the end Adam realizes and you can sense that he really does feel bad for them, but hey…gotta do right for your people so fuck dem scaley freaks in the end amirite!? >.> anyways lol I’m gonna be playing gears for a couple hours lemme know if you wanna get in on it.
P.S: anyone got the skinny on the queen and why she appears so human? That felt like an unclosed chapter in the end.
P.S.S:Shout outs to saying “in the end” way too much @.@
But the problem is that those scaley freaks were underground, minding their own business, and not hurting anyone until imulsion forced them out of their home and thus started the war with the humans. Adam could have said something to prevent the war but he didn’t because he thought he knew the solution. But he ran out of time and completely fucked over the Locust (and humans to some degree) for not saying anything.
It is very understandable why the locust acted so hostile, im sure humans would do the same thing if they were put into their situation.
I agree totally lol, that sounds like average human rationalization “oh we got this don’t alert the masses… oh wait we don’t…about those Locust guys…er watch out holes from the ground! escapes away to sexy private island surrounded by maelstroms”.
I thought the Queen was Marcus’ Mamma for a while, I even figured it’d be one of those things shown at the end, especially considering his Dad’s relationship to her over the series but whatever, she was just there to be a dumb bitch in the end.
Fuck that! the locus coulda come up to the surface peacefully or some other way instead of killing every thing!
they fucked it up for themselves and I don’t feel a bit of remorse for their fucked up actions and leadership.
The locus are cool but they aren’t to be reasoned with after e-day
there should be another gears where it explains what happenes and if the locus tried to contact the humans
there could be a locus king but I doubt it… I think there were more like bees than having a royal family (which would be cool too)
naaah, Im glad she wasn’t the mom and fought till the end.
PS, good games… Those dudes were fuckin lames ass douches
Perfect ending would have been:
After Marcus stabs the queen and gives his speech about “this is payback for all the people you killed”, the queen suddenly pulls him up close, smiles and whispers: “Like mother like son”, chuckles a little and dies, leaving Marcus COMPLETELY mind fucked.
I like the mystery that still lingers around this character Queen Myrrah (*with her fine cougar-ish ass…hell yeah I’d pounce that too)…sometimes it’s more interesting to me when certain things are left unexplained. Heh, and it was such a great “payback” scene already just with that final stab and
eh in case someone STILL doesn’t know what happens for some reason.
Spoiler
“YEAH. FEEL THAT? IT’S FROM DOM.”
Hahah, sooo satisfying. It’s like the moment at the end of a major action movie when the crowd would go crazy, cheering the main character on with his final act of vengeance.
I dunno, I think the queen’s death needed… more. She was the main antagonist throughout all three games and she was even the narrator.
Plus I’m glad she turned out to be human with a nice ass.
Oh and I don’t consider her bombshell to be some deathbed confession, but more as one more spiteful jab before dying which would be match her personality perfectly.
The bitch crawled out of a burning giant beetle corpse to talk shit for crying out loud.
Eh…after Act 3 and the events that transpired afterwards I felt completely satisfied with how she got ended. When Marcus reached for the weapon he was going to use, I instantly flashed back to Act 3 was like ‘FUCK YEAH!’.
Shit, can we get some spoiler tags in this bitch? I’m replaying Gears 1 and 2 to remind myself of the story and going through Demon’s Souls before Dark Souls comes out tomorrow, I haven’t even put Gears 3 in my xbox yet. Working 10+ hour days, ain’t got much time to sit down and play.
Yes, I know it’s a Gears 3 thread, there’s more to discuss in here than the story line though. Give it about a month for folks who have to work all day.
No I’m pretty sure it was all just one big misunderstanding. Little timmy grubling just happened to stick his head up onto the surface to ask where the nearest bathroom was only to get curb stomped by the locals. That’s really that’s really what sparked the whole things…that or one of them asked for Grey Poupon and they refused.
I’m no expert on the Gears storyline, but I think it was the humans mining the imulsion that caused it to run amok in the locust’s home plus the constant human wars above ground probably didn’t help things either (with the increased imulsion demand by the military)
Genocide was already occurring in the Locust world and I think they were backed into corner before deciding to strike back. What the queen said at the end of Gears 1: “we will not stop, we CAN not stop” wasn’t some desire for world conquest, but it was more of a desperate attempt at survival.
It’s easy to view the locusts as blood thirsty evil monsters, but fighting for your very existence kind of brings out the worst in everyone, but even they didn’t willingly nuke millions of their own people for a strategic advantage.
You could be right. I just read Gearspedia and apparently the Locust initiated the attack because they were in a civil war with the lambent and were forced to go above ground. Instead of trying to negotiate with the humans they decided to wipe them out instead, believing the humans were too violent to even consider peace with them (irony!). I don’t know if Gearspedia is canon or not, but there you go.
Lol at Marcus giving the queen an Kratos beatdown.
