GOW is the reason i got a 360, and to this day i still play it. Its the only game that has kept my attention since it came out 4 360. I played through story mode 2ce, after that, allll multi player. This shit is too much fun.
I pre orderd and payed for this shit 3 weeks ago, 9 more days!!! This shit come out on a Friday, so there goes my weekend:lol:
Im excited about being able to use all grenades as proximity mines, its gonna make the online play alot deeper ( not to mention all the new weapons and upgrades. Stoping power might take some time to get used to but, i hope it makes the overall play better.
-On the topic of host advantage… Im glad they fixed it, not because i had a problem with it, simply because now ppl cant bitch about “host” anymore:arazz: I saw a slight advantage to ppl hosting (most annoying with the longshot IMO) but it really isn’t that bad! I think i might have hosted 1 match over the years i played gears and i never play on the host team once i have a choice and have had no problems get’n the most kills in matches:rofl: i like have’n to work for my shit, n some1 has to host so why bitch about?? Anyway, glad theres 1 less thing to listen ppl bitch about, but im sure there will be others.
One thing that really concerns me now that i think about it, is the grenades being taged into walls. Its gonna be for strategy be are they gonna be detectable??? A beep’n noise or something?? i guess i’ll find out in about a week.

Hey, I’ll add u to my friends since I’m (or was since I haven’t played after COD4 came out) pretty good. I don’t know how you could say that stuff about the host and there really is no point in making an argument when GOW2 is about to come out and have nothing to do with it. :bgrin:
But, from my experience the host was too good. Sure you’ll come across a few hosts who sucked but I remember one who was horrible when he had it and I just told him to aim. The dude starting owning the team by himself!:lol:

lol I have multiple friends that live near me playing full copies of the game. Box instructions and everything. One of em been playin it for a week and a half.
The leaks people are referring to are from torrent sites. The Xbox 360 versions of all major titles for the holidays have been leaking 2-3 weeks before their scheduled release date. Fallout 3, Farcry 2, Fable 2, and GOW 2 have all been leaked out to the masses well before schedule. If you have a modified system, you’re in luck.
Dunno,it just never really affected me unless some utterly wrong shit happened. Like 2 or more ppl unloading lancers into host and he just runs off, obviously only host can get away with shit like that…
The only real problem i had with host is that he can take more damage or live longer… Example, on the Garden, you know when you first start out and theres that room with the poison where you need to turn off the gas in order to pic up longshot… Well, if your host, when the round starts you can just run through the room clear to the other side without the poison killing you. If ur not host and u try that shit, u die, no questions asked. The advantage that give is host is able to pic up the boom in record time, n blow 2 ppl away when they get there like:wtf:
But ya, as u said its a non issue now… 8 more days, cant wait to see new death animations :lol:

I’ve had gears 2 since last monday I believe. Its hot (add me as a friend). The only thing I cant stand is that they changed the shotgun…

[details=Spoiler]The extra content begins at the beginning of chapter five. Marcus and co. are headed for the train station in the APC. Marcus questions the fact that the bomb is on a train. Anya explains that it’s due to a large imulsion pool. However, a drawbridge is up, and the APC is forced to stop. They leave to attempt to lower the bridge, but it doesn’t lower and they’re ambushed by locust.
Afterwards, you learn that some nearby power lines are damaged. Baird suggests that this was on purpose, and that the Locust are onto their plan. Marcus and Dom head to the power lines with Jack while Baird and Cole are to stay with the APC. Baird doesn’t like the plan, which causes Marcus to bark at him (“My squad, my rules” or something to that effect). Jack still has the Locust tunnel data from the Fenix estate, so he has to be protected. Dom comments on how Marcus’s father is about to end the war, and Marcus responds by saying some derogatory things about his father.
Anywho, as you advance, and take out some Locust swarms (including quite a few thankfully non-glowing wretches), the park where the power lines are located have flooded with Locust, and Anya says you should backtrack to the APC to find another route. Marcus instead continues and orders Baird and Cole to the other route. They meet up and take out some Locust in classis Gears of War fashion. At some point, the Brumak that was chasing you from the Fenix estate catches up, and Cole taunts it to get it away from Marcus and Dom, much to Baird’s disapproval. Marcus and Dom proceed under the streets, talking about how they may not make the train. Marcus says they have to or they’ll be running from “shit” like the Locust forever.
At some point, I forget when, Anya comments on how the train isn’t going to stop, and that Locust have boarded it. Which conveniently explains why there were so many on the train when you played through it on XB360. =)
Marcus and Dom end up in a building, fighting another swarm of Locust as Jack is repairing the power lines. Before you can kill the swarm, though, the Brumak appears in the distance, pummeling your location with machine guns and rockets. Marcus tells Dom to shoot the feet, and doing so slows the Brumak down. Eventually he reaches the building, but debris crumbles about the building, shielding you from the outside. (I’m not sure if I could have “failed” this scenario.) Jack rips open a door to let you out (he finished repairing the lines at some point). Marcus and Dom are forced to split up on the way back to the APC.

If you haven’t yet, I suggest you preorder the game at Circuit City. Not only will you get a $10 gift certificate, but you also get a card for 1600 MS points. Not too bad at all. Plan to use the gift certificate to get Left 4 Dead.

You split up in a theater, and learn that there’s a seeder blocking your transmissions. You have no Hammer of Dawn, so Marcus has to shoot the supports holding the stage in place to fall on the seeder (which doesn’t look like it would do much, but whatever). Whatever path you pick, Marcus has to do the shooting, though I imagine in coop Dom could as well. There are two troikas to deal with, to boot, and the encounter was rather difficult. Afterwards, Marcus and Dom each encounter a wheel in their respective paths to let the other through. They meet Cole and Baird behind the theater and are told to get down, as the Brumak is patrolling the streets.
The four head into a building, still unable to talk to Anya, and determine another seeder is still nearby. Up the steps and onto the rooftop, another locust horde and troika later, with the Brumak still visibly patrolling the streets, you reach a parkade higher up with a clear view of the seeder below. To kill it you man a troika and hit nearby propane tanks and a truck to ignite a leaking gas line. The seeder frantically runs around the street, eventually burning to death. A good laugh is had by all.
Anya tells you that the power grid is still not operational, and that you still have to head to the power plant to restore power to the drawbridge. Several locust encounters later, including wretches, therons, boomers, and plain vanilla grubs, and… I’m still not there and I have to leave. =( More later.[/details]

…finally reached the power plant. Dom and Baird head off in one direction protecting Jack, while Marcus and Dom head into the plant to get power back online. Naturally, there are therons. Baird tells you that it isn’t the Stranded tapping the grid (?), but the Locust, and they’re rerouting all the power underground. He’s working with Jack to fix the problem but needs you to access some panels. The Brumak is outside the plant and you can see it through the windows. Dom says “we’re screwed.” You find several valves that Baird needs but he then says they need something to connect two transformers. Your groups doesn’t have the tools… but Marcus thinks they can use the Brumak. He devises a plan to lure the Brumak to the transformers.
And now you fight the Brumak. You have take out its arm cannons first, and it fires them and “drunk missles” at you fairly liberally. Afterwards, you have to kill the Brumak’s driver by shooting the Brumak’s legs to lower him down, then killing the driver. That… ends the fight, and you get the Shock Therapy achievement (GoW Windows achievements count towards an XB360 profile GamerScore BTW). The Brumak is used to bridge the transformers, restoring power to the bridge and allowing the APC to the train station. Anya tells Marcus and co. that they’ve lost control of the train, and that they’ll need to leap onboard as it passes by the station, recapture the bomb, and deploy it, conveniently tying into the rest of chapter five.
You arrive at the train station, and from what I can tell the last chapter continues exactly the way it did on the 360.[/details]
I think they did away with the GC an just now offering the 1600 points.
