Is DC or PS2 japan Garou better and which one should be used for tournament?
the Ps2 version overall is better than the DC version, but the PS2 version still has some slight changes from the arcade version. But the DC version is still playable, just stay away from Terrys stage and you should be ok.
But it seems like when I JD something, the timing goes off a bit since its online, and it makes it harder to GC.
Think of all the times you’re almost POSITIVE to JD. Like after Dong qcb+K and I go for dp. Or after a blocked dp brake, then I go for another, you’ll always JD it. (if you don’t 360), or after a reset. During those times try a qcb or rdp for the JD motion, then hit the button you need.
Practice with those times to help with timing the GC itself and because of the lag. Then try for jumpins or other obvious attacks like wake up.
Take a dp with any character…
If it’s an obvious time, like wakeup or after a reset, just use a dp~db+P and the db is where you’d normally want the DP to come out (like right when they’re hitable) and you’ll JD and fast attack they go for, then GC DP.
Any tips on how to do cr.b -> dp (braked) consistently? I think it was Storm I was playing, and he could throw them out like it was nothing, then I went to practice them but its hard as hell to do on a pad.
^Try buffering it in like this:
F, D+B, DF+P/K it might work.
It does work that way but the thing you have to remember is press B before hitting df. You don’t need to press B wth df because you already have the motion stored, so the d + B still counts as dp + B when you hit df. Mainly because sometimes the B just karas into the DP instead of it actually coming out fully. You can also try d + B, neutral, dP + B/D, then break, try both methods and see which you prefer to do. Hope that helps.
See I thought that would work, but I tried and tried, and it just wont happen for me. Might work if I do a qcf+k instead of the dp, but then Id be screwed if it were blocked…
Edit: nvm, I got it down pretty much now. I find it easier to NOT buffer the motion for some reason…
bustin’ out two c.LK can help with the buffer (gives you more time like Ken and Dudley in 3s). Storm seems to mash it before the dp comes out.
I can’t seem to brake Marco’s (Butt’s) shoryuken type move. I’ve tried forever, but the stupid thing won’t do the cancel. What’s the timing on that thing?
Also, is the timing much harder on the original cartridge compared to Dreamcast? Because playing on a Neo Geo seems so much harder than DC.
Make sure youre braking when you hit your opponent, cause that move is hard as hell to brake on its own. After it connects, you let it pause for just a split second before you brake it.
Noc, whatever happened to that vid you were making?
For Marcos DP break the timings are different depending on which one you are doing, the dp + A or dp + C. It’s a lot easier breaking with the C version I think but the A versions timing is a lot more trict. Like already stated it’s easier breaking it during a combo, but just by itself is a lot trickier. As for the video the footage is all done but we don’t have a way of recording the footage off the emu. Seems like I’ll have to try doing it by VCR or some other way with Giby once he has some time off.
Hey Nocturnal whats the status on the Tutorial vid?
Read his post above yours.
I just read the whole thread again, and was wondering about Marco’s forward feint. It can be used to chain normal moves together, how useful is this? And what are the best ways to use it?
Lol I was post way early in the morning. :wasted:
Isn’t there a program that’s lets you record what’s on your screen? You may want to talk to some of the Kailerra people they may know how.
^^^I think Emil knows how, he was talking with someone about it in Kailerra the other day.
Well I use Camtasia, but I’m not exactly an expert on it…my recordings of the screen end up being fairly choppy, but I never really bothered playing around with the settings. Nonetheless it’s pretty easy to use.
Well for mame all you need to do is hold ctrl and shift before you start a match, then let go once the match already starts.
I’ve tried both Camtasia and Hypercam but my PC can’t record off the emu like I want it to and like Emil said it records choppy. So what I’ll end up doing is re-recording the footage with Giby with thise external capture device I got from Magician. It lets you record off anything as long as it’s hooked up with the PC at the same time. So we will probably end up doing it on the MVS version more than likely or the PS2 version since it’s easier to setup. I’ll keep you guys posted on how it all turns out, I also can’t edit videos for crap. It would be nice if I knew someone that could do some nice video editing but that failed in the past.
