Quick Question… Today I was playing the PS2 version of Garou, had the difficulty level set to 8, and I was up against Marco/Kushnood. Round #1 starts, and he opens up with a level 4 Ryuu-Sen Ken (charge punch). Now is that even possible? Don’t you have to charge for like 20sec to get to that level? Does the CPU cheat like a bitch? Needless to say, I was quite starteled when I was knocked on my ass from this speedy assault.
CPU cheating. Kinda like CPU Guile doing walking sonic booms/flash kicks.
pretty dopey question, but is there any other way jenet can use her dive kick [d.K->K->K … in air] besides backdash, jump, and AB?
what were these games played on?
First couple of matches were on the PS2 version then we used the Kawa-X version on the xbox to play on. Mainly since I didn’t want to bring my consolised MVS with me at that time. So some matches you might see a lot of errors since we weren’t use to the Ps2 version as much as the emu version. Still I hope you guys enjoy the matches or at least some of them.
Kickass bro,.
BTW what character other Hoku & Kain have a follow-up to their :d:+:snka::snkb:?
In those vids, why was the Tizoc player throwing out Hercules Throws on the opponents wakeup? Does it make it hard to dash/jump out of since theres a delay?
New Howard Arena Ranbat 4 is up for grabs at their filebank site once again, here is the link and enjoy:

pass: haraheri
Don’t forget to add the code they give you when you go to the link above to get to their files.
Not sure if you were talk’n about me, but here is why I do it:
- itz hella harder for me to do 360 (at least w/ pad)
- you can play w/ the delay for mix ups
- notice that sometimes I’m actually doing the toss BEFORE the opponent gets up, that way they wake right into it (if they do noth’n or react too slow)
Of course, as with any grab you will often open yourself up to counter attacks or even throws. This is why it is of the utmost importance to mix things up. I hope this helps. And for the record, I admit that I am NOT one of the greatest of Tiz players out there (and the rust on me doesn’t help out too much either )
Keep Play’n. Peace
Could be because the move has slow start-up to the point that the opponent might think that the throw will whiff, that’s just my guess mind u.
Sweet sweet vids! Best yet!
That Hoku was awesome (though that hotaru didn’t seem to great). Anyways… I’ve had this question for a while:
It seems like people are doing j.HP j.LK chain with hoku off of a short jump. Is this possible? Am I seeing things?
Yes it is, the trick is to hold down as you small jump when you do it, so it goes small jump, d + C, d + B. You can also combo from it if you time it just right, hope that helps you out.
Dont give him anymore Hoku strats please
I need more tips for gc’ing again, I cant seem to get it out. Ive been trying to gc fireballs with Marco, and rdp+A with Tizoc, but I cant seem to get them out regularly. Are there any tricks to doing it with a pad?
YEAAAAAH, BUDDY!!! Thanks dude! I had a feeling it’d be something like that. So awesome! :lovin:
9999…
Well, online you pretty much havta commit pretty heavily to the GC. And what helps me is to think of the JD motion as the move plus the JD instead of just ‘Back.’
So with Tizok i do b,d,db+lp and the ‘b’ part is where their attack is about to hit. For a low I’d go the same motion, but try and time the ‘db’ with their attack. Another way to use it against a low is to do db,b,d,db+lp. This timing is to use the first db to JD. Plus if you do this right you can deal with two quick attacks, like if they bait your JD with a close DxxDp.
Qcf is the hardest for me, but simply think of doing b or db~qcf+p. And think of that ENTIRE motion as the required motion for the JD (though time the b or db with their attack).
The way I learned to GC was to go through arcade mode JDing only when I can buffer the special motion. Like with Rock, Id go through arcade mode and each time I would originally JD, I would buffer a qcf first. After a few matches youll get the buffer timing down and you can move onto another attack motion.
I need to retrain my GCing skills. Before I could GC any attack I could JD (to a lesser extent online), but after going a few weeks playing 3S at my University arcade my GC abilities have turned to shit.
Fuck 3S.
PS: I buffer all my GC motions except Down to Up charge motions. I find every other method to be much more difficult.
Yeah! I forgot that way… In fact I use it
With dong i go dp,~b or ~db for the JD, then P. Doing that with qcf motions is nice too, like fireball with Butt.
With Marco, hcf+P (the back of hcf will be your JD). For rdp is easy, if you do your rdp as back, qcb…the first back will be your JD. You can even just do rdp+P, where the last back is the JD (already mentioned).
wheres the best place to have your TOP bar, beginning, middle or end ?
as I notice beginning has a bigger bar
Also in case you dont know why the US SNK changed the name of Marco to BUTT is this
The reason behind his name change was that a martial arts school near SNK’s offices in Southern California went by the same name. So, to circumvent potential litigation, his name was changed. However, why they changed it to such an eclectic one is anyone’s guess.
Put it wherever the hell you want, other people cant tell you where to put it, its all up to you and your playing style.
Yea in case anyone didn’t know im back into this…
Thanks…
