I NEED to know how Dong can beat Grant.
Seriously Grant is SOOOOO tough. What can I do?

Should be some new Howard’s Arena footage soon, I think they held a big ranking battle event last night…

Yes they should have some of the new matches up pretty soon, I’ll have them on youtube hopefully I still have to finish the rest of the other ones. As for Dong vs Grant you have to really be defense with Grant. It all depends on how the Grant plays if he rushes you have to really be defense and counter when you see a opening. Things to remember Grants qcf + B/D can be hit out of with Dongs stand A or DP + A/C. You just have to time it correctly, I have one match of me Vs Giby and you can see what I do. Even though Gibys Grant is pretty tough but I still manage to defend pretty well agains’t him. If they dive a lot try dash under him so you stop right behind them as they land. You can also JD the dive if you see it coming a mile away, also remember Grant can’t throw you if your crouching. If they have super stocked try to bait the super out but don’t jump a lot unless you know for sure you can JD the super coming out. Like I say it all depends on the player your playing, here is the match of me vs Giby even though I mess up some stuff. Here you go:

Thanks for the vid dude. It was quite helpful.
One of the biggest things that helped was knowing when the qcf+K was coming and dragon punch to beat it.
And walking instead of running was another helpful thing I noticed.

That throw thing is crazy! He can’t throw if you duck? So what about if I’m doing a c.LK or c.HP?
I’ve asked this question tons and it’s best help I’ve had so far.

I know if your blocking or not, he can’t throw you when your ducking mid screen or in the corner. Only character he can throw is Tizoc if I remember correctly, though then again you have to watch out if he small jumps a lot also. Depending on the hit box of those moves I’m not really sure if you can throw you out of the animations of both d + B and d + C. I’ll have to do some test to see, but I have been able to throw peopel out of theirs specials and normals at times. It all depends, I’ll do some more test on that though see what comes up. thy do something like cancel qcbA into stand A but how the hell they do this?

qcb + A, A + D or qcb + C, A + D, etc. they mainly cancel it with his stand A since it recovers faster than his other normals. You can also do with with (B + D), (C + D =if your not in TOP mode), (up + A + D), (up + C + D =if not in TOP mode) (d + A + B + D), (A + B + D) and just a stand D also. Remember when doing it go qcb + A release then press A + D. Hope that helps.

also i’ve seen a combo where they charge a third stock to do 100% with no top mode…

it seems that they cancel stand C into qcbA CD to a C punch to come out and continue the combo then input qcbA down CD to a cr C to hit then the last DM…using this will charge an additional stock right?

I can’t see much use for it besides making it easier to hit confirm and getting one hit extra, but it seems kind of hard for his case. I can do close C, f+AC feint, close C into whatever outside the corner, and close C, feint, close D into whatever, in the corner, but that’s about it.

Edit: Close C/D, f+AC feint, crouch AB works better than the previous stuff mentioned.

I also sometimes use something like close D, f+AC, walk up a bit, close D, f+AC, crouch D for strings (which does combo).

The way it’s done: (Have P super stocked)(Corner) Jump D, stand C, qcfx2 + B, qcb + D (gets you close and builds meter also), stand C, qcb + C, C + D, qcfx2 + B, qcb + C release then quickly cancel into qcb + D (builds a bit more meter that way instead of just qcb + D and gets you close to them again), stand C, (qcb + C, C + D), qcb + C, down + C + D, qcf + B, brake, qcb + A (Charge it for a bit enough to make them bounce a bit high), qcfx2 + A, then either DP + C or qcb + A charged for a bit to land on them.

That is one of Kevins 100% none TOP combos that he can do in the corner, all the cancels help Kevin build meter pretty quick.

Emil already pretty much answered most of the stuff you can do with his f + A + C, you can also do in the corner stand D, f + A + C, walk up a bit, stand + D, DP + C, into brake, then super or TOP attack. You can end it with whatever you want pretty much. It’s also good for doing certain mixups like doing stand D, f + A + C, d +B or stand D, f + A + C, walk in throw or stand D, + f + A + C, f + A or etc. You get what I’m saying, you can do lots of neat things with it.

I remember trying to get close A, close/far D>dp C(break) repeat to work for guard crush to work, but got socked in the mouth. Is it impossible, or is my timing off?
