On the MVS Terry can connect his close d + C, into stand A, but the ff + A will always whiff on both Tizoc or Grant mid screen. Another thing to note though on Grant is you can connect a close d + C, d + B then super after it mid screen. Jenet can also combo after a d + C, into down/stand + B in the corner as well. I don’t really see the point to doing his d + C, stand + A, ff + A x 3 mid screen, when he has better crossup combos that use the ff + A x 3 in them with faints.
@Nocturnal
Thx for the infos, like I thought …
I just wanted to know this, because I use often c.C as a poke and so it could be useful now and then. But thx to the information, I’ll stick more to c.B then. It hits low and you can also add a Buster Wolf or dp+B(brake) after it. A nice string, besides the feint ones, is also c.B, d+AB, qcf+A. Sometimes it comes in handy, I use it now and then. I can’t wait to get my game back in 2 days …
Someone uploaded some nice mow match videos to hameko – hame_3905.lzh. The site isn’t working very well this week, however, so I stuck the file on rapidshare.
http://rapidshare.de/files/10769668/hame_3905.lzh.html
EDIT: yeah I guess these were already on combovideos. d’oh
BlazeD says some friends of his sent them to him. uh - friends from where?
I’m thinking that they were choreographed…
Thanks for the vids. I had the Terry vs Gato and the Kevin vs Rock matches from a while ago, but not the other two.
Anyone who likes this game must see those matches. They make the people at Howard Arena look like noobs.
Thanks for the rapidshare, I’ll have something to watch tonight ^^
EDIT: saw the matches, they’re exactly the same kind as the ones on combovideos. In fact it may be the same matches, I don’t remember the ones on CV enough to say. Still, the framerate of these vids really annoy me : not only it likely implies that the video plays a little too fast, but I can’t help thinking that such a strange framerate is the result of messing with the vid, by multiplying the framerate. What I mean is I really have the impression the game was played quite slower and the video was accelerated only after. I might be wrong, after all I can’t prove that intuition but some of the combos, follow-ups and punishments in the vids are extremely difficult to pull out in a real match situation (since they are alrerady difficult in practice mode) so it is possible that it’s non-modified, but I still have doubts.
Whatever, it was some fine entertainment.
Maybe they are just far better players then the normal guy here or there, btw I download the vids now and check it for myself …
Edit: Looks kinda ok to me (maybe they just coudn’t capture better) and some stuff was really well executed …, good matches.
If its the one from combovid’s, I’ve always had problems with those. I remember theTerry doing:
C shoulder (link) sc.C (feint) sc.C (feint) sc.C (feint) c.C xx C shoulder (link) sc.C (feint) sc.C (feint) sc.C (feint) c.C (guardcrush) C shoulder (link) sc.C (feint) sc.C (feint) c.C xx busta wolf.
THREE sc.C’s is inhumanly hard. I also remember a Gato corner combo with two supers. I have a seriously hard time believing that was real play and not some sort of exhibition.
If it IS real, awesome, I want those guys to stand up and take credit for it. Because noone will take credit for it, this also leads me to believe its bullshit.
Could be, they may talked how the match goes etc. before and tried it a few times. But I think it could be just mad skill, you never know what people can do you never met in your life …^^
I can do three sc.C’s in that feint combo…that Gato combo with two supers is easy, but only works if you hit with his anti-air super when opponent was righ tabove you…then the final hit of that super connects late, and so they are in the air while Gato has landed.
I do think it was planned, but the combos aren’t inhuman. Then again, if they were real, the end of that Gato vs. Terry match would be alot more climatic…which it wasn’t. Also, the Dong Hwan vs. B Jenet and Rock vs. Kevin would have probably went to a close round 5 match, which they didn’t. Also…what is up with that Gato doing a f+A overhead into qcfx2+C which does not combo? I’m sure they would have fixed that if it was all planned. I’ve tried comboing that super even with autofire, it does not work.
Prove it. First person to send me a kawaks replay or input recording, legit garou.zip, doing sc.C (feint) sc.C (feint) sc.C against a cornered Gato, I’ll paypal you $2. I’ve been spending the past 20 minutes in a emu frame by frame trying to do it against a Terry in the corner, and the third has ALWAYS been a far standing C. I may be wrong, but I put my money where my mouth is.
It seems that your characters push-back from connecting a hit doesn’t happen until the recovery of the move, after the sparking. The feint has to be entered in during this time, so there shouldn’t be a timing issue of when you feint.
f + A to qcf X2 + C does work, there are certain moves in Garou that do this. Like Gatos qcb + d, into C. Usually depends on angle you hit them but if you guys ever noticed. Crouching characters have longer stun when hit with overheads, so try doing it on crouching characters. Also the f + A, into super does not combo but it does connect. Same for Grants d + B/D in the air does the same deal. They don’t combo but are not blockable after the hit, so the super always hits.
I just did it on the MVS right now. I dont have a cam corder to prove it, and I’m not trying to take your money, nor do I want it. I’m just posting to tell you it’s possible.
man i can even do that , and i dont even play garou so
Ok, its official, I’m a dumbass. Nocturne’s got my money, and I got some practicing to do.
Heh, learn something new everyday.
Nocturne you actually took the $2! I’m disappointed in you…
With some repeated attempts, I was actually able to get 3 close Cs feinted into a crouch C. Took about 10 tries to get that though, and I can’t seem to get in a buster wolf after that. Then again, I don’t practice this game that much but it should be possible to do that whole string.
Hey if you noticed, the f+a didnt combo. He got lucky, if it woulda linked the first hit of the super woulda been hit number two but it wasnt.
Is there a trick to doing 3x sc.Cs? Is it similar to Rocks 2x sc.Cs, in that, you have to hit f+C to connect the 2nd hit? Ive spent some time in training trying to connect these 3 Cs, and the 3rd is always a sf.C.
Same problem I had. When you do the f+AC for the feint, hold the stick forward for a little bit longer than you’re doing now. There’s room to actually get in a couple of frames of walking. There’s something else some people may or may not know, but I don’t want to mention it because Nocturnal wants to save it for his tutorial vid. I’ve been practising it as:
tap C, hit f+AC for the feint, releasing the buttons but holding forward on the stick, tap C, stick to neutral, f+AC for the feint, releasing the buttons but holding forward on the stick, tap C, stick to neutral, f+AC for the feint, releasing both the buttons and the stick, then for either:
Shoulder: slam the stick to d/f and hit C for the c.C, release both, then slam the stick to f+C to cancel the c.C into the C shoulder. Link the sc.C after the shoulder and repeat the above. I don’t know if I’m actually hitting forward on the way to d/f for the c.C, or if the f,f+C can be done as d/f,f+C, but it works for me.
Super: d+C or d/b+C for the c.C, following quickly by the qcfx2 and button for the super of choice.
After figuring out the timing on when to put the stick back to neutral between the f +C to feint, the 3 sc. Cs come out a whole lot easier. After that, comboing the last c.C to Buster Wolf is childs play. Its those two F+Cs that keep screwing me up, I cant consistently nail the timing.
I need to practice more. One of these days I might even get back on Kaillera to play some of yall.
so Kain is bottom tier heh? Bottom tier like, the Dan or Sean of garou? what? I’ll admit I use Kain, I have fun with him and I win. Yet, there’s only 3 ppl I know who play this game. But I tend to play him offensively. I dont do any crap like throw a fireball and wait to land his anti-air lol. I agree he doesn’t have the best combos but he has good counter combos. Can be ok with bar. Including the fact he can’t cancel off a low attack or even link. (why the fuck does SNK do that), he can’t cancel any crouching attacks, I mean WTF?! lol. One thing I found u can do is charge b, press f, f + P/K. He’ll short dash up and do the special move. Which can be pretty good for his fireball © to throw off the opponents timing. And regardless if it’s good or not but combo off a throw in the corner is quite nifty :D. He can also combo off a standing A, B chain. I dunno, imho Kain aint pure crap but he ain’t great. In fact, I think it’s good he’s not broken, for being a SNK boss lol.
By the way I have the DC version, what makes it non-arcade perfect
