Concerning the time zone, simply put I’m not changing it for two reasons.
I give up my night to direct these tournaments. I don’t get paid for it. I don’t get anything for it. I do it to promote the MOTW scene online. 9:00pm is a convenient time for me. It lets me have my evening without having to rush anything. It also allows me the luxury of having something to do wherein I’m not left going “what do I do with the rest of my night?” as they end around 11:00pm
While I’m sure there are a multitude of great European players, there most definitely are not a lot of Euro players that get a good ping on either Godweapon or Anti3d. A couple of months back, I put in a rule saying if you can’t hold down at least 100ms in either of the servers then you’re not allowed to enter. The lag when dealing with overseas players can be horrendous at times. I don’t mean to exclude anyone, but I’m not going to make changes to what’s proven to be a worthy format for a couple of players who’s ping is probably too high anyway.
Hmm…there’s a good chance I’ll be free that night, and I would actually like to see how I fare against people here. You mentioned IRC in the first post so do I need to go on an IRC channel before going on Kaillera or what? I’d like to participate if I’m free because this would be a first for me. Anything i need to know that is not mentioned in this topic?
