I would love to kick him in the balls for this one. Izumi was in the zone as usual. He was down right broken until the dame made her… what? Third or four appearance in the manga? Who the hell would have cared if she died? I don’t get it. What stupid point was to be made from it? How would his death change anything other than the status of that weapon? Izumi was never a team player! The team never relied on him for anything! He never coughed up a backstory to boot! And we comfortably ruled out the rivalry between him and Kurono once Kei lost his memory. He wasn’t even worthy after the Oni Boss incident! Kurono > Izumi. End game! He was stuck in Kurono’s shadow the moment he killed him at Shinjuku.
…Terrible. I could understand killing him with all of that said, but I wouldn’t call penciling in some irritating example of “irony” a worthy excuse for refusing to set up the entire event in the first place. Is Oku losing it? Meh. If Oku was gangster he would have had Blondie slash the girl, drop kick her body into Shion’s and Bruce Lee stomp the both of them to death.
