Amen. The Oni mission lasted half as long compared to this shit and it wasn’t just entertaining, but informative AND well paced. Any one of us here could have wrote this damn mission. Ah well… at least the new suit and mech were very well designed so hats off to our author. He IS putting in work… just not in the right areas.

I just got through reading all 270 volumes and I gotta say I’ve enjoyed it all so far. One thing though…vampires. Like, amidst the aliens they have to fight, I SO wasn’t expecting there to be a league of earth oriented creatures working with the aliens to beat the Gantz teams.
Overall I’d say Gantz is the first raw manga I’ve seen where anything goes, literally. Sex, drugs, violence, in other mangas it’s usually implied but you’re not let in on it 100% but Gantz throws that all out the window. And man, Osaka team was :looney:. This manga is a big departure from Bleach where NOBODY dies, ever. There’s just a lot of blood spilled on the ground after getting hit by an “ultimate attack” and the person passes out and we see them two volumes later patched up. In Gant, you see guts exploding every five pages. Men, women, children, nobody is safe, that’s why that fighter you get kinda attached to after a few volumes turns into a pile of gore and you’re like “awwwww”. I even feel bad when I’m reading because somebody survives two missions and then their third they get surrounded all alone and I say to myself “Well, see ya”.
Gantz is more “real” with what happens in deadly insane encounters I would say. Rather than the bad guy just beating you up and then leaving, he rips you apart, obliterates the remains and then takes a shit on your blood smear.

Part of the reason is I think because Gantz is Seinen and stuff like Bleach is Shonen.Since Gantz is catering to a more mature audience they can take thing’s like death a lot easier.Compare that to Bleach which is a Shonen manga made for younger teenagers.It could cause a lot of backlash if a popular character is killed,and then we have popular chracters popping up everywhere.A character can be revealed in one single chapter and leap up all the rankings.Fans are the reason’s characters such as Hitsugaya are more popular than the main character.
If you want all of that,and a story that is deep and psychological I would read Shamo.I promise it won’t dissapoint
