Marvel definitely. You can make a bracket work no matter how many people enter, so I would suggest no limit on players slots, and just encourage as many people to sign up as possible.
I have no problem setting slots of 32, 64, or 128, but I can not do a progressive pot. Reason why is GameWorks is a corporate entity so it has to follow the Washington State laws, its not a simple arcade shop otherwise I would do exactly that.
I want to give everybody a chance to sign up and play, but at the same time this is GameWorks first event in Seattle so they do want to play it safe.
I was thinking a 64 slot of MvC2 and if we have enough players run a second tournament that has either 64, or 32 slots. This way I can maximize the number of players without violating Washington state laws.
I will make sure all game controllers buttons, etc are brought up to tournament standards, we did the same thing for the Tempe tournament that just happened last weekend.
hey brian! whos throwing this tourney? is like a gameworks sanctioned thing? ive been trying so long to get tournies at gameworks, to no avail. sf4 is gonna be rough to get people whove picked console exclusives as mains. the turn out will still be huge though.
the tekken cabinet is outdated since its 5.0 but at least theres 2 cabinets so you could run 2 matches at once and there are controller ports on the side so you can bring your own controller or joystick and cant blame anything on the cabinet. however i dont think the turn out would be that great on a 5.0 tourney. get that mvc2 cabinet up and that’ll probably be your best bet cuz 3s doesnt have a big calling around here either. maybe check the weekly or monthly sacoa report and see which fighter besides sf4 pulls in the mosts plays/cash
