Okay, for those of you who haven’t read my original post with my survey answer here it is, oherwise skip past the italics to get the new info:
http://www.gameworks.com/survey.php
So… I filled out the survey and posted a huge comment. Here it is. Yeah, I know that it won’t change anything, but I"m at work and boredboredbored.
"Anything we can do to make your experience better? "
–If you did ANYthing you’d be bettering my experiance. Seriously.
First off, EVERYTHING is overpriced. I’m an avid fan of fighting games (I’ll have more on that in a moment) and while being out of date-low-budget-cabinets they are STILL, at the least, 80cents to play (based on your point system. 10 points = 1 dollar, 8 points for Street Fighter 3 makes for an 80cent game). That is ridiculous.
Everything else is the same.
Now on to sleection…
Do you have no love for Seattle Gameworks? Is it this bad at ALL of them? You should have the place audited to understand which games are getting the most play.
For starters:
DDR/Bemani/Music: SuperNova and Extreme are fine, expensive but fine. USA mix, MTV Drumscape, Guitar Mania USA are ALL TRASH. There are plenty more games in the Bemani/Konami realm that you could be using. Also, to have better, updated Bemani games would justify the high pricve you’re ALREADY asking. Beatmania IIDX, Guitar Freaks, Drum Mania, and Para Para PAradise would ALL be feasible , amazing, welcomed additions. Also, if you replaced DDR USA with an In The Groove 2 machine you would have the Bemani players hearts forever!
Racing: The ONLY games WORTH playing nowadays are Midnight Club and Initial D. If you were to Jettison some out of date racing games you’d be able to support more players for Maximum Tune, which supports up to 6, I think! All other games are worthless and technically a waste of space. They get play but not the constant repeat play that Max Tune and Initial D are getting.
Shooting games: So far this is the only area that’s not lacking.
Two House of the Dead 4’s is excessive though as Time Crisis 4 and Virtua Cop 3 are out and Gameworks Seattle doesn’t have any.
Action: You hardly have ANYthing regarding this. Please look into more Shooters and SNK/NeoGeo games, the games are older but affordable. You should be able to stock up and save money!
Fighting games: I’m biased on this but still. Your fighters alley is.an.eyesore! Out-of-date, yet very well maintainanced thatnks to your good crew. MvC2 and Street Fighter III are the best games you have Everything else is in dire need of an upgrade. Please look at the numbers too. Tekken five is wonderful but the sequel, Dark Ressurection has been out for many many months and has yet to come to Gameworks Seattle. This is TERRIBLE becuase having Dark Ressurection in your arcade would generate more players. Right now no Tekken players care to go to gameworks becuase thier game is out-of-date. The only places to play Dark Resurrection are BOWLING ALLEYS. What kinda mess is that!? As far as your other fighters the local scene would come out and play more if there was Guilty Gear XX Slash, Capcom Vs Snk 2 , King of Fighters XI, and maybe even Sreet Figther Alpha 3. We’d love for a Street Fighter II cab, that should be cheap and I promise it’d get play. Also, aren’t you supposedly a Sega arcade? If so they why does GAmeworks Seatle STILL have Virtua Fighter THREE. That’s disgusting. VF FIVE is out now… where is it? Us fighting game players are rather disheartened in YOUR lack of support. Just check the numbers again. PLEASE
I recently spoke to someone in your corporate division and they mentioned that Gameworks is focusing on the newest hunting game. UGH. Seriously. The Game at Our gamewaorks gets play but the money you guys put into it and making the tournament could be used for better games.
There’s no problem with the Staff, they’re all alright. They ALL pull thier weight and are friendly and helpful.
In closing, I’m doubting that you have anyone that actually reads these, and I’m even more skeptical that anyone at your company even cares.
To put is simply; the only reason that GameWorks Seattle actually makes any moeny at all is becuase we, out here, really DON’T have a choice. It’s the ONLY arecade downtown and it kinda sucks. Your Staff is great (I got hired there but quit before I started, got a better job offer) and the place is clean and well maintained but it seems like it’s practically the SAME exacte Gameworks that I remember from back when it opened in the 90’s.
…and that’s not a good thing. –
No Need To Inject the Fury!,
00000000 AKA “Haste!”
-Boh!-*
Now, I felt that this was jus’ pissing in the wind and nothing would happen. Seems I was entirely wrong!
I spoke to Patrick, one of the managers (as well as 3s player) and he was like: I heard about your survey. I thought he meant that Dave or Nate had told him as I had posted it up here on SRK but they hadn’t. Gameworks Seattle, apparently, had received a call for Corporate regarding MY survey. Long story short: they are concerned about what I wrote!!! Apparently, I mad a bunch of really good points. and got things moving. No lie.
So, here’s what we should do (partly recommended by Patrick):
-Go to gameworks.com and register your/a swipe card (you can’t fill out the survey without the customer number associated to it.
-Then go to http://www.gameworks.com/survey.php. And fill out the survey
-When you fill out the survey, please be honest but DON’T SLAG THE PLACE. Be considerate. Especially in the comments section, take care in voicing your opinion without being an ass.
Gameworks is on the verge of their 10 year anniversary (sometime early next year) and we feel that we could get things to change! Keep in mind that Gameworks has been practically unchanged (even in game selection) since it opened 10 years ago, let them know that! Give your input as well as ideas on what can be better. Name games you wanna see and give reasons as to why some/most of the games their don’t cut it. I posted my survey s an example. I know you guys can do WAY better. The thing we wanna do is flood them with feedback. They didn’t ignore mine so we may 'ave a fighting chance. Also, a week after submitting your survey if you’ve not been contacted by Gameworks, write another one to them stating who you are and why haven’t you been contacted. Let them know that it seems that they don’t care. Patrick told me to do this because, someone’s supposed to follow up on the surveys!
So get out there and take a minute to submit a survey. Maybe we CAN change things.
PS: ALSO, ABSOLUTELY NEVER MENTION SF:3s BEING THREE CREDITS PER SWIPE! That was very unofficial and not meant to be that way. While it was good while it was like that, Gameworks corporate DOES NOT need to know. We don’t wanna accidentally get the staff introuble for something one floor person did. Again, it NEVER should’ve been set to that so don’t mention it! ;]
Thanks for reading guys.
