Yeah according to my manager, itâs a midnight launch tournament same as the smash tournament so I dunno about this being held at the 21st. If so no manager is gonna take hours away to hold it. Crap hours as it is. Chances are itâs going to work out the same as the smash tournament where it starts around 10 and should end before midnight.
No idea if a set console is going to be used so it may depend on convenience. My store has a nicer set-up for the PS3 so weâll probably use that. Only the storeâs controllers cause itâd be a pain in the ass to open up the case for every guy with their own stick. And youâre gonna be standing in front of a display anyway so how do you expect to use a fightstick?
Would only be base characters since the gameâs not even out yet when itâs being used so whoâs going to unlock characters for this thing? Itâll probably be a default match (2 wins default time) on a random stage since the stage doesnât matter anyway.
And who honestly expects to win cash in a store tournament? Hell who expects to get money from Gamestop? Itâs hard enough as is just to trade something in for cash. Itâll probably be the same as smash where you get a weird as hell trophy (was a high school wrestler for the store tourney and a karate dude for the district one) and a certificate that you use to get in the next tourney. No idea what the final winner will get but itâll probably be something nice.

As per your scrub/noob question, itâs two different things altogether. In poker, when I played, there were fish and there were donkeys. Fish didnât know the correct plays, and were relatively new to the game. Donkeys were veterans, but neither knew the correct play or even cared. Some even knew the correct play, but didnât care enough to make it, but could easily criticize others.
Same goes for FGs. Noobs are just that. New to the game and inexperienced. Scrubs are people that have been playing for a while, can talk a big game, but in the end lose and whine about their loss. They could improve, but they donât, because they hide behind this âtakes the fun out of itâ mentality, or they just donât want to put in the time to actually get good.
But people are always using the terms interchangeably, but I honestly see it as that.

Also, if you guys have a gamecrazy in your area. Give them a call, they might be holding a tournament as well?.. because the one I used to have near me usually gave the game away as the prize.
