Gamestop Street Fighter IV Tournament

I wasn’t really bitching, just telling what I heard. Probably from smashfags like you put. I also heard people trying to invalidate the tournament due to the rules so I figured most people in the community were displeased with the decisions on how to run it. Similar to the gamestop tournament

guys it would seem to me that all Characters should be unlocked by tournament time. The game releases on the 17 but the tourney isn’t until the 21. that’s more than enough time to get all the characters unlocked. At the local gamestop brawl tourney, the manager, young guy, said he spent all day getting all the characters unlocked for the tourney which was at midnight because the game had a midnight release. we also got called into the store in pairs of 4 because they had 4 kiosks set up, and they let up pick our character which was then put into a tourney tree. The only problem that I had with that tourney was the fact that the manager, who had spent all day unlocking the characters, PLAYED IN THE TOURNAMENT!shit was totally unfair because he was the only one who had played the game and he was an employee, which means he wasn’t suppose to compete. he said that he was in THE tourney because he wanted to eliminate people faster. he ended up eliminating me in semi finals. and he went on to win the entire tournament with Lucas, but since he wasn’t supposed to compete in THE first place the runner up won by default. Its not gonna matter this time though because everyone will have hands on this time!

Man I remember the crawl tournament we had about 3 or 4 stores to participate. I went to the one on south tryon. not sure if I’ll in back to that though. I may though. but let of know what’s up.

I’ll try unlock as many characters as I can before hand.
Sticks OK. No turbo or macro use(no, not even 3P to a single button) Remapping ok.

EDIT: Almost forgot, the Gamestop on Hegenberger in Oakland(towards the airport) will be having a 3S warmup tournament on Saturday the 31st at 5PM. it’s the Xbox version on a sit-down candy cab with seimitsu sticks and buttons. I will also be running that tournament.

Top 4 is double elimination, or did you mean that prior to top 4 is one game?

I’m sure this tourney will suck much like all other gamestop tournaments.

I’m doubting they will let people bring in their sticks… and it would be hard anyways since their setups are the locked up stands they use for demos.

It can’t be as bad as the Brawl tournament they set up (with wii motes only and timed rounds), and since I’ll be getting it on day one I may as well enter.

Ok so, i’m in NY, nobody is going to a Bronx (fordham or 3rd avenue) Gamestop or a Harlem (125th street)/ Washington Heights(145th&broadway) gamestop are they? i’ll be hitting up one of those to participate in the tournament.

ohhh, it’s a saturday… there’ll be another [actual] tournament in crooklyn. dunno if i should go though, i won’t have my stick modded till then.
