ok i did some math here on this. there were 250 round 2 store locations. in the official rules it states that there are 574 round 2 prizes. im pretty sure that top 2 are supposed to get a controller, and not just first place.

This really needs to be confirmed because I’m not really feeling the 6 hour drive to round 3 if we are going to have to use the fight pads hooked up to the displays. Too much random stuff was going on and one of my matches I was unable to do fireballs.

Oook…so can anyone who maybe works for GS tell me how many/which stores are in the Arizona region? Because, according to the tournament list of stores, there are 6 district stores in AZ, with 2 winners each, meaning a 12 person tournament. And Round 3 only has one winner per store, soooo, that means that if they are running a “normal” tourney, then 4 people are going to get byes unless there are some out-of-state stores that are part of this region. There’s no other way to run an even tourney with 12 people that I know of…

Yes. They are Region 24 stores. North County, East, South, Central, and West are all Region 24 stores (SoCal) and will be heading to Glendale, AZ for Round 3.
Also NV stores will be there as well as they too are apart of Region 24. So fret not.
I posted about the pads. NO ONE HAS GOT THEM IN SHIPMENT YET, SO RELAX. As soon as we get them, we’ll call you to pick your prize up :wgrin:
^You’ll be able to use the fight pads for Round 3. Fight sticks has not been confirmed yet. Yes. I know Mr. Wizard said he will contact GS and request to have them allowed, but GS has not contacted any stores yet. So for now, it is a NO!
Oh, and it is only ONE (1) winner per Region, not store. There will be 16 Regions participating, with only one (1) winner from each Region advancing to the Finals in April in San Francisco. Those 16 participants also net a spot at Evo in the quarter-finals. If they cannot make it for whatever reason, that region can appoint an ‘Alternate’. So if lose to the winner and he can’t make it to Evo, you can go as an alternate.
Finals will be a double-elimination format, best of 5 rounds, 99 seconds.

Dear god please let there be sticks allowed at round 3. The gamestop bolted in pad setup is pure torture.

Stick are allowed in round three. You know that it going to be smooth sailing on EX canceling. I think we are playing with Tournament Fighter Stick also.
