Yeah, religious discussion becomes divisive, but I have no problems discussing the matter when anyone approaches me with interest. I’ve professed belief in Christ for a long time, and despised arm-twisters that want to turn every discussion into a theology or “come to Jesus” discussion. It’s unnerving and puts on a self-righteous attitude.

Please review my posts before adding anything to the discussion. This dude’s goal can easily be achieved by creating a facebook group that announces the meet ups at events. If he asked Val, RC and Dios-x very nicely, he could have the christianity thread in GD and have the people of faith kick it there so they can also have their own little place inside of SRK. If he was out to do right by the word of god, he would spend his time imitating him and doing right by his local community as opposed to spending money to send people to video game tournaments.
If he chooses to give up on this idea to do something else that has immediate impact on his surroundings and people who truly need the help, then WE will always be here to welcome him when things are good, bad, people treat him like shit, people treat him nicely, when he volunteers to build houses, when the houses he built went awry, when he could help homeless get a meal, when the burden of trying to follow the footsteps of a man who supposedly lived 2,000 years ago and was the son of god simply gets to hard. Because when all of that shit happens to him, we’ll be here with a seat and stick for him to give himself some space from life. We are gonna be here to say “its ok dude just chill out and get some games in, you’ll feel better afterwards.” There are a lot of things we do that make us an insanely strong community.

That group of dudes went “this guy is so damn swell that we should pitch in so he can go play.” That’s some true community bonding shit. When we house people, when we lend them stick, when he hook’em up with rides without asking for gas, when they hook us up with dinner, when they do something so damn awesome as to lend me an x-box-copy of UMvC3-stick so that I can practice the game after selling all that shit to pay for trips to houston for my wife’s head…These are the things that bond us into a an actual community.
Sponsoring a couple of dudes so they can rock a tag and open up tents at MLG doesn’t do shit to help any of that.
I’ve actually read your posts. Here’s my question though. I haven’t been to a major. Does every team that sponsors players set up a booth at majors?
If they do, then that fear is justified. If not, then perhaps it’s a bit misplaced. At no point in any of his posts, from what I’ve read, has he mentioned setting up a booth with the sole purpose of getting in your face and proselytizing at majors. People ultimately have a choice not to go to a booth if those booths are there anyway.

What a joke. lol Also the other christians that want to attend our bible studies and outreaches of feeding the homeless and so forth as we have done at many other events in the past. I won’t respond to future post that are not mature and serious about wanting to know something about the sponsorship or my beliefs.
