No one wants to convince them to do anything, other than disappear from bleeding revenue and any start ups that take their place learn what’s expected from them. “Change” in games journalism doesn’t necessarily mean changing what’s currently out there, but supporting new start ups that actually are objective and ethical.
What rules have SJWs set? I’m sorry but journalistic ethics isn’t set by SJWs and if anything they are the ones not playing by any type of ethical rule set. I mean, if GG is boycotting politically injected, corrupted, and SJW blogging, then it’s certainly not from them being ethical. Who said we should play by SJW rules? If anything, we should have integrity and do the right thing, which is certainly not hit pieces, even if they’re on pieces of shit like #3. You want to spread the message? Great, there are plenty of archivetoday links and KnowYourMeme articles covering evidence to support the message. Hit pieces by Milo, that doesn’t help in the slightest. It’s no better ethically and is hypocritical to support that behavior. Again, we absolutely do not need a media platform to “expose lies and sociopathic behavior” via hit pieces by any of the professional victims because they do that on a daily basis themselves. Archivetoday, bam, job done. It would be one thing if a media platform objectively picked apart the pro victims’ claims and arguments pertinent to GG, but another to dig into stupid shit they wrote on forums 7 years ago that has nothing to do with ethics in the games industry.
Fuck IA. He can get disillusioned all he wants, but doing a 180 on what GG is about to win is losing in the end, meaning, we’re no better than they are. They antis pretty much kill themselves for us anyway, having seen the SVU episode that was supposed to be the final nail in the GG coffin.
Gad, I know that RPS isn’t on our happy list, but they went balls deep in that motherfucker like they just don’t care. I wish more shit like that happened, I’d love to see someone go balls deep in some of the blogging sites’ editors, lol.
IA bailed because #GG didn’t turn into a group of extremists he hope it would be. In his final video he said that appealing to moderates is what killed it.
That’s not what he said and you change the meaning by using different words. He said clearly, and he’s right, that the BS is not only happening in VG journalism. It’s something that is going on in other fields as well (and especially all the nerd hobby scenes) so gamers should be using their momentum to help everyone else too by fighting the actual source of the problem rather than just the small symptom that hurts them specifically.
Basically use your power to help the weaker rather than conveniently ignore them for the sake of making things more comfortable for you.
The enemy is not Polygon nor Anita. If you take them down, another will rise to replace them. The real enemy is the ideology and the rhetoric that helps them thrive.
I can attest that the same kind of shit is/was happening in the table top gaming scene as well…which is incredibly retarded since it’s pretty much just using your imagination. Like motherfuckers are ya’ll just barely getting upset at Frank Frazetta now? I bet old Robert Howard is turning in his grave back in my hometown at the thought of these scrubs trying to come in and thought police motherfucking fantasy land.
Edit: And yeah it’s kinda lame to have to go and show a persons past like they did with Brianna, but being that this person is constantly trying to shove themselves in the spotlight it is a good way to inform those that aren’t in the know like us that might actually do a little research. And I am sure it would better for them to read that then something the likes of Encyclopedia Dramatica. As far as it being transphfobic, all it was doing was literally pointing out stuff that is freely available on the net, pointing out that persons own views on topics. If a person admits to lying all the time, how is calling them someone that might not be the most forthcoming person transphobic? Fucking buzzwords need to fuck off.
As much as I loved seeing Molyneux take one up the ass, I totally agree with this sentiment. There are constructive ways to go about doing this, and a real journalist would know that. Of course we’re dealing with bloggers here. The first question easily set the tone, Moly is a complete dumb ass for even answering and letting him go on. Why he didn’t hang up after hearing it, is beyond me. He should have known exactly what type of interview he was going to be a part of. That interview was tl;dr and he kept talking.
Eh, a good way to inform them is to simply link them to #3’s Twitter, since self damning statements come out every 5 minutes. The article could have taken public statements from MSM videos and countered them with shit from Twitter, or rather than that, contact people who once worked with a before and after #3 and get statements then. Regardless, statements people say this or that, is that good journalism? Because Ukatok did the same thing recently about the Pinsoff interview and everyone laughed at it because it was essentially he said she said.
Leaving traces of yourself on the internet is a bit more factual, but I still think the article was in poor form. It would have been better to focus on the recent events on Steam rather than some garbage from an internet forum 7 years ago. Then it would at least have some relevancy.
As for transphobic, well, no one with half a brain in this topic has written the article was, so
Good. NeoGaf seemed like, hands down, the biggest and douchiest place to discuss video games. Its like SRK but with 99% more nerd shit. So fuck that place.
I guess they do, ive musta made 5 tweets all in, all of em reposts of earlier #GG shit. Only use it for looking up gaming info so the fact I got blocked bizarre pretty much means they got that app thing going on. SJW bastards lol.
