man, I live 3 minutes away and I don’t like going… the size, the time issues, the date. there’s no turnout because it’s not run well.
Very true. The only time you’ll be present at GC with Smash players is the TourneyPlay Tournaments, and all you have to do is ignore them like we did most of the time.
I typically mingle to get them more involved, we had 10 smash players sign up for Sf4 last time so they all can’t be that bad to branch out into newer games.
Edit:
Exactly why Chris wants input from us. He wants to make it more pleasing for us to have a greater turn out. He wants GC to be the place to be. He’s got 8 TV’s with their current set-up. If we start attracting more people and maybe we’ll have a need for the rest of his TV’s.
this is Mandel
This is Mandel. I think that’s all fine and dandy if people knew when the tournaments were taking place. That’s all I’m saying.
how do you suggest to solve the smash players on adderall problem
The next one won’t be till Sept.
Eman - If you’re saying registration is at 11, make SURE those fuckers have someone there @ eleven. They generally get there at noon at the earliest it seems…
As for the worry about smashers, they’re not there that day. Other than me. And eman.
And for all those with random beef with Gameclucks/Lynnwood/Who know wtf else…just come out for the scene. </hypocrite>
I’ve done a lot of media coverage for e-sports in general (co-founder of esfiworld.com).
If people are interested enough I will take pictures, record HD matches and post write-ups. To do that though there would have to be a certain level of interest/support of the event. Hopefully that kind of content would help get people there though.
My beef is the fact that when there IS attendance, there ain’t room. We gotta rearrange the whole joint.
Basically a later start time solves a LOT of peoples issues, because I originally had the problem with GC about them saying “Registration at 11, Tournament at 12” then I’d be sitting there from 10:45-12:30 smoking cigarettes wondering “It’s this sunday, right?”
Basically 6PM start time, Different station arrangement for optimal room for attendance, No smash kids (Given, no smash kids will be there unless it’s a TP event which happen rarely).
Am I missing anything?
We have a lot of time, so give me GOOD ideas and hook a brother up.
That was my biggest issue. I wanted to watch matches but felt extremely uncomfortable every time i tried.
Stations against the wall rather than in rows that create narrow “hallways”? Just a thought.
I used to drive from Sumner to Lanwerx, after going home from UW like every weekend. I never expected people to come out there.
Just sayin.
Damn but Sumner is HELLA far. Lynnwood is like 20 mins from Kirkland/Bellevue.
Lynnwood is literally 20 minutes from pretty much everyone in the SF4 community aside from the Federal Way group.
Yeah that was my best idea. One big part in the middle where you could essentially see the screens instead of the little hallway-esque setup.
Yeah, it’s true. I like where I’m at because it’s equidistant to all the gatherings pretty much. It’s like a half hour from everett gatherings, kirkland gatherings, seattle gatherings, bellevue gatherings… I drive from Lynnwood to everywhere, and I can assure people it’s not that bad. Don’t be so lazy. Assuming this tourney setup gets it’s shit straight.
Ironically though, I don’t know that I’m interested because I’m taking a break from SFIV after evo.
Same. I plan to take a couple weeks off and just chillax.
i’m hyped for BLAZEBALLOON after evo, personally
Melee for me.
