Never mind. The face paint was bothering me too much. I just washed it off 
you don’t need a gmail address, nor do the people who join the group. i think it’d be better since it’ll notify via email and won’t necessarily force people to check their fb or twitter. however, i think fb would be better than twitter if there had to be a choice. a fb group is interesting nowadays since there’s chatrooms for groups, so people randomly online can chat to each other and arrange stuff. a downside is making this thread a little less useful, but if we can grab people from multiple forums, these routes would be more powerful. Also, can you edit the original post to add whatever method you decide to choose?
The problem I see with email groups is that its easy for an email to get lost in a sea of crap. I get at least 30 emails a day… most of which are not important. With twitter I won’t be spamming it to say “LOLZ PETEY IS SUCH A NOOB.” (OK that might happen) I’ll keep it to just to announcements for meetups.
Also what I like about posting times in the thread or on twitter is that it makes the process effortless for me. I can just throw up a message and people can easily see it, rather than say, looking for everyone’s number in my phone and sending out a group text and possibly forgetting to text someone.
Now if you can do that in a google/facebook group, then its all the same for me, but I think you already mentioned what was going to be my next point: I didn’t really want discussion to venture too far outside the thread. Having to follow multiple threads on multiple boards is just a pain.
I agree that putting the twitter on the OP is a great idea… get on that shit Petey. Also, putting @gainesville_SRK on your sig on other boards you post at is a pretty easy way to get the message out since it literally takes all of 5 seconds to make a twitter account and check if there’s been an announcement.
