i feel like im treating mvc3 like i do CoD right now. i enjoy playing it, but i havent found a level of depth that makes it viable as a tournament level game. when i lose i never feel like the player is better than me or outplayed me. im going to continue to play this game for fun, and ill be looking for depth along the way so that i may someday be competitive and serious about it.
and thanh, do keep in mind that this game has a sneaky way of making people feel better than they actually are
I know I’m not terrible, but I’m not looking to throw down $5 bucks which will get switched to $10 to play single elim. I also don’t own a ps3 stick and I’m not about to use your octo-gate monstrosity.
From what I’ve seen so far, I really don’t think that mvc3 will last half as long as mvc2 did and it doesn’t seem as deep (but it’s only been out a month). My issue with mvc3 is it seems like they dumbed it down from mvc2…kinda like how sf4 was. But all in all, I enjoy it a lot despite being a total n00b…and there is a random all button, which is far superior to anything mvc2 had.
Gonna be starting this first one and hopefully do it once a month. Hope everyone can come to this! I’m not sure if it’s enough in advance for some of you guys to come down but it’d be awesome to have a good florida turnout
Possibly. I always wanted to know what the FL scene down there was like compared to Orlando/Tampa.
Though I have a feeling I’m gonna be pretty busy in April and I’ve only been anywhere near Ft Lauderdale once.
Base on what I see, there is no points play MvC3 seriously unless you can do 100% combo or reset. High level is all about land a random hit into huge combos. Sure is fun to watch though, lol.
I’d love to go down to another tourney, I just wouldn’t want to go alone to Ft. Lauderdale because I’ve never been there and its pretty far. If some of us wanted to get together and carpool, I’d definitely be down to go, barring I don’t have any other plans that day, which I’m pretty positive I don’t.
I’d be down for this if nothing else comes up between now and then. Been watching the OS stream for quite some time now…would be great to play some of you guys.
Patrick, if you and Hamilton are able to go I’ll carpool.
Yo, I’ll go to this if there isn’t a CEO tournament sometime near it. Maybe we could hook up and I can ride with you guys.
EDIT: MvC3 is dumb. I don’t really have the base knowledge to that claim, but God damn, never has a game frustrated me moreso than this shit. Some of the dumbest shit happens and if you ask why, the only answer you get is “idk”.
Welcome to marvel. That’s the way all the marvel games have been. When you lose, you have know idea how. It’s definitely easier to recognize how you lose in Super as opposed to MvC3.
True. Idk, I’m still on the fence. I can get past the gimmicks, the cheapness and the high stakes nature of it if I could just figure out certain nuances that make the game… dumb as fuck. With the way my mind works, figuring out why I got hit is like solving an equation, and not having a viable solution for that equation frustrates me to no end.
I drive a malibu that seats 5 including myself, but I’ve never actually driven with 3 people in the back so it may not be very comfortable. I’m fine with driving though.
