Aww… no meet up this week? I was already going to be in town for the Library of Congress exhibit rolling in for the weekend at the Millhopper library, but I guess that’ll be the only thing I do instead of getting my face punched in mashing buttons on a controller and losing all the time. 
where is the place for the orlando tournament? Does it have a door fee for playing?
Pnt ocala has an mvc3 tourney the 26th. Not sure if you guys wanna come after how bad the SSF4 one was but just putting the info out there.

I’m kind of on the fence about it. They allowed buy backs without the money going to the pot and no ability to play any casuals… and in marvel I feel like I need to spend more time in training trying out new characters before I even think of trying to play in a tournament.
Thanh, are the rules gonna be the same as last time? That’s what’s gonna make or break the deal for me.
Huh. It seems someone at the public library took my recommendation of Marvel 3 seriously. 
They’re doing an event for kids at the Millhopper Branch library tomorrow.
It’s mostly meant for kids, but I figured I’d throw it out and mention it on SRK if any of you guys wanted to go up there and help the kids with their game or see if there is any interest in the game/fighting game scene past Super Smash Brothers that the library generally does at nearly all the branches.
Note: This doesn’t mean someone like Petey goes up there and terrorizes the little kids. 
I may go, just to watch the matches and feel bad if some of the kids are able to do better than I can at fighting games.
what system is PnT on? If it is on ps3, I will own everyone with my preset dash button.

Hell, apparently I don’t do as terrible as I thought and my only bnb is LMHS air MMHS super or a variant of it.
The tournament will be on (probably) one PS3 set up (My brother and I have offered to bring our 360 and we were pretty much denied or something of the sort). I’m pretty sure the rules will be the sames as every tournament they have here, basically single elim, buy back that doesn’t add to pot, seeded by your time of sign up (though last time I don’t think they did that) etc all the bad stuff. The first place prize is apparently two tickets to Comicon but I feel like there is some “read between the lines” shit. Not sure.(There was a GH3 tournament that was supposedly worth like 5k but you had to win the international round to get it and the store prize was like $75 STORE CREDIT or something like that).
I hate to pull an F. Champ here but I Ocala’s fighting community sucks. Its too spread out, no regular scene that meets up, too many people who don’t like playing competitively etc. The only people I REALLY consider any good is my MvC3 team for CEO (Myself, brother, and a friend I play with semi-regularly who plays on stick). Anyone else I play are okay at best, probably the best in their circle of friends but I don’t know everyone who plays here so I have no room to talk shit but I really don’t believe that there are too many outstanding players that are in hiding.
I hate to be even cockier but I really believe my brother or I will easily take 1st place in this tournament (one of us will get screwed over by the brackets/lack of a proper losers backet). You guys coming would make it fun. In fact, if it wasn’t for you guys, I would have regretted taking off that day from work. I absolutely do not blame you guys at all for not coming at all. I always always offer to help run tournaments but since I don’t work there, whatever I say doesn’t mean much. I’m planning on running a Pump It Up tournament in June (Weekend before CEO) and I was thinking of a side MvC3 tournament since a lot of us dance game players play fighting games but I’ll have to figure that out later.
If you guys do come out, I’d be happy to hold casuals before/after the tournament. I live with my mom though so I can’t really have you guys too late (about 9 at the latest) and if the tournament takes anywhere near as long as it did last time for as few people as we had, post-tournament casuals probably won’t happen.
Looked on my facebook to see if I had any events conflicting with the PnT tourney. Apparently that’s the day UF’s JClub Spring Festival is: I definitely won’t make it there. Sorry.

The weekend before CEO is bad for me; I’ll be a best man in a wedding in Massachusetts.
My main reasons for not wanting to go to PnT are because I’m trash at marvel more than because of play n’ trade. Every day I’m on the fence about whether or not I should just drop marvel altogether and then I remember there’s about 30 other characters I haven’t tried yet.
Dude don’t quit marvel. We’ve only got together and played the game as a group like 3 times. Plus it’s only been out for just over a month so give it a chance…You might find a team you love 6 months from now. I know where you are coming from because I’ve said “I’m done with this game” many many times with every fighting game I’ve played.
So yeah, don’t quit guys…I don’t want to go back to Super yet
I do! Unlike Marvel, I actually some sort of foundation in that game.
