Whats a good follow up to the unblockable if they get hit with the assist? Assuming you hit them and they are at your height at the end of the move.

I think I have the perfect setup for the unblockable, I’ll post some matches after they get uploaded by the streamer

If they get hit by Demon Missile H, and that’s the last thing they get hit by, then they suffer a spinning hard knockdown. Just Hell Dive L to the ground and start a normal ground series into a full combo. I haven’t tested all of the ones I listed extensively, but with Dark Hole, it doesn’t matter if they block or choose not to block - Demon Missiles H catches them, and they take big damage.

Also, I was thinking about Sentinel Force. I don’t want to have Sentinel on my team, but I bet if someone did a combo like this:
s.S, sj.H, qcb.M, sj.H (1 hit), sj.S

You could do this:
Call Sentinel Force, charge Demon Missile H.

I bet that would be an unblockable either way your opponent techs.

yeah, the unblockable is amazing on some characters as they are coming in with the right assist. I use skrulls air tendirizer and it can lock down some characters long enough for it to go off. I don’t know how good it will be when people start catching on though. Great to throw out every now and then.

Tenderizer assist doesn’t work if your opponent chooses not to block while coming in, IIRC. Your opponent enters aerial recovery right as the swoop passes through them, so it always whiffs. If they block, then you’re gold.

Oh man I gotta try this out it may completely change the dynamic of my team!

I’m currently using Arthur (Dagger Toss) . Firebrand (Demon Missle H) . Ghost Rider (Chain of Rebuttal)

I’m wondering if anyone using any sort of combination of these characters has any tips for me?

Also, I’m looking for a combo to use after successfully landing a Devil’s Claw. Sometimes I can combo into Bon Voyage but I’d rather have a full combo ready to go. Any suggestions?

Final question: Is Firebrand’s Hover fast enough for him to do fly combos? If so, can anyone suggest a good fly combo to start with?

Really liking Firebrand unexpectedly. using H spitfire in conjunction with assists is fun but the scaling is so high comparable. Lots of neat stuff an tricks I’ve seen.

I know it’s still early but where can I find good match players using him?

Firebrand can do fly combos, but only realistically in corners since he pushes opponents away so much from his aerial attacks. There’s no real point to them, either, since he can relaunch until hitstun decay disallows him from doing so.

The only good Firebrand I have seen is ChrisG - check out Sp00ky’s stream archives from this weekend for some good play.

Is Firebrand’s Spitfire H immune to pushblock or something? No one ever pushblocks it, but I haven’t taken the time to test it myself.

I’ve been looking for a single character I like the most to build a team around and I’ve gone with Firebrand. (Thanks to Chris G.) Having so much fun with him so far, though I’ve yet to settle on a team, im just practicing FB all day, every day! However, isn’t this character forum missing a Matchup thread? The thing I want to focus on after learning FB inside out is how to cope with all the inevitable Weskers and Vergils!

Have you guys ever consider Trish? She is best friends with anybody with unblockable setups.

I’ve been trying out brand/trish/skrull, it’s a pretty effective team, tons of space control.

how are you guys opening people up? i just seem to have a hard time getting in/being in range for for his qcf+s. the people i play mainly just jump backwards all day and when i get close they block/pushblock… i know it seems redundant… but i use hulk and ironman as well and i have LESS difficulty opening opponents up with them. so far firebrand is the hardest character to open people ive played. most of my openings are me counter hitting there own L attacks… theres got to be something better right?

Is Firebrand able to combo off instant jumping L? Or does he need an assist? Or, failing that, what are you guys using as overheads?

Firebrand gets high damage combos by dry tagging to Viper after a bon voyage, it doesn’t hurt that he gets a ton of unblockables with her thanks to the overhead assist paired with his amazing mobility and slide.

With Firebrand/Viper (burn kick)/Strider (Vajra)

Has a 1 meter deficit does 970K damage

On crouching opponents Im not sure, but LMHS will work most of the time for that overhead.

why are you forcing Strider into that team? I know Vajra is good, but its getting figured out pretty quickly, and if you get caught with it you are soooo screwed. If you want Viper/Firebrand, why not get a beam assist with a character that doesn’t need the meter so Firebrand can take it all for best tricks?

Strider is an amazing anchor, but you don’t really have a battery setup at all. I know Viper can be one, but she has troubles getting in with this team. Maybe try Frank or something if you don’t like Beam assists?

It’s not about Vajra being figure out or not, it supplements Viper’s zoning game a significant deal along with being one of the ones that lets her build more gauge and damage in combos. With Vajra she gets to combo off of full screen seismic hammer hits into 900+K which is a significant reward for blowing up a bad disruptor or zoning tool + Sentinel call. Firebrand gets to do a lot of BS with Vajra that I’m just learning about now and he’s an optimal team mate for getting strider actual damage out of a hit since demon missile M can be used to get a free 100K bonus at the beginning of things and has soft knock down when used against aerial opponents making it exceptional for extending late Strider combos. My Viper normally leaves my team mates with a massive gauge surplus, she’s my best character for sure and I feel Vajra is the best assist for her at the moment. Viper can do 720K gaugeless with this team while building 2.2 meters or so, so if she’s already gotten any stray seismos she doesn’t need to burn meter to kill. She’s actually one of the best batteries in either vanilla or Ultimate Marvel. Viper never needs assists for getting in, she needs assists for full screen pressure which is why disruptor was so valuable for her in Vanilla.

I actually run the team as Viper/Firebrand/Strider but figuring out stuff after a DHC for killing the first character if they’re high health is important.

More juicy info for Firebrand, you can fuzzy guard with 214B, S, /, 9, A, B, B, S as the combo starter and it lets you hit confirm into biggish damage (I was hitting 800 but I raw tag Viper in the combo) I think you can advance guard bait double overhead by canceling into flight mode but unsure yet, needs more testing.
