(GA Thread) We punch fools in the FACE!

Translation

oh snap

Columbus, GA is a city in this state. It’s about 1 hour 45 minutes away from Atlanta, GA, so I make my trips there every now and then.

I’m often confused as a guy that lives in Columbus, OH. So I’m not surprised.

LOL, Ray just got real on that one. Are you going to be at Waba tomorrow? I may try to make it out there

I saw that movie last Halloween. It was pretty fucking funny in a Street Fighter: The Movie sort of way. Like, the effects for the laser gun looked like they were done in Microsoft Paint. It was fucking hilarious. Everyone was like "YEAH! CUTTING EDGE SPECIAL EFFECTS! FUCK YEAH!"
Also, the theater babes in the audience were well worth the price of admission. Every single one of them was wearing a corset and their tits were huge.

Yeah, I know about Columbus, Georgia. I think I might actually have been there once or twice. I could have sworn that Columbus was the capital of South Carolina though.

is waba worth going to

The shortest answer is “yes.” If you want, I’ll go into the reasons why.

Who all is gonna be out there? I still havent been out that way but i’m definitely looking to game some now that I’ve got the majority of the family stuff out of the way.

Its coming along! I just need to paint/dye the red border yellow and order some more buttons so I can base-swap the 4 whites for blacks as well!

Alright,

Well I just wanted to hop in here about the whole thing with Iceman contributing on the scene since a few times in his posts several things were bought up about myself. The Madden thing at Impact Clash was not Iceman’s idea. It was put under pressure by a sponsor (EA) and so I added it but did not advertise it so that there wouldn’t be enough people to have an actual tournament in it. Iceman did warn to not add that.

I will say at Impact Clash 2 he did offer quite a bit of help. Even though I know IC2 went down in infamy I will say that it would’ve been way, way, worse had Iceman not jumped in and offered solutions, help, and his guidance for the tournament. It got to the point of where people actually thought it was his tournament (the participatants who were there) and they were asking him questions. He did not touch one game at all the entire day. He helped direct, run, and put the tournament together. Not to take anything away from other cats who helped like Metalmike, Xero, etc. But Iceman was a huge help.

Not only that but afterwards during the Season’s beating 3 trip he told me several key ideas, theories, etc. about how to run tournaments better. Shortly after, that was when he and I had our beef. But during that entire beef and as he said he never once hopped into my threads and posted things to make my threads look bad or mess up my attendence.

And it was many people within the scene who wanted him to return back and help again at the following tournaments. It was people in the scene who wanted our beef to end so that he could come back and offer his help and turn the tournament around. I can’t tell you how many times different people at IC3 and 4 came to me telling me how Ice and I should end our beef and how he should help again, because they knew his dedication, hard work, and how much oragnization and leadership he brings to the table.

Now you may ask why IC2 was ran like it was even though he helped? Well, for one, we didn’t have any meetings before hand. He just showed up and started helping on a whim. It was late notice on my part in informing him and thus we weren’t on the same page. However, he worked as hard as he could the day of the tournament to bring as much order to what chaos had happened. If you were to go into the forums and read right after IC2 going to IC3 while we were getting along he even stated that he wanted to go to the next room with me to make sure it would have enough outlets, enough room was there, and that everything would be straight. He was going to work with me from day 1 until the day of Impact Clash 3 but our beef started shortly after that.

But the point is you know how Iceman will speak his mind and give it to you 100% raw. We all know that but yet he resisted coming into my Impact Clash 3 and 4 threads and writing bad things and getting people to not come strictly for his love for the scene. Even if he was not apart of Impact Clash and even if he disliked me the organizer just the simple fact that it as an event for the scene where the top of GA could meet together and play, get better, and the scene could grow, he did not want to destory something like that over a personal beef that he and I had. The same with Larry, for the sake of the scene the misunderstandings Larry and I have had were squashed due to his love for the scene and wanting to keep it together and focused on the games and not the drama.

So even though he may come off as headstrong it’s almost like he has earned his right to be so with how much work he’s put into creating a scene for Georgia. And also how he has been trying, and trying, to advocate for Georgia to travel and get our names known out there. That way when we have tournaments other cities will want to come down here to play us since we can to their cities and showed them how solid we are. And he’s been the only one I’ve seen organizing and putting up the money to get a van, hotel rooms, etc. to get us to different tournaments. And what to people do, say they are going to come and the day of the tournament the numbers begin to dwindle and he always find himself left holding the bag with only one or two people willing to go. Don’t you think you’d be frustrated by now if people dipped on you that many times? Yet he still tries.

So in closing, although he may come off as harshly if you read what he actually says he is actually saying things that make sense. It was becasue of him I came up with Atlanta Revival. I read an earlier post of him writing that we need a constant form of competition that everyone can attend. Thus, everyone can ride the train, bus, and drive to the GWCC. That way most of GA can attend a constant monthly event and get the scene revived again. So my hat goes off to him and many of us in GA do as well.

Wow, I don’t check shoryuken for a day and I miss all of the talk of GX and this side of town…

Shadow…preciate the support. I hope you enjoyed yourself enough this weekend to pop in every now and then. We attempted to give you a little comp in SF. I just might get a little more practice in to get better prepared. Also if you do show up more often (regularly) the handful of fighters that do come will give you more of the comp that you expect. It was just bad timing like I said (with Memorial weekend and Graduations).

Iceman…nothing but respect for you. On the outside looking in you do seem as if you just come down on people but reading your post all the time and just from the one time I meet you and talk to you for less than 30mins I know you don’t speak in disrespect/anger its just you. Straight forward to the point, ya know… Thats cool with me.

Gamers Xperience…
**We are not aimed to any particular age group or genre…it just so happens that our crowd base has been 70% high schoolers and under. This side of town is heavy shooters and sports. I know this just by speaking to managers at EB/Gamestop. They don’t stock too many fighters in the stores here but if you go deep Gwinnett the stores are stacked with fighters. Same goes the other way, you won’t find tons of sports stocked in deep Gwinnet but come to Lithonia/Conyers/Decatur and you find a endless supply of Madden, Halo, and Live/2K. Why this is, I’m not sure…
**We are aiming to be the place to find major comp in any genre in the near future especially fighters. So don’t give up on us just yet. There are a lot of big plans in the works for Gamers Xperience. I’ll leave it at that for now…don’t want to jinx anything (knocking on wood, lol).

My opinion…
If we don’t start to work together in creating a bigger community then it will continue to be this way. The new and potential people/comp will never come out unless we spread it out. And this is not just a effort to build my business…I am saying this because I am a hardcore gamer myself. I used to be hardcore SoulCal, VF, and MvsC2 but due to the lack of interest on this side of town I lost almost all interest in it. We need to spread the love. Even if my center isn’t setup to proper standard I would love to assist in doing something somewhere somehow on this side of town to show people that such a community does exist, ya know…

:rolleyes::wink::rolleyes:

I had a great time this weekend.
I feel like I learned a lot about SFIV.
A big thanks to everyone who took the time to sit down and play with me.
Special thanks to Nado (sp?), Clint, and JasonL.
Not Marty, though. That guy’s a jerk. XD (Marty is too cool)

The post-EP shenanigans were top tier, too.
Props to Derek for providing housing, snacks, transport, and entertainment in the form of RUNNING MAN and TIME COP.
It’s sad that we didn’t get to see the Street Fighter movie… Maybe next time. ;o

Oh, and apparently I live like 10 minutes away from you, Derek.
Let me know if you ever want to get some games going.

One last thing, I won’t be able to make it to Waba for the SFIV tournament today (sunday).
I’ll definitely try for next time, though.

I’m gonna be there, Mike usually is there and some other folks I’m sure you know. It’s usually pretty good and lots of casuals afterwards. Probably only like 15 min form where you’re staying I believe

I’m gonna beat your ass if you show up today lol

Draaaaaaaama!!! Why dont you guys just fight and get it over with. Lol! JK. Anyway EP was fun. Good games to everyone. Some guys need to stop acting like bitches when they lose matches. Complaining, Making excuses & whining like little girls. Thats some Bitch Ass behavior. Real talk. Its a video game guys and we are adults act like it. Other than that good shit as usual. Next time i need to bring 2 cases of beer that shit went quick XD

I just played some Japanese player called Doinosuke on 2Df in Alpha 3. Needless to say I got scraped. But it is nice playing Japanese players in games like the Alpha series. Unlike the Brazilians where they try gimmicky bullshit like crossups and stupid frame traps like ALL match. The Japanese basically tear you up by beating you with footsies. This guy had a sick V-Dhalsim, and had some many slick setups. He definitely isn’t Vegas Cup material, but very very good. I must admit I was able to hang in there with him with my footsies. Japanese players really make you think which makes the game fun. Brazilians players lose a lot when you get past their gimmicky bullshit.

Nice nice, I talked to Eddie last night and he said he was planning on going too.

I’ll be there this afternoon, How early do people start showin up? Eddie said registration starts at 2 but I dont want to show up at 2 and be the only one there… but would also like to get some games in beforehand

I’ll be there between 230&3

I finally got your email and I will check out your track while I am editing these Augusta Singles tournament videos sir’.
thanks for letting me listen

You hanging with anyone is a sheer utter fantasy. based upon the character they use there SUPPOSED to use frame traps, crossup’s etc. It’s Called “Playing to Win”

Explain please sir’ I might have missed this instance

Glad you came out bro’, hope you got some positive knowledge to use in the near future

I appreciate your words haywood
