Ok the place isn’t built for the [COLOR=“DarkOrange”]“Fighting Game Community” which is what I already stated previously and YOU just went over there to find out on your own accord… and just posted in this thread… so now what… you want us to GO OUT THERE and BUILD A COMMUNITY for fighting… HOW??
They are not competitive in regards to **“Fighting Games”**by a long shot, you can’t BUILD a community by just going to a spot and just whooping people’s ass, they have to WANT to get better, they have to want to BE BETTER, They have to want to get and or be competitive.
The location is built for ages 8-18 and those who are teenagers between 15-19 who do attend put more effort and work into Shooters and Sports, they are HUGE on 2k Baskeball/Football.
Ok they added a ton of T.V’s, bigger or wider space…
What does that have to do with the competition, the actual GAMING ASPECT of it all huh??
You know the real reason why people COMPLAIN about Impact Clash Tournaments how they are run, parking, entry fee’s etc etc… Yet they still attend… “COMPETITION” because they know there is a STRONG possibility the best of the best in Ga will be there.
Think before you get offended and post all upset, why not YOU go there ALONE or with the people like MPR, J-Dash who already live on that side of town and possibly BUILD the competition level and your community, rather than posting on SRK about the location all half cocked when you KNOW we all travel in packs like wolves or soldiers, we come there 30 deep just to rape everyone there and leave them discouraged upset and in one fell swoop we KILL the would be could be future competition. :rolleyes: [/COLOR]
thats not what im trying to say…I just wanted to host a tournament or gathering which is allowed…I was told that the shop can be closed to the public just for that particular reason…

It was built for all types of games…but I was told I could hold a gathering JUST for fighters…I dont want to build a community I just thought since it was a center why not find out about it and throw a simple gathering…

Shadow, don’t listen to him, He’s still convinced hes the only person who has any influence on the scene in GA. Not sayin you’ve not done anything Breeze, but you really take way too much credit for people playing SF in GA.
Why are you flippin out about him wanting to have games a new venue? It could very easily bring new players out that don’t know about the scene that already exists.

The point I made was VALID those who attended the place like Eddie, Itachi understand my point of view.
When we go to these places the the main attraction is “Fighting Games” for us the SRK community.
You know how many times people have attempted to get larry to throw sports at a fighting game tournament… the mix just doesn’t work, look at the confusion we have when ever we invite smash, there is always a big arguement about Smash not being a legit fighting game blah blah blah.
And you all spend so much time trying to make personal attacks yet don’t know shit.
Read my post, I said nothing about ME having anything to do with PEOPLE playing SF, had you and he READ the posts from Eddie or Jason L or Itachi a few pages back you would not have made such an ignorant post.
Shadow wanting to have a “GATHERING” attaches more weight than just a few people coming there to game, the distance, the size, the parking, the competition are all fucking factors which is my point and has always BEEN MY POINT, if he or smithspot are trying to build or rise a community over there then they do no need the full fledged army of SRK’ers to come there to get the ball rolling especially if they are already competitive and are already INTERESTED in fighting games, and taking them to the next level in general.

Iceman might be a spokesperson for georgia, but go back and look at his posts. Half of them are him talking down to someone in the community for no reason and being generally inflammatory. Especially annoying since I hardly ever see him playing and instead see him just being abrasive. (granted, I’m pretty sure hes kicked it back into gear some for SF4)
When did I claim to have authority? All I’ve ever been lookin to do is get good games in with new people / old homies. I’ve spent a lot more time getting games in with Atl and making friends with the people down here than you have. Might be because I actually try to get to gatherings and play shit, instead of just making myself sick over what new game I’m gonna tell everyone I’m playing this week.

I got heat when ATL no showed Seaons Beatings after all the shit talk and only Xero, East Point + Magnicious attended ONLY
I got heat when Impact Clash #2 was going into the crapper, not enough stations, not enough plugs, tournament time running to long

Ask everyone who showed up LAST NIGHT to the big gathering at east point how many casual matches I played or DIDN’T play because I was trying to setup the Round Robin 5 on 5 tournmanet to face augusta at revival or when ever

I agree with Iceman on this debate. Granted, as a neutral party, it won’t affect me either way where you guys go to play Street Fighter IV(hate that game), but even so, while it is important that you bring new people into the scene, it’s equally important to know who really wants to be a part of this community and who just wants to play Street Fighter IV because it’s hip and 1337 right now. Once the pr0 g4m3rzzz move on to Call of Halo: Gears of Modern Combat Evolved 8: Los Angeles and Street Fighter IV no longer has the spotlight, the people who are still here will be the people who deserve attention, and those people would care enough about the game to find the scene themselves.
I’m not trying to propagate an illusion of exclusivity here. I’m just saying that there will be people claiming to be fighting game enthusiasts because of the popularity of Street Fighter IV, and those people will be more of a burden than a benefit. Those people will be looking for Street Fighter IV events at the same places they frequent for their little Halo get-togethers. Ask yourself: do you really want that?

smithspot is a cool dude…a family man…doing good things…I came to him about seeing if he was interested in doing a gatherings…he doesnt charge much…and I like alot of things in there…its comfortable…spacious…air conditioning…and I can watch the NBA playoff’s while im focus canceling on some people in SF4.
its a chill place…I just wanted others to see if they like it…
