Wow, was that Brandon? Jesus Christ. Here I was thinking I was bad.
Dude, did you forget Guile’s crounching fierce anti-air? That’s very useful against jump ins. Also, if you know someone is going to jump kick or jump in the air Guile has an air throw so you can quickly jump in the air and press the grab command to throw them out the air. You can’t let someone control the air like that.
Branh, you’ve totally got me figured out. I must have been playing at 100% capacity while playing you, and that results in me just jumping all the time. That must be why I won, right? I just kept jumping and snuffing out the ONE thing you were doing to try and stop my jump-ins?
I think you’re in for so much fucking surprise if you think you’ve “figured” me out from some match where I treated you like some random online scrub (practicing my jump-in distances and links). I’ve been playing Ryu for a week. Imagine what would happen if I actually picked someone I knew how to play really well. SFIV isn’t even a game I’m great at, but you just happen to suck BIG MUTHA FACKIN balls at it. You need more of a reality check than just a video, it seems.
::EDIT::
Mike says he perfected you. Take it up with him if it’s false. Mike’s got an infinite amount of more credibility than you do, though.
darkballin, i think you weren’t here during the time of Branh’s pre-SFIV era, where he claimed he’d be the best in the state. I suppose it’s nearly impossible to miss his preaching-posts these days where he tries to put on a front of skill and experience. All I know is that a minister of defense wouldn’t have have only one option for any particular given situation. That’s all.
(…and I feel like poking fun at him. He’s just too much of a joke right now to pass up, especially when he thinks I won because I simply kept jumping at him )
Or you can just stand up and block it.
Go watch your Pool Matches against Clint on youtube. You did the same shit, just kept eating jumpin after jumpin.
Learn to block high, sometimes you gotta give up that charge, get over it.
I know all of Guile’s options. I was just thrown off. Notice that whenever I did anti-air, he’d jump again. C.FP doesn’t handle crossups. Basically he’d jump even if he did get ant aired. Which threw me off, since it obviously never gave him a disincentive not to jump. So I have to find away to ground him indefinitely it he tries to followup jump after an anti-air. I had a match against Metal Mike’s Ryu, where I clearly did better. But notice Metal Mike doesn’t play as erratic and random.
Not cool, dude. Rape is not something to joke about.
Edit: just read the other posts up to this one. We’ll see next time. Branh, do ur best, but let’s not hype anything up just yet. Show them with your fists… (or fingers). Branh may claim to be able to adapt well, but personally I don’t like playing Eddie. He doesn’t let me hit him. I’m just happy he didn’t pick rufus on me. Still, I would have beat his Bison if his buttons didn’t work. Real talk.
eddy!!! Your secret is OUT!!! All you do is jump! I’ll never lose to you again!!!
You beat my Ryu during tournament. I played Ryu very poorly during tournament…I honestly have no idea why I played him at all during the tourney…However, during casuals I beat you pretty soundly while I was playing my pad Ryu. You said you have trouble against Ryu. That was a valid reaction. Don’t go around claiming you figured someone out, cuz you have no idea. Just say you have trouble in that match up. It makes you sound like less of a joke.
Yep. Everybody in GA can beat me now, since all I do is jump randomly without any thought towards whether or not I’m getting AA’ed.
Must suck for me, since I play people like Gief, Honda, Seth, etc etc, and I’ve gotta jump all the time.
oh wai-…
I got $20 on Eddie
sorry eddie…
I guess now is better than never.
It’s Eddie, Mike.
 Eddy was getting kind of weird to read, LOL
I’ve never been one to try to preach some gaming knowledge in a community thread, so I’ll keep this brief and simple. Branh, you can’t teach someone not to jump if you fucking suck at timing the AA’s to begin with. I jumped up neutral to see what’d you do, and you STILL c. fp with Guile. Why would I be afraid to jump if my opponent’s timing completely blows?
Not, I’m not saying you win every match by jumping. I’m saying you won the match against me by jumping. And it’s plane to see that even if I did anti-air you, you’d jump again after that. Which is confusing to me, since most people usually don’t jump after they are anti aired. Anyway, I’ll review some of your other matches to learn how to snuff your general play style.
Good luck. Eddie plays like 6 characters, all completely differently, and he adapts quickly. Trust me, I play him all the time. You aren’t gonna learn much by watching videos.
Why is there a need to review my other videos? I thought you said you had an answer for my erratic jumping.
Let’s run a FT5, if you’ve got me figured out. I won’t even pick Ryu, since I seem to “throw you off” from all my jumping. Btw, don’t get perfected by another person’s character who they’ve been learning for a week. They’ll rub it in your face for the rest of your life.
darkballin, we gotta play some more after I get more free time during the summer. You pick up things pretty quick . And, i think you’d beat my bison too if my buttons didn’t work . Forward, Back, crouch, and jump isnt gonna net me any wins
I think one of the reasons people (including myself) like to jump in on Guile in SF4 is that his anti airs really blow. C. FP is ok with the correct timing, but other than that all you have is the air throw, which is really good.
Branh, since we tied at the last tournament, I guess we are of equal skill level. Would you like to MM? If not, its ok, no disrespect.
I just had my last final today, wooooooooooooooooooooo!
Yes, I do have trouble versus shotos in general. But I beat Wanton X Ken and your Ryu. I also beat BallinJin Akuma. It’s clear that I have no problem doing okay against people who play safely. It may be a bad matchup for Guile, but I do know the match up. The thing is I’ve been trained to look for certain things in the matchup which Eddie clearly wasn’t doing. And yeah, continous jump-ins and crossup attempts is what I’m generally weak against. I use to have the same problem in ST. It’s clear Guile has no real crossup defense in this game as he does in ST. But then again I have to get use to blocking them, which admittedly I’m pretty bad at and don’t want to do.
Sidebets anybody?
I got $10 on Derek.
Yeah, exactly. You don’t adapt well. You have a game plan and have trouble deviating from it. You need to work on that.
BTW, don’t get too happy about beating my Ryu, I don’t play him lol.
Yeah, I’ll do FT5 for $20. And you can choose Ryu. I have no problem with losing, because at least I can point out why I lost. I understand you’ll be at the Augusta tourney this week. But if you show up at Atlanta Revival, I’ll be there. I prefer to play on PS3 however.
You can use my stick if you need.
Sidebets anyone?
