They say it’s suppose to go into effect this coming fall.
hey… there totally wasnt any BIONIC AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARM! on page 3
also desk was on wakeupsrk?!?! thisll be the first one ive listened to :amazed:
Would anyone be interested in coming to my place for some Marvel 3 tonight?
Haven’t been able to play a human being in about a week now.
they also nerfed pre-k programs and trade/tech school’s financial aid.
I actually think the HOPE nerf might actually decrease the amount of money I have to pay for school by a little bit. But that’s because the math/finance here is all over the place for no reason.
But still, that is such a stupid change amongst the other educational things around here.
Hmm I always thought organic chemistry was the most basic chemistry class you can take. Since it deal with chemical phenomena at a macroscoptic level. I thought any high school would offer it anyway. But then again, I suck at chemistry, and glad I haven’t taken a chemistry class in at least 14 years.
In any case, not sure how I feel about a hope scolarship reform. Since I’m long out of college and pretty deep into my career. I also wouldn’t even qualify for it since I graduated high school in like 1997 ( and went to college WITHOUT Hope). Still I’m assuming something didn’t balance out. Government programs are always subject to reform, and this is probably due to the amount of money that could be lost with something like hope. Universities are still revenue generating entities, so money has to come from somewhere. In something like Hope, your taxes are going to pay for it. While many here are still in college and don’t really pay taxes, for us people who do (and pay tons of them), you definitely don’t want more taxes. Of course I’m not a big fan of programs like Hope scolarship because it’s goverenment meddling in universities business. But it has helped plenty of people attend college, but it is possible to get through college without it.
@Bananas8462: I’m not taking it as an attack, but I will debate what you said.
You called the game one of the most broken things you’ve ever played and then told me if I know what I’m doing alot of my issues can be stopped. That’s just not what it means to be broken which side are you on here?
-
I understand multiple things on screen can restrict attacking but I made a call, I was right, now I’m hitting you and I have confirmation to continue the combo, but that’s not good enough? I have to respect the fact that your assist controls space independent of your point character and enough when I know I can call you on a bad play I have to wait 5 seconds for your crap to leave the screen or my guaranteed punish is instead my mistake? That’s like the debate we had on trade uppercut: I get punished for you fucking up? You say all VS games are like that but CvS wasn’t this way and you say that was the case for MvC2 but I never saw shit that like that being so prevalent that it happens repeatedly across a single game, I didn’t play MvC2 so I may be wrong, but from watching it get played it seems a lot less gay in this aspect.

First of all you can’t stop the hope to stop the power up and tag out cause she can gong at a height that you can’t poke through or square jump around power up behind it then tag out instantly also super jumping is too slow to get to her before the next character is safe. Secondly, if you do snap her in what are you going to do? You can’t touch her till the armor’s gone because she can combo you if you try to touch her because she’s completely unaffected by hit stun, so I guess you run away and let her set up another gong/armor/safe tag. In the end what did you accomplish?
-
“That’s the way Phoenix is” So she’s completely ridiculous and I can’t stop her? Oh wait your right I could snap her in early and kill her there, but what if she teleport’s away and sets some traps or slow tracking fireballs to safe tag behind? So then I spent one bar snapping her for no gain when I could’ve just used it for a bigger combo on the starting character?
-
You didn’t really offer a counter point here, so all I’ll say is I’ve never seen low health truly balance out ridiculous/broken characters and I don’t care at all for this reasoning. Example: Who cares if you can kill Phoenix with a sneeze if you can never touch her?
-
I believe Marty said that in TvC push blocking completely negated chip what’s better than that? But more to the issue is that some moves frame trap themselves to where your options are risk push block to reduce chip/push them off you and maybe get hit whiffing a normal and taking real damage or continue to eat whatever they throw at you. My main problem here is that the game is favoring thoughtless aggression.
-
Moves seeming godlike in certain situations are fine, but there are crazy amounts of moves that are amazing anytime with zero risk.
So what are the real problems then? I thought the lack of checks and balances throughout the game-play as a whole was more than enough to be called a major problem.
I know some of you are going to write this off as stupid bitching claiming “You just don’t understand VS games” or “Bullshit is intentional deal with it” and that’s fine if you love playing completely abusive characters and just doing shit then go ahead and play the fuck out of this game. It’s Mahvel Baybee

also: if you have 2chars worth of lifelead on a 5bar pheonix, (&ofc easier said than done. bionic arm helps!) the awesomest thing you can possibly do to her is run like fkn hell & time her out… especially if you can get her down within pixels of dying & refuse to attack. theyre like “KILL ME PLZ!” its precious
im still having fun w/it… i just play my friends.
@spookydonkey: That reminds me of another thing that pisses me off about this game, having 3 characters versus their last doesn’t mean you have an advantage.
That is fucking stupid. Out of all the things Ga could nerf to save some money, why in the fuck would you nerf the cost of education??? If you ever wonder why Ga is usually in the bottom of the list when it comes to education standards, shit like this is why.
Not to say you shouldn’t be trying to ace all your classes, but putting that much pressure on top of your default pressure just to save a few dollars makes no real sense. A 3.2-3.3 would’ve been straight, but 3.7? Stress for your ass.
And what kind of black soul would nerf Pre-K? Arghhhhh.
Amount of characters alive has no real indication of advantage. One character can set themselves up to potentially kill entire teams in all versus games.
edit: especially if the entire team has less life than your one character
im not trying to be a smart ass, i promise… doesnt that just make it “youre never certain youre not @ disadvantage” for the entire game(& series) then?
& while it very well might not be a clear indicator, id rather have 2 or more chars of life lead vs any one single char than 1v1
I guess it doesn’t matter since I’m transferring, but a semester at GA Southern is about $6000-$7000. One year would be $12,000-$14,000. Times four years $48,000-$56,000. That’s a whole lotta money without support from HOPE. At least I got PELL
HOPE isn’t funded by taxes. it mainly thrives on the lottery, and generally middle to low income homes play the lottery.
Also, with the amount of amenities offered by colleges, the money has to come from somewhere (i.e. student’s pockets).
GA state just got a football team, my tuition went up a couple hundred.
Technology fee’s and whatnot were also tacked on to buy new equipment, but fees like that and Mandatory fee’s are not covered by HOPE, which can get in excess of $300-$500 on top of the extremely expensive books that we are forced to buy. Many being special school editions which cannot be bought used or online.
I’m not sure where you got your information from, but I started college at 18. I worked since I was 16 and have paid taxes since.
ask anyone with a PhD and they’ll tell you that they’re still repaying their school loans well into their 40’s. Pair that with the fact that the importance of the Associates/Bachelor’s degree waining, and although you see tuition rising, teacher’s wages still continue to decline.
you can be sure to see the GA education system taking a nosedive.
a 3.7 is pretty hard to maintain while working to pay for tuition, books, and living expenses. I also thought they’d just raise it to 3.2-3.4
that ^^
Well there’s some obvious cases, but I’m talking about some single overwhelming characters with the ability to one shot other characters and take out whole teams. Sent and Phoenix come to mind.
well outside of college the school systems are taking major hits in their respective financial departments and they are budget cutting to the max. teachers are making less now and god forbid if you are a sub, Ive read somewhere that a substitute teacher was making nearly $8 an hour and its maybe even less than that but it all depends on the location im guessing…
@aerist whats your degree and major?
maintaining a 3.7 is going to be nearly impossible especially you work full time and have a family(either or) the books and “other expenses” are going to add up quickly. You think I want to spend all of my time constantly stuck in a textbook struggling to keep my eyes open during class? there are other forms of aid but the HOPE program was really reliable…
HOPE nerf…Im thinking this may have an effect on other forms in aid in the long run though
Undeclared. Thinking Nursing or Logistics.
How did we get sidetracked from the main crap?
Oh yeah…salty is so 2009
it’s all about SEASONING niggas now
And all these reasons are why people don’t like to go to college as well. A 3.7 is friggin retarted, 3.2-3.3 is straight but damn, I might as well have a 4.0 GPA & get scholarships for that in addition to being broke as shit, gotta love GA.
