@marty~ you completely misunderstand me. What part of my post implied that mk9 is flawless? The negative edge window is stupid design, there are ways to ensure that you always get the right special but they’re weird and unnecessary. Hitboxes are really screwy, as I’ve said before. But none of the flaws I experience have anything to do with making the game feel sluggish. Aerial attacks stopping jump animations abruptly is a stylistic choice across mk games, it’s kinda useful with neutral jumps to stop momentum and bait anti-airs.
My matches against that reptile player felt really fast paced and intense. I interpret sluggish as meaning slow or unresponsive and I don’t get that impression. the fact that you think I’m an mk fanboy because I disagree with your opinion is amusing. I know how to recognize a good competitively interesting game, and that’s what MK9 is.
There ARE ways to get the special you want when there are two with the same directionals and they’re not hard. There’s a thread on test your might about it.
So I dl’ed joy2key but I’m having some problems. My buttons are reading correctly but the actual directions on my stick aren’t working properly. I don’t have numpad arrows on my laptop, so is that the reason I’m having problems?
You need to go to the others tab in Joy2Key and check the box next to Use POV Switches.
Also, if you can’t map the numpad inputs, you probably won’t be able to map controls for a player 2 without using Xpadder, since Xpadder has a virtual keyboard you can use for selecting inputs.
just letting some people know,
if you were a regular who came over a lot.
we’re doing it invitationals only now unfortunately, since some people are unable to respect my shit and my apartment.
with that said, if you want to come over, open night will only be sat night.
if you call us and ask and plan, then we may do things during the week, but no more walk-ins.
this is my home, not an arcade.
Cyber Sub’s bomb is ff+3 which makes it so you can’t dash and then use a normal with 3. Also since throw is 1+3 you can’t do that after dashing either. Joe came over today and after I showed him this he asked if the throw button would work. I tried it and it did, so he can dash and throw if you assign throw to a button, but he cannot dash and use s.3 or c.3 which to my understanding is where one of his better strings starts from.
I don’t remember referring to you as a fanboy, but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt. I never said that you thought MK was flawless, but so far as it being a good game in comparison with its competition, I HIGHLY disagree for the reasons stated before. I can go over the reasons time and time again as to why the game is not great, but it won’t matter. You’ll either enjoy it for what it is, regardless of its flaws, or you’ll recognize them at some point and maybe not play any more. Either way, I don’t care, and I don’t want to type anything else about it. I hope MK surpasses Call of Duty in popularity and Ed Boon becomes the richest man ever. Then, I can truly feel sorry for game developers that come up with good or innovative ideas that help steer gaming in a good direction, but will never make the money that Ed Boon has made.
I might be a small fellow, but if people started coming up in my place like dicks, I’d find a way to beat the shit out of you. I watch WWE so I know some crunk shit that I could to some of you big and tall ass people:karate:
It’s always unfortunate when certain people just assume shit is an open house. Good hospitality can lead to that when you are entertaining rude people frequently. I hope that what broke the camels back wasn’t anything that we are going to have to round up an old style possy for?
Also, I’m just going to post up what I posted on facebook:
I don’t see how Richard Warren lives with that kind of openness. If that were me, and people were just showing up and inviting themselves in, I would be super pissed. People need to learn to respect other peoples privacy a little.
I would say that asking before acting is something everyone should get into the habit of doing. I myself know that I like to have nearly a week in advance notice, so I try and be courteous and give the same kind of berth.
Mortal Kombat 9:
I sold a bunch of crap games and got this today for basically free. Who are some characters that can start combos off both overheads and lows?
PSN People better be ready for the raping of everyone that isn’t Ryu (Unless a mirror) when the network gets back up.
You can block-cancel the dash too, but the fact remains that he is the only character who cannot cancel a dash with a throw. There will be a few frames of delay regardless of what you have to do to compensate for that, and in this game as in most fighting games, a few frames makes the difference between taking a hit and giving one.
pressing back doesn’t cancel the dash, it only makes the input buffer “forget” the FF input. FK cancels the dash without getting a bomb, there is no frame delay if you do it correctly. This should also apply to throws.
