For people that are interested in Cyrax -

IMO, he’s a decent character but he has very clear weaknesses and bad match-ups. Like UMK3, characters with good teleports like Smoke are a huge bitch to deal with because Cyrax’s projectiles have so much start-up. I’ve experimented a bunch with combos and AFAIK his damage output is noticeably lower than average from typical hitconfirms. He also feels really reliant on meter because EX Bomb is his best ground launcher, his only other one is b.BP which does way lower damage than BP FP EX Bomb. I still need to experiment with his wall juggles though.

However, there is some really cool stuff about him. Just before launch there was a patch to fix Cyrax’s infinite, which was caused by teleport reseting his net. But they didn’t fix it all the way. If you catch them on the ground with net, teleport behind them and juggle you can still do another net for more damage. Cyrax has to have one of the best command throws in the game, its on-hit animation is so long you have enough time to do medium bomb, dash, FP FP FP. The jabs force them to eat the bomb no matter what they do, be it block or get hit or jump out, turning his command throw into a 40-50% combo. I even caught someone who tried to combo breaker out of the string too early, he still ate the bomb and got juggled

I just want to say that the more AH3 players, the better.

Glad to see that you know what’s up.

I like Marty’s reasoning for turning the sidebars on. The game rewards you constantly with them on. Getting comboed? You can look at them sidebar titties. Doing a combo? You can look at them sidebar titties if you know the combo well enough. Just bored? You can look at them sidebar titties.

It doesn’t work quite the same while playing Eko, but the party hard victory animation is godlike.

Just figured I would say, it’s probably a little bit early to start saying why characters aren’t good and are good in MK because that could change very quickly or might not matter at all. To me, it looks like a lot of characters have very similar options.

I don’t take that as a cut at all. I’ve been a shut-in for a long-ass fuckin’ time. For what it’s worth, I was at Final Round, but other than that, I haven’t been able to come out and play anything for a really long time. No money, no car, no job…but I met someone on TYM that seems willing to cart over to my place every now and again and take me about town, so that’s something. I really love Mortal Kombat so I’m eager to play it with people.
