I’m kind of an odd case. I orginally started out in the command center/operatations (Network Operation Center), then I eventually move into becoming a Solaris Admin. Back in 2007 that kind of changed and I went into the applications and development world. I was doing Weblogic/Websphere administration. So basically my focus now is Jave Enterprise Edition Application server, or applications in general. My specialization is middleware. I’m essentially as close to being a developer without being one. I know all of the development concepts, the fixes, and even know how to read the code, but I don’t develope. I fix an issue by reconfiguring something, and if I need developement, I normally put a code fix into the development process. I?f any of that makes any sense. In either case, my job isn’t that bad. But I went from Netowrk Operations/Datacenter to Application Support/Development. So I’ve been changing titles a lot. I just hope to settle down into Oracle Databases and be done with it.
As far as MCSE is concerned, I don’t know a great deal about it. I’m not the best Windows guy in the world.

i understand that, but you kind of missed the point of my comment. you shouldn’t be hating a game because of the people that play it. it’s just ridiculous to let people have that kind of power over you. i considered quitting SSF4 due to the community in this state for about 24 hours before just telling myself that they can all go to Hell, and that I will play as long as I enjoy it. The second all enjoyment is gone from the game, then I’m gone as well. Simple as that.

well, i hate Brawl because it is a bad competitive game. i actually have a lot of friends that play it, but i will not play that game again in tournaments…

I don’t play Super because I don’t like it, simple as that, if I do turn out to like MvC3, that’s what it is. But yeah, I can’t let the ignorant people sway me from liking a game, never done that & won’t start doing it now.

The only problem with that is most of the pad players HATE the default 360 pad. That’s the main reason I use ps3 at my tournaments. No dick riding involved. Just a better system for the overall masses. Of course most of the hardcore fighting game scene are playing on 360, but how many of them are 360 pad users? Also people that play in ps2 tournament games like 3s, melty blood, and cvs2 USUALY have a ps2-ps3 converter. I only know of 1 person in georgia that has a 360 converter (ShinKuuR) and it goes to the Sega Saturn or PS1 controllers.
I have both systems so I really don’t care and don’t notice any difference in 360 or ps3 ssf4. I also have a modded joystick so I can play on any system, but I know most people don’t have a modded joint! That is just me, but a lot of people complain about the difference in timing of links from ps3 to 360. Maybe since I own both I can adjust to either one, but don’t let a new game start this old CONSOLE WARS debate. I might change fr to 360 for all games in the future, but for this year it will be on ps3.
Another thing is we don’t know if MvC3 will have version differences so it’s too early to call.
I vote PS3 simply because it is a superior piece of hardware, but we can “dick-ride” Microsoft, if need be.
Also, I like how it’s “dick-riding” if we use the PS3, but if we all use a 360, everything is right with the world. God, I hate people…
I believe last Revival they mentioned they were keeping MvC3 on Ps3. I’m also gonna have to agree with Larry that everything is way more convenient keeping things on the PS3. 360 to Ps3 dual mods are so much comparatively easier and cheaper as well.

from what i see now, people are using the FightPads now(blackwhite boi for example). the 360-> ps3 converter is still an issue but people are ajusting on there own. good thing your seeing the light sir.

I pretty much learned everything I know about computers from since I was pretty young. My aspirations was to become a game programmer. But this was back in the mid 90s, and game programming wasn’t a lucrative or even realistic career goal (things have changed now). Overall I only lived and brethed computers 3 years, reading any book I could get my hand on, and finding out how to fix and break stuff. I’ve been working in the field since I was 19, so it’s been my entire adult life. I honestly don’t know how to do anything else.
In terms of learning something, you have to focus on 3 things:
What is it you want to learn, what do you want to do, and do you like it. A lot of people got involved in IT back in the 90s, many them didn’t survive. The main reason for this is that too many people got into it for the money. IT is comprised of very stressful jobs, many times not worth whatever money you think you’re making. So the first thing you have to ask yourself is if you can deal with a lot of stress. I know for one if I miss a deadline, I have to get on a conference with stake holders and high level executives, just because of the SLA of the Applications I support. Though I’ve never missed any deadlines, it can happen, and it’s a pretty stressful thing to go through. In the Applications world, things aren’t as stressful. In the Server Admin/NOC/Datacenter world life is a bit more stressful. Don’t expect to have much of a personal life, and expect to work weekends. I had to leave the infrastructure world because it was stressing me out so bad.
Oh let’s not even get started at random layoffs that happen in IT. If you aren’t ready to constantly look for work, it’s not the field for you. however, it can be a fun industry to work in. I’ve been in it since 1999, and will not be changing careers ever. Just take pride in your work though, and don’t let the BS get to you.
