Too bad I couldn’t make it to Waba this time. Really wish I can hook up with the scene more often just to see how I’d do against everyone in the scene. Clint and Ricky (Pokchop) newb me the fuck out at FRXII, and I’m still waiting for my revenge. At that time I didn’t know how to handle crossups. Crossups are just retarded in SFIV, they seem so free. So maybe I was playing SFIV like I am suppose to play ST. Still my strategy is the same as always, keep people on the ground, force them to play footsies, and bore them to death by blocking everything and counter throwing/teching. It’s not a horrible strategy for me in ST, still anti-airs are weird in SFIV. Seems like I fall for way more jump-ins than I should. Oh well, I think I’ve found a few answers to people who like to cross me up 24/7 and who like to erratically attack me. I’m focusing on footsies where I know I’m stronger than most people in GA at (at least the ones I’ve played). Can’t wait to really work my chops at Impact Clash.
I play with my friend on Fridays, but I’m willing to play 1 person per week from East Point in a money match. I start at the bottom and work to the top. Please throw anyone my way except Excitebeast aka Lebron who I know as Ryan. He is a waste of my time. Anyone else, I’m willing to go against. played mago last night on sf4, and i must say that guy is amazing. played 10 matches and i won 3. his focus attacks r the best ive seen 2 date, and his sagat is the best ive ever seen. much respect 2 mago2dgod. c u at evo2k9.
I think a big part of your problem is that you are playing Guile like it is ST. In SF4 he doesn’t work that way. He doesn’t have the tools to do it. You have to sit back and make them come to you.
I know you keep saying you are the most defensive player in Georgia, but that really isn’t true(not meaning to be offensive or anything). I know that every time we’ve played you constantly came at me. You were almost never on the defense. Now that may be because I play a lot of characters defensively and I love being in the corner(ask Wanton if you don’t believe me, I rarely ever come forward). There is nothing wrong with that, its just I don’t think you are as defensive as you think you are. And to play guile in SF4 you have to be super defensive, because he doesn’t have the offensive options everyone else in the game was blessed with.
I saw this ridiculous Guile player at Arcade Infinity a few days ago. He had like a 20 win streak(and was winning against guys like Keno and somuchdamage). He would just sit back, and only approach when he saw a solid opening, then he would do some big damage.
Now, I’ll say it again, I’m not trying to put you down or anything, just trying to offer a little advice as I see it. I want everyone out here to get better. I’ve been picking up a lot of stuff from the being in the arcades that I will be sharing when i get back.
