Carry Over from the tournament thread
You and what others??
Did you do a background check on Impact Clash, it’s organizer and it’s previous tournaments before making such a post??
You just joined the site the month Final Round was in progress matter of fact you just joined yesterday which probably means this is either “Magnicious” or one of “Magnicious Friends” Join Date: 03-28-2009.
How many Final Rounds have you attended…
How many tournaments in the state of Ga have you attended??
Most of all who are you??
REGIONAL: of or pertaining to a region of considerable extent; not merely local:
of or pertaining to a particular region, district, area, or part, as of a country
That is what Shinblanka labeled his tournament FROM THE BEGINNING, nothing hidden, no lies or underhanded bull. A Regional can gather players from state to state, if SEB was to gather say 15 or 20 from Alabama, 10 from FLA, 5 from S.Carolina, it would now be considered over a normal head count for a “Local Tournament”.
(Hypothetically Speaking)With SEB being held at a center that is currently open for business not just for “US” (the tournament attenders) but for it’s own accord, I feel safe to assume the extra $10.00 bucks will help towards covering up so much space if we were to be a bit over crowded.
Local arcades have done it in the past (though WaBa is not a local arcade)… I implamented that system at both Virtual Reality Rooms (Inside Underground & South Dekalb Mall when we were there) the entry fee was $15.00 the extra $5.00 per person was for the games not being played due to the tournament, often people came to just hang out and watch and the arcade sometimes missed it’s weekly quota, which means in the long run the game center has something to gain by having us there this one time maybe twice of of the year yet just as much too lose with having us there.
The WaBa owner I’m sure charges an entry free for his pay and play spot.
If Shinblanka has the ability to shut down this guys business for 8 hours or an entire day then yes the owner needs to be compensated.
its cool , we will do battle some other time. trying to get some support 4 the gathering i trying to have, so if u know any serious players interested let me know. no fee involved just need more systems and tvs.
He does.
Some issues that were not addressed
Dude im going off of your words you told EVERYONE else.
You told the COMMUNITY you had…
Microsoft (Sponsorship)
Red-Bull (Sponsorship)
Ea-Sports, Cut you a check + (Sponsorship)
last but not least those damn Console Kings (Sponsorship)
If you had… All those sponsors… How in the Blue HELL do you STILL consider a $20.00 entry viable for our particular city & community??
We are not NY, Nor Cal, Dallas or Houston TX.
You’ve sat down and gamed with almost all of us, you hung around with East Point Crew, you can feel safe too converse with all of us about your upcoming tournaments but not our money woes (If you were trust worthy enough) ???
This dates back to a poitn I brought to your attention MONTH’s ago…
WHY DO YOU HAVE TO HOLD LARGE TOURNAMENTS IN THE FIRST PLACE??
Doug-ville ain’t even local, it’s no where near busline, it’s in route to birmingham alabama, how does this better suit the community??
Step in???
It’s YOUR TOURNAMENT… YOU shouldn’t have to step in anywhere, You should be as hands on as anyone else there, this is the very same issue you and I had in the past, whether people like me or not, Omnislash, MPR, Itachi etc all of us had minor beef at the time BUT… I RAN YOUR TOURNAMENT FOR YOU.
I was the one who had to tell them “No you can’t get in free dispite you bringing your equipment” and right after that you allowed them in on half-entry fee so behind my back you made me look like the bad guy, then stabbed me in it when all I was trying to do was bring order to what was sheer utter chaos
You are once again blame-ing your mishaps on the staff when it was you not being where ever the tournament, the community NEEDED YOU TO BE.
Had you shown up for Final Round you would have seen, no matter what was going on, Shinblanka was always visible and inside the action, always there to quickly solve and issue if there was one.
I was helping run SC4, Marvel, I even helped call out for people in Tekken from time to time to help Iceage out and he runs Tekken solid every year, on top of all that… I was in tournaments, while from your words just reading you were just sitting near the money doing brackets AGAIN just like Impact Clash #2
Why is Impact Clash having a qualifier in the first place… Please read your own posts like we all do, you continue to stand by the fact that you created Impact Clash to be… a “Local Tournament” since when have people needed to qualify for a LOCAL tournament dude??
YOU say your motives have been the same since day one… how??
You claim you lost money at Impact Clash#1… yet at Impact Clash #2 you be-friended me to help you EXPAND your tournament, give it a bit more structure, a suitable amount of people and I did that… matter of fact I broke the bank and got you 140 more people than I estimated so with IC2… you treated it like a major, added more days despite me telling you… “You do not have a staff why have all these games”.
I can understand you wanting your baby/idea to grow but it takes time and patience which you continue to show you do not have, after every tournament your adding something you consider bigger and better but are they really bigger and better for the community or for you and your little project??
Your motives are questionable because for a supposed small and local tournament you have incoorperated the help of MAJOR NAMES such as Eric V and Justin Wong. Nothing wrong with gathering information and getting some help but you do realize those names alone tend to gather just as many other big names and you have to have the facility, the games, the competition, we need a senseable forum for our local tournament to at least COMPETE against those names let alone our own talent.
The Scene
We need time and exposure, alot of these places like Nor_cal, NY are better than us off top is mainly because they get games damn near one year too 5 months BEFORE we do.
Cal hosts tournaments so close to each other it seems damn near everyweek.
They get seasoned that way.
I would like too incoorperate this very same method for the State of Ga.
This year I think is the fighting game boom.
There isn’t much motivation to play Tekken DR or SC4 outside of tournaments these days due to the release of SF4.
Soon KOF will be out, AH2, Tekken and we all will be spread out yet again.
There will be an SNK house, a Tekken/3D house, a Street Fighter house, so in the end the main thing to get us too come together would be a local tournament, Somewhere we all could go, drive, ride the bus or hitch a ride to attend and level up our skills.
Money is an issue and to be fair, these $20.00 entry fee’s kill peoples pockets, I want to see guys like Duante and Itachi attend tournaments, they are solid in Marvel but cant always attend due to money constraints, as a community, as leaders, as tournament orgainizers, we need to add these things to our decision making when putting together tournaments.
Waba Isn’t Local either so it puts multiple people who are solid and on the scene at a disadvantage BUT I also understand we do not have tons of locations to host gatherings or tournaments.

I’m not attacking ONLY Magnicious I am saying this for any and all organizers on the scene or attempting to come to the scene.
To be fair Magnicious did go BACK and change things around to better suit the community (From what I’ve read) but it makes me ask the question… if it were so easy to just change it today or yesterday (Or whenever it was done) why wasn’t it setup that way in the first place BUT that’s neither here nor there, the fact of the matter is it has been changed.
Oh shit! Was 5 fun? =P
I see what you did there.
lmao yea I messed that up lol sorry:looney:
Waba’s sf4 tourneys are getting good comp now. I just got back and there weren’t really any slouches there (except me lol). I know it’s out of the way for some folks but, it’s good comp and a permanent location. BTW… I bit the shit outta some faces for all the blanka lovers out there :wgrin:
Hmmmm. What happened? Someone deleted a post.
God, I hate Blanka. He and Rufus are the reason why I “quit” the game a ways back, only to come crawling back and switch to Chun-Li.
I still hate Blanka and Rufus with the burning passion of a thousand Antichrists, though.
Results? Gogogo.
I just wanted to state that I do not know who Dreamboi or Midnight Star are and I have nothing to do with whatever comments they wrote. If any of you have any problems with whatever comments those members said you can take it up with them. I want nothing to do with that drama. That tournament is not my tournament and so I don’t really have anything to do with what other people’s comments about it are. What I will say is each organizer has a reason why they charge what they charge. If you don’t believe them or don’t think they are honest you always have the option to not come. If you don’t agree with what they charge then don’t come to their events, it’s that simple. Right now my full effort is to concentrate moving this scene forward and getting Impact Clash in line where it needs to be with the help of Eric V.
On another note congrats to the winners of the tournament at Waba! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to come until way later but I was able to make an appearance near the end. That was a great tournament. I hope to see you guys next week.

I will do better next time. I will :grrr: that face!
I feel you on the central area to play trey. That is key to building a strong scene, but normally the scene is where you make it sir. I mean when I stayed in stone mt I threw tournaments at NorthPoint Mall when they didn’t have a bus line out there and people came out there to play and compete. I also threw tournaments at southlake mall tilt when the apex ranking system was up and I was living in doraville. That was an 45 minute drive oneway for me, but I did it to help the scene. On the south side of town Southlake is around the same distance if not futher from 285 as waba games is on the north side of town.
The downside about waba is that you have to get off a major highway to get to it and there’s no busline out there for those that don’t have a car to get to waba. I understand that part and I can’t debate that sir. Arbor place mall had a good fighting game tournament scene until they stop updating their games and that’s out in douglasville. If people in our community agree to meet at a certain location every week or every other week to help us get stronger we will get stronger regaurdless where we play. A central location for everyone would be somewhere in downtown area. From where I live EastPoint is south not central. It takes me 1 hour to get to the airport form my house with light traffic. 1 1/2 hours-2 hours if there’s traffic downtown.
It would take people on the south side players almost the same amount of time to goto waba, so I understand why it’s hard for them to come. I know waba has the lowwer weekly joints that are about to start up next week at $5 entry $5 for a game just to spark up interest and local comp. Only 2 games per week. Every week will have sf4 and another game that will be on rotation. I’m not running those tournaments, but that’s a step in the right directions imo. We don’t need mad different games for our local joints and by no means am I telling anyone how to run their own shit because i’m not!
I’m just trying to support what little scene we have to grow back into what it was in the good old days! I don’t know if I have the time to do weekly joints, but i’ll atleast try to show up once or twice a month. I need to find a new job, because I can’t be spending a lot of money on playing games when I got bills to pay with no job. I just want our scene to get stronger.:china: I’m tired of people in capcom game thinking shit is free when they come to the “A”! Fuck that shit man. We got to change that mindset around for every game we play. Not just namco because we hold it down in those games!:karate:
