You’re probably right, I have no idea who he was supposed to be as I was a casual G.I Joe fan. I was mostly annoyed at how bad an actor RZA was really. The character probably woulda been decent if he was portrayed by another actor
it was a gibberish speech. it probably wouldnt even had been a blip if played by some random. but the fact it was rza made everyone turn heads and go wtf.
Technically killed by Firefly who is dead. An incredibly easy fix. Baroness is never 100% down with Cobra Commander in pretty much any G.I. Joe continuity either. Just with Destro, herself and you can probably say Billy in ARAH.
Cobra’s more entertaining when they are all trying to kill each other on the low anyway. Loved that old Marvel comic where Baroness rammed her knee into Cobra Commander’s groin ROFL!
Cobra Civil War was even better in showing the internal conflict within Cobra considering they were all auditioning to take over as the new Cobra Commander.
At any rate, I’m hoping to see Major Bludd, those twins, and the Dreadnoks in the 3rd one. Hell I can see Cobra Commander getting the Dreadnoks to bolster his forces.
People go from good to evil in fiction all of the time and there’s really only one movie to base anything about Baroness’ character. She’s not a clean slate but if they don’t want to treat her as a canvas that’s fully painted that you know every detail about they don’t have to either.
To me G.I. joe just isn’t G.I. joe without Duke, Scarlett, Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, Storm Shadow, Destro, Baroness and Zartan. The first film had all the right characters. Just the wrong script.
Ah well. G.I. Joe Resolute is still better than both films. I wish they’d make more projects like that.
A friend of mine told me that the Storm Shadow plot twist was in the comics. However, he felt that it was too soon to use it. And like you, I wasn’t a fan of it either.
I honestly just wish they had followed the comics from the get-go. The more I hear about the comic’s G.I. Joe, the more I feel that it was the definitive G.I. Joe.
And yes, Snake Eyes is played by the same actor is both films.
Watched the movie with g/f this last Friday. Rolled my eyes hard when I saw RZA. Storm Shadow’s part was
surprisingly much better in this movie than the previous. I think my g/f wanted to kill herself by the time
credits finally rolled. LOL
I don’t blame her though, there was only a couple of worthy scenes. Argh, such is the life of a horribly casted,
directed, and scripted TOY movie.
Also, the nukes had the president eye scan and passwords and stuff to activate them, but the Zeus didn’t have those as far as I could tell + the extra large self-destruct button lol
So I’m watching the Extended Cut of this movie and it flows waaaay better than the theatrical version. We get more in depth with the Jinx/Snake Eyes relationship and they do more with Flint. I like this.
