G.I. Joe Retaliation

Pyongyang needs to go and nobody will give a fuck

True Story, they are doing a RED2…I think its actually due this summer, but I’d have to look that up (a little ‘excited’ about that premise as I liked the first one). I thought it happend for a different reason…two reasons really. The first simply being - casting and purpose (lack thereof). The second - see below…

ding ding ding. He would only muck up this movie, with ‘too much’, and is the perfect set piece for the next installment. We have several loose-ends - that he could help tie-up or could combine with in ‘the next installment’ (hate the trilogy term now).

What happened to the Pakistan nukes?
What’s CC going to do next, especially now that he’s been exposed to the World Leaders?
What’s Stormshadow going to do next? He’s invariably a bad guy - will he go back to CC for no better reason, would he team up with a Destro, whom he was previously employed and did not betray (directly)?
This installment was ‘low’ on tech (high on firepower though). Destro would bring a balance back to high-tech with his appearance.
Baronness was completely left out of this one.
ETC…

I don’t know if this is a plot hole or not. In the first movie the team was multi-cultural…and wasn’t even based in America. In this movie they did a complete 180 on this entirely as ‘the entire GI JOE’ roster seemed to be annihilated doing the American President a favor/mission. So is this a retcon of the first movie? Did the operation expand into continental compartments? Did the operation shrink? Its worth noting, because that would also directly fuel their ‘rebirth’ and subsequent tie-in/casting for the next one.
-:bluu:

The movie wasn’t much of a retcon. I mean they clearly mentioned at the beginning that Duke was head of his own squad of people so it left room for the other characters like Breaker, Heavyduty, Scarlett, and General Hawk to come back.

im confused why they introduced mouse only to merk him lol

Flint was ass.

I hated Flint in the cartoons but at least he wasn’t as wimpy and beta as he was shown in the movie.

Good movie but it missed the real Flint, Scarlet and Destro.

Tom Hardy as destro would be awesome

Disappointed ! With thi s movi e !

They need to quit fucking around and give us what they KNOW we want: Master And Apprentice. Or something with mostly ninja.

This is true…I just really enjoy watching him do his thing on screen, he’s always awesome.

Saw this today, my only beef - where was the sex? America loves violence, opening scene of shoot first ask questions later against some Arabs but not even a hot kiss scene with the girl in red?

Where’s the love…

Don’t let it phase you that we are the governments elite fighting force just melting dudes with no regard for human life at the first chance we get but not a single solid moment of romance… I wish our children saw more examples of love then violence on the big screen…

Also all the ninja scenes were dope.

His role was kinda whack. See man with ironists for good RZA. Rather read the Tao of Wu for great RZA

Oh and how about that scene where CC flies off and is all like, see you in the sequel bitches

Scarlett and Baroness. Seeing them hoes on the big screen was a huge BONE-us about the first film lol!

Stuff like that makes bad movies not so bad. That Lady Jaye chick is just funny looking to me.

Scarlett and Baroness are major G.I. Joe characters to me. They seriously need to come back or get recasted or something.

Ah well with the PIT blowing up (and with Baroness’ jail being like under the PIT) they all have off screen deaths in theory. They can pretty much do anything and bring them back if they want.

Though yeah I don’t give a crap about Marl-ripcord Waynes, Brandon Flint-sier, Hawk or 21 Duke Street. Mainly because of the casting choices. UGH…

The best character in this movie is Storm Shadow. He was the most interesting and had the most character development. The movie itself was decent. The first movie is better.

In agreement, Storm Shadow was awesome in this. Much better movie than the first, I actually didn’t hate watching this one besides RZA’s awful performance and ridiculous character

Yeah, RZA was lame.

He was that one nigga practicin kung fu in the park talking about how monkey fist would end anybody’s life practicing ghetto wing chun

Seeing her ‘blonde’ in the first movie as well made her re-appearance null and void.
-:bluu:

Honestly, Storm Shadow was not great in this one. He was key to several scenes, but the plot twist with him was HORRIBLE, somewhat predictable as shown in the first movie. I mean I liked him in the movie and have no quarrels iwth the actor and his performance, but his lines seemed better in the first one and the whole ‘tacted on ninja arc’ took away for me…so anything and anyone associated with it (looks at Rza and Jinx) are on ignore.

Was Snake Eyes played by the same guy as before?
-:bluu:

to be fair, that whole speech made no sense.

Actually, RZA’s entire character made no sense.
