G.A.M.M.E. - Orlando, Florida - USA VS. JAPAN! $5000+ SF4, June 4-6 2010

Let the MM’s begin.

PS3 doesn’t lag. There’s a reason why the EVO setups lagged, but it wasn’t because of the PS3 itself.

Good shit. Will finally be able to get some offline matches against you

We have an unofficial announcement for one of our Saturday night after parties at one of the local night clubs. I was working on that tonight - just got back from those facilities to finalize the deal. That info will be posted on the main site with the music festival aspect of the show which will be on the fairgrounds outside of the hotel, those celebrities will be performance at the same nightclub since we will have the club to ourselves from 1am to 5am sunday morning (saturday evening into sunday). So yeah Total, you and I can hit some Patron brotha…

This will be a VIP After Party with our guests and the Pro-Gamers there will be a lot of information on this incoming over the next month on the site.

Today (Monday) I hit Orlando Barfights, I hope to see many of you there.

New York & Japanese Players…DAMN!!

Sounds good I’m Old school HDR & maybe 3rd Strike for me… awww fuck it I’m entering everything I can get my hands on just because
Hope everyone has deodorant on and bathed beforehand thoroughly…:wonder:
Let me know if anyone still plays HDR or 3s anymore

This is why I am happy they upgraded their HVAC System along with their Fiber Optic and Cat6 setups. So while we have sexy super speed net for streams and holy crap wifi - I will keep the place 65 degrees lol.

I’ll be driving down for this one!! I stayed at that Florida Hotel and Conference Center last year for during Thanksgiving/Black Friday.

It’s a really nice hotel, great rooms, plus it’s connected to a huge mall, which is great for fellas who want to bring their girlfriends/wives.

Good job on this one guys:bgrin:

So half of the singles tournament entry fee’s go to the 5v5 sfiv pot?

Although I like the idea, I also dislike it a bit, because people playing singles are also motivated by money and the singles pot will be rather low. I guess my question is: isn’t 5000 guaranteed enough for the exihibition?

regardless this will be an awesome event.

EDIT: Just reread this again…Entry fees for any one tournament are for that tournament, not for any other.

EDIT: this is in reference to 50% entry going to charity: I had thought about that myself and I wanted to really be able to give our charities something tangible.

Also we add bonus pots to the games when a sponsor drives the interest to it. So if we don’t have a Bonus listed on a pot it does not necessarily mean it won’t get one. I won’t list a Bonus unless we are covering it with our own money or a sponsor / ad dollars is behind it.

The other aspect of the charities which is unofficially announced through some of the shows we have done over the last few months that we will match the funds raised.

look at it this way.

If we have only the 16 Tournaments listed (We have others, but this is an example).

lets say the average amount of players for all is 64 competitors.

64 average competitors x 16 tournaments = 1024 total entries (they might not be unique, some folks compete in multiple games)

1024 entries x $10 fee = $10,240 Total in Pots (not counting bonus - those don’t get broken into charity)

$10,240 / 50% = $5120 in Funds Raised for Charity

$5120 / 5 charities = $1024 per charity

That makes me cry a little inside.

So We will be matching whats raised and have all the winners on stage on Sunday to present the money to the Charities.

This is why we are doing the 50% if we lower it, its really not a whole lot we are giving. I look at it as a lot of the players will play multiple tournaments and some will have opportunities to win in other tourneys or place high enough to continue winning pots, really depends on the player.

That and we want to do a toy and can food drive. Those details will be on the main site with instructions and what not.

Toy’s are for Toy’s for Tots - and cans are for the Miami Daily Bread Food Bank

I am sure the numbers in terms of the entrants will be solid enough that we can truly make a real mark on these charities.

Again these are average numbers and from what I gather, SSFIV may have ridiculous bracket sizes, but we’ll be equipped to handle them smoothly.

And once we make a few announcements in January we expect the turnout for 3 of our titles to jump from what we are already planning.

I will making a few announcements on the facebook tonight and post some new photos.

IT WAS AWESOME meeting many of the Orlando folks Monday @ BarFights and hanging out with some of them last night again at GoogleMyNames Game Night with DJ Hero. I brought a handle of Single Barrel Jack and was bodied horribly at SFIV by Torrin and Jebailey!!! lol - Some stories were told lol.

New Announcement added to main post…also we have the second post updated with upto date Arena info and announcing our Tourney officials as well as commentators.

its looking like a dream team at this point, so I am quite excited to announce the folks working with us:

Thanks go out to Jeff “Kurasa” Blyden, Ryan “Tekkurai” Truman, Jason “IdleMind” Shumard, Alex “Senkei” Tsakanikas and our newest addition running one of our Arena’s is John “SweetJohnnyCage” Gallagher who is the organizer for East Coast Throwdown.

I know its still 8 months away, but I am overjoyed with all the work we are getting accomplished, corporate and community. its a beautiful thing!

Thanks for replying moadib, I do have some other questions if you don’t mind me asking.

quick recap:
- 5v5 exhibition fight Usa vs Japan. ($5000)

  • SFIV singles ($5000+50% entry fees)
  • SSFIV singles (50% entry fees,)
  • SSFIV 3v3 (50% entry fees)
  • SSFIV tougeki singles (50% entry fees)
  • Tekken 6 ($3000+50% entry fees?)
  • MvC2 ($2000+50% entry fees?)
  • SCIV ($2000+50% entry fees?)
  • HDremix ($1000+50% entry fees?)
  • 3rdstrike ($1000+50% entry fees?)
  • lolbrawl ($2000+50% entry fees?)

^------ 50% entry fee will go out to charity and not a penny more or a penny less?

Why are you giving charity again?

Have you decided on whether to charge a venue fee or take money from they pots yet?

What percentage of the venue fees(or venue pot deductions) are going to charity? :razzy:

How/when will the charities receive their donations?

Keep in mind that is highly likely that those 10 people will end up taking top 3 from the other tournaments as well, so in the end it might not even matter asking so much HAHA.

I’m in there!!!

Not sure if you want me to guess who is winning and losing here? but If we go on that assumption then why would anyone ever compete…

Announced Mr. Keigo Hoashi on the main post - One of the Composers on the Team that produced the Music for Tekken 6.

d^_^b

I’m coming to have some fun. And I will try to drag some Philly players with me.

ERIC - look at your phone…you looking at it lol - ready…pick me up lol

Im in thereeeee

Woah glad I decided to check the Tourney section, shit has me so hype. But can someone tell me more about the Rhythm Arcade? Sounds just as hawt.

I am working now on the promotional aspects of our rhythm arcade and our FPS Arena’s.

We will have about 8 machines for different DDR titles and run tourneys on Extreme and SuperNova (Konami official) and have 2 bonus pots associated with those, $2k a pop.

We are about to release a new flyer with new announcements on the tourney scene and with our big musical guests. By January we will have all our Rhythm and Shooter Announcements - a good amount of players we have promoted to in New York and Ohio on the Bemani scene are already planning to compete, but we have not really started pushing those departments yet.

We do have a rule set up on our site that covers how we run DDR tournaments. We refine these sets constantly so check them out.

Since a lot of that info is not pertinent to SRK we keep it separate. Hope this helps.
