Just like I knew DmC wouldn’t be hot…I’m willing to bet Bayo 2 will surpass the first game.
Yup I said it.

Waste of talent.
Quality games are bombing SOLELY for being exclusive to the WiiU. Bayo2 will join them.

Hmmm…I am unsure how Bayo 2 will do tbh.
You got me there.
Bayonetta bombed on PS3 and Xbox 360.
Bayo 2s doig better on the Wii U then it was doing on ther two systems by virtue of existing.
Bayonetta bombed on PS3 and Xbox 360.
To be fair the PS3 version was/is assmilk so some (DMC/Kamiya/Cuhrayzee!) fans probably just skipped out on it altogether, or bought it when it was cheap/second hand.
If I’m not mistaken, the PS3 version of Bayonetta outsold the 360 version.
^Indeed, I’m just assuming it probably would have performed better if the PS3 version wasn’t as gimped.
Bayonetta bombed on PS3 and Xbox 360.
It actually made a profit for Platinum and Sega, unless you are talking that it didn’t pull COD like numbers
Nintendo needs to start developing new GDLK franchises that capture the Spiritt of their flagship IP’s.
They are. They just need more
po_pimpus:
Nintendo didn’t fail anybody
-Nintendo had a full year head start and blew it, even MS capitalized on that and they had RROD
-Nintendo named the system the exact same name as their previous system with a U tacked on
-Nintendo spent $8.95 on advertising for the system
-Nintendo trotted out a severely underpowered console, relying on it’s exclusives that weren’t there
-Nintendo’s big launch game was…a “new” SMB that came out months after NSMB2 from a series core Nintendo fans didn’t like much
-Nintendo’s excuse for not having games at launch or even a year after launch is “we didn’t know HD games took a long time”
-Nintendo has now a year later NSMB, The Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, and…uhhh an HD remake of WWIt’s great that you’re happy with your Wii U purchase, but the rest of us have higher standards and are waiting until more games that should have been released at launch or in launch window arrive. For me personally Pikmin 3 and WWHD are cool but not a huge deal. And as amazing as the upcoming Super Mario 3D World looks it’s still just one game and along with The Wonderful 101 that makes 2 must have games for most veteran Nintendo fans and that doesn’t justify $250-300.
Nintendo is just like Capcom except at least Nintendo has the humility to admit they fucked up, now hopefully gamers will give Nintendo a second chance.

Onto the parts of your post that have actual content, I’d argue Nintendo didn’t fail so much as the marketplace has become this bizarro landscape where quality no longer matters… All you need to do is spend $150 mil+ on advertising and get Drake to hock you wares and you’ll sell millions.
Nintendo overestimated that the success of the Wii would carry over into the WiiU and pulled a Sega when it came to advertising i.e. little to no ads at all.
They also have the deck massively stacked against them-- Game “journalists” take every opportunity they can to heap shit on them… Watch anytime that tool Keighley interviews Reggie for an example. Reviewers are notoriously harsh in their criticisms of Nintendo games “following the same formula,” but Call of Duty/Ass Creed are essentially the same game every year and keep getting “GAME OF THE YEAR,” “PERFECT 10” scores and accolades.
Third parties won’t give them a second thought See Ubisofts’ handling of Rayman Legends, and they’re caught in this terrible feedback loop of lack of third party support because no consoles selling/no consoles selling because lack of third party support.Nintendo’s not perfect, but they still make fantastic games and I thought great games were what it was all about.
I fucking hate playing Devil’s Advocate for Nintendo… I own a 3DS/Wii/PS3, had a 360 that RROD’d a month into ownership, and had to replace my PS3 last year. Don’t you dare accuse me of being a fanboy for any one company, because I only stan for good fucking games.
The Wii U situation is in the middle between these two posts. Nintendo fucked up with this thing, and did it in an enviroment that really wants them to fail ( “Nintendo needs to go 3rd party” stuff), so they almost can’t do good no matter what. As successful as the 3DS is, publishers here in the U.S. are still shunning it.
The games are finally starting to come out and I wouldn’t feel bad about dropping the dough on it now, to play W101 and Sonic, to be honest. Those two games could keep me more than entertained for the money now, and I’d still have Bayo2, Mario 3D World, X, Smash and Puyo Puyo x Tetris come out.
I know people have a rule of " This # of games to come out before I buy a system", which is good but I don’t need to buy them all at the same time. I’d rather have no more than 2 come out with others confimed in the pipline. Wii U does that. I’m sure the twins will have games around this time next year that make me and other like minded people take notice, especially with the extra stuff sorted out, not to mention launch problems that Sony and MS are known for.
Bayo2 would’ve bombed on the twins as well, otherwise Sony and MS would’ve picked it up.

Also CoD has generally been making more sales through Microsoft throughout this current generation and not Sony. Whether that changes going into the next generation will be anyone’s guess.
Yeah not surprised. Microsoft has been the preferred console for FPS games. The next killer app FPS is hitting Xbox One exclusively also (Titanfall, PS4 confirmed to never get a release). Same shit, new gen.
When’s Smash?
Your post was kinda hidden in there so I’m going to assume your post begins with ‘yeah not surprised’. Smash is next projected next year. Exactly when? Don’t know…If I was to take a guess I’d poise the game to be a later half of the year game…We don’t even know what Nintendo plan for releases next year are yet aside from DK in February. That leaves Bayo 2, X, Smash, Zelda Wii U, Mario Kart 8, Yarn Yoshi, and Fire Emblem X Shin Megami with possible releases for next year at some point…and this isn’t including whatever else they probably aren’t telling us they have cooking. Out of all that stuff if I were them I’d probably put Smash during the holiday season.

The industry cannot crash soon enough.
Raze it to the ground.
Make it all about the games again.
It is the only way.
I don’t blame Ubisoft with the handling of Rayman Legends. They were the Wii U’s biggest supporter early on and seeing the console’s sales being in the pits I don’t blame them delaying Rayman to put it on other consoles. Zombie U stayed with the console and made them no profit
The funny thing about Rayman is that they released it multiplatform in an attempt to recoup potential losses on Wii U and as great as the game is it still sold well under expectations. They spent the time and money to develop 3 more versions of the game over the course of what…7 months? For all we know that game could have been a system seller during a period where there weren’t that many games coming out and they wouldn’t have had to build 3 more copies of the game but nope…and then they released it within a couple of weeks of GTA. Wii U had nothing at all to do with that.
Edit: Haohmaru already covered that lol.

It’s not, I guarantee it.
its funny people talking negative about the wii u, console is a hidden gem, like a living dreamcast or snes 2.
you can complain all you want, I’m enjoying my fucking Wii U
I’ve heard there’s blood in the water, the wiiu is currently the worst selling console of all time (for the amount of time it’s been released) and while people are saying that first party nintendo games will save it, the brightest shining star–smash–is already tarnished.
The casuals are very upset at the announcement of a smaller roster than brawl and the story mode won’t feature the same cinematic flair.
Thoughts?

I’m not really a smash bros fan but my guess is that the smaller roster means Smash Wii U is going to be a high quality game.
that’s all that matters to me, people debating about commercial success is kind of pointless. the reason we have the games we have today is because of the CONSUMERS you people praise games that aren’t worthy of being praised because you fall for those stupid psychological hooks. games won’t change until people will change so have fun complaining

They gonna buy it anyway. People buy Smash to pit their favorite Nintendo characters against each other. Who cares if it won’t have a story mode? The series never had a story anyway.
As for the roster, It could use some fat trimming. There’s no need to have characters like pokemon trainer around.
Or the number of repetitive clones with slight alterations from each other.
