I counter with Wu Tang Shaolin Style, and the Def Jam series.
Just because a famous person, be it a rapper like Snoop, or an actress like Ellen Page (paige? i’m not googling it), shows up in a game doesn’t mean… well… anything. Celebrity endorsement is nothing new.
I thought The last of us looks great and its good they’re adding actors to their games. but im not sure if games are actually games anymore.
and for the record I actually like the fact they added a snoop dog stage, it’s excellent marketing. but most of these games have very retarded gameplay when you strip them down (not tekken) but 90% of the games out there now.
but like I said theres no point in carrying on about this
Dude its just a fucking ad go bitch about the fact Call of Duty is the fucking Madden of fps and the fact Capcom fans have to wave money in the air to get the execs to pay attention to them.
whoa someones been offended on behalf of snoop dog
maybe you should read my other post saying I like it, but just because it’s cool doesnt mean it does anything apart from extra sales. which is the topic
Their E3 was terrible. From Ubisoft’s Rayman game and just the general information given regarding the Wii U’s capabilities, I know that the Wii U has great potential. After that pathetic E3 though, investors aren’t going to be confident about the platform because they feel the audience aren’t confident about it. This can be extended to video game developers. Support for it will dwindle, as this is the logical, safe decision to make to maximize your profits.
It’s a damn shame that Nintendo can’t get enough of their stuff together to wow us.
Ads are meant to generate sales this doesnt affect gameplay at all.Games have been doing shit like this since NBA jam dude. The problem is games trying to emulate TV thrillers and Movies by creating games that are so overly cinematic and pretentious along with THe big 3 ignoring the fact variety is needed to serve .
erm, not wowing you? the only thing that would wow you would be AMAZING GRAPHICS no?
im pretty amazed at their focus on strengthening their community, don’t you think through the Miiverse the fighting game comunity can reach out WAY more easily to help improve all gamers?
you see this is what im talking about, you all don’t know what you’re talking about what has been lost with arcades is a community. I just don’t understand you guys. you prefer to find cool new things to spend money on instead of creating a better community? im just… wow
Honestly all the big 3 gave us the same shit. The Shooter,The sportsgame,The new family friendly interface,The guy in a suit thats supposed to be in tune with us,The Zombie Game,The fantasy shooter and the RPG. We hold NIntendo to a higher standard than they do us sadly. This is still a japanese company that likes to pretend it didnt make money making games that were accesible yet fun and challenging. They dont truly respect nor honor the lifetime fanbase thats been buying their shit for damn near 30 years .Just like Capcom loves to pretend that folks are too stupid to move a damn joystick in a half circle and press one of the 3 punch buttons.
I don’t know what your arguement is here, your just saying things that I’ve been saying
the problem with the big 3 is the gaming community wont spend money unless they’re excited, the internet has changed a lot of things. just like my gripes with the fighting game community the gaming community as a whole encourages these companies to keep pumping out shit.
I just dont understand people anymore, whats the point?
EDIT:
no dont insult capcom about sfxt it was inevitable, the game could of been a lot worse they were trying to appeal to everyone.
and you need to get your facts straight about nintendo, if you have a wii fire up mario kart if you have it and visit the community section
Facepalms Nice assumptions there buddy.
I’m not going to re-type what I typed 2 pages ago (page 9), so I will just quote it.
That’s why I was extremely disappointed by Nintendo’s pitiful E3 conference. They didn’t convincingly deliver on any of that, only giving us half-assed reassurances as to what their goals are.
They didn’t offer us compelling reasons that their console will be successful; they only offered us some idea of its potential, yet didn’t display ANY noteworthy titles **during their conference **to back up their claim.
you do know im alone here trying to back up nintendo when I used to be one of the first people to put it down, thats until I started thinking back to how many people who aren’t very comfortble with a game control can find fun in video games because of nintendo.
do you think maybe nintendo don’t really care that much about e3? why compete hard now when you have tokyo game show to bring out your big guns. and to be honest nothing for the past 3 years has got me excited about gaming, Wii U’s focus on community is all that I care about, who cares about kratos and the fake feeling of beating a boss, who cares about call of duty soccer 2011
does anyone remember this word: CHALLENGE
modern games is not real gaming as far as im concerned, ive decided that today
with community focus implemented there will be plenty of challenge for every game. didn’t LBP try to do this? will its not really a challenge so it doesnt count, infamous 2 has something that tries to build a community, time splitters had a level editing community. these things gave games life, and I think the REAL reason sony and microsoft wont do this is because they wont be able to rip off people as often as they have, and im telling you straight that when they’re able to get people comfortable downloading coughpsn pluscough they will surely find new ways to make more money from you through their focus on community building.
instead of free games that nobody plays from plus they should focus on improving their community interface
What does that have to do with anything? Community building and community efforts are exactly that; community ventures. I’m talking about the product on the shelf.
If you want to get into community projects… well there’s a couple decades of ROMhacks available.
Alright, alright look: making a game that is easy AND accessible is really damn hard. Easy, Accessible and Good might as well be travelling at the speed of light. Let’s take a look back at the position Nintendo is in so that we may criticize it properly:
Nintendo wants to sell consoles that make a profit. Nintendo does not want to compete with either Sony or Microsoft over the gamers hence it went into an untapped force with casual players. Nintendo is doing another gimmick. Devs would rather deal with normal controllers than gimmicks. Nintendo burned a lot of bridges with the Wii as far as 3rd party support is concerned.
If you were Nintendo’s CEO or CFO or whichever nigga is in charge of steering the company into a profitable venture, where would you take the company?
Would you go head first against Sony and MS to steal that coveted first to the market spot that made the 360 a whole lot of gains?
Considering how the later part of the Wii’s life went, do you think that the gamers which stand by Sony and MS would jump ship to your product?
Added to this question is: Would you want to risk the insanely good PR you have with families as being a console for children by having to include many more adult games into your lineup?
Do you interpret the surprise sucess of the Wii as a good model or as a gimmick that worked to move forward from or a solid foundation on which to move the company?
The truth is that somebody has to make games that are just fun. As far as I’m concerned Gears of War can go suck a big bloody dick. That was way too violent for me. For better or worse there are gamers like me that just want to have a fuckload of fun with some solid gameplay. So…who gets to have it?
Apparently none of ya’ll because the aforementioned quesitons have not been brought up. You niggas would bankrupt all of gaming.
