i hate to sound like a pretentious dick but…educate yourselves about the music you love so much.

no offence but this isnt the first time you’ve posted in my thread with shit i dont even like and now you’re claiming you know shit you know nothing about. most of the tunes i’ve posted i know you havent heard because they were only released in the uk.

whats with this underground/commercial bs?.. i post house music that sounds good.

nobody’s begging you to post anything in my thread.

listen, music’s about bringing people together. let’s try not to get into a stupid hissy fit debate about what’s commercial and what’s not. We all have our preferences for music and its subgenres and anyone should express them but not enforce them on others…

^^
True. I grew up in DET, Theo P, M.Grant. This guy knows his stuff right here. Fine choices! Add The Rurals.

some of that hard detroit techno? Check out Jeff Mills or Underground Resistiance.

I know what you are saying. It is so easy to fall into listening to Online Stations and loving the music. But it feels even better to know what you like and research it and find new shit because of it. But then again some people dont care so…

I wasn’t aware that something being ‘commercial’ made it less likable… I like music that sounds good to me, and that’s it. I don’t need to like shit that’s only ‘underground’ to make myself seem more knowledgeable than the next guy.

Like majeh said… music - and house especially, given its roots - is supposed to bring people together. Just because I or whoever likes the “cheesy/bubblegum” stuff doesn’t mean I know don’t my shit. Chip E, Larry Levan, the Paradise Garage… you need me to namedrop any more?

So you don’t like what’s been posted here? Post something of your own. No need to get your panties in a knot and claim you’re better than the next guy because some folks prefer some music to another.

I don’t like 100% of the songs posted here - but I don’t go shitting on someone else’s tastes. That’s just wack.

holyshit, are you dumb? lol… detroit techno?.. I’m posting funkyhouse music not techno.

start your own techno thread if you prefer techno and post your shit there.

TRANCE WTF?!! This is HOUSE THREAD!!?

I just listed 3 House atrist and 2 Techno just for fun. Why so sereous?
Im sure you know about house, detroit has a BIG house scene hence being the birth place of techno, alot of the artist have house aliases. While house does vary from city to city its the similarities that bring hosue heads together. Ive been a thursday night house head for years. Instead of trying to insult mabey you should just check out the names and give a listen.

Richie Hawtin!
Derrick May!

Chill out mang. its only music.

start your own thread!!!..

i specifically said that I was going off topic and I dont think you’re dumb enough not to understand that, well i hope you’re not.

I know more about house music than all you self professed experts on SRK, posting names of artists you think i’ve never heard of, and mixing tunes by stopping one track then playing the next… Please.

I ignored you guy’s the first time you started posting in my thread, now you’re trolling… start your own thread!!!..

you know it’s really not about being “more underground” or whatever than the next guy, it’s just about being true to the artform. theo parrish, larry heard, moodymann etc…those are popular artists in the house scene, it’s just the music (dance music in general) is about way more than “funky” “disco” “deep” or whatever other labels people wanna pigeonhole stuff into. good shit is good shit.

From my understanding, anything that makes you wanna dance is true to the art form.

wrong…

Uh, isn’t that the whole point of dance music?

I get that house has soul. I get that house has funk. I get that above all else, house is a feeling. But it’s still rooted in dance music.

exactly, house music is dance music.

I only post music you can dance to unless I state otherwise.

Why do people gripe? People can dance to all music. In this definition, you can post what ever music you want. Jazz dancers, swing dancers, its all dance music. There is a tree that leads to electronic dance music.

This is a funky house thread… if you want techno post your shit in the techno thread. if you want jazz, post your jazz in the jazz thread… swing?.. swing thread… etc.

there’s a house thread around that encompasses all genres… you can post your stuff there.

Lol, im just messin wit you. I got love for real house heads. Go on with your thread.

some get it some don’t. if you actually think “anything that makes you dance” is true to the artform this convo cant go anywhere. the WORST shit is popular (terrible music played in 99% of clubs house hip hop trance or otherwise) because people “like to dance to it”. dance music is just that…MUSIC.
