Ever heard of David Harness? He’s a local (to San Francisco) DJ who will make you cry then - no joke. I think he has a couple tracks/remixes out on Defected, too. When I hear him spin, the shit he plays moves me. Is that lame? I don’t give a fuck if it’s lame cuz it’s true!

edit: also, Sexperienced, I take it you have most of the recent Hed Kandi compilations?

I have every song in this topic. Rotfl.

Ill post up some shit tomorrow. Anyone remember the Ministry of Sound Annual 2006? Jesus Christ. That thing brings a tear to my eye.

if anyone is interested in real house or techno(not commercial bs) … hit me up on soulseek under the same name i use on here and ill add you to my list … current mp3 count = 132k … all 320 bitrate with key and bpm info

i just browsed over this thread and i’m trying not to be too cynical, but as a dj/producer for the past 12 years, there is some pretty cheesy/bubblegum stuff being posted… especially in the compilation/mixed cd dept. … if you are really interested in electronic music being spun correctly, look up some mixes by jeff mills, derrick may, adam beyer, cari lekebusch … those are mostly techno … for some great house dj’s … check out dj sneak and ian pooley. if you are interested in some of the best house releases from it’s golden era, check everything from cajual and trax records… you really cant beat that classic chicago house sound(besides detroit techno of course)

dude, you dont know what the hell you’re talking about. 90% of the tracks in this thread are not in compilations and why are you giving recommendations for techno music in a funky house thread? if you think i’m posting chessy bubblegum stuff you need to get your ears checked… obviously you know nothing about house music.

Uh… yeah, and I’ve been listening to house since I was 15 - I guess that’d make 13 years, and I spun solely house as a DJ - you know, in bars/lounges/clubs - from 2000 to 2004. Might not be as long as you, but I like to think know my shit - and I’m totally into the stuff people have been posting in this thread so far.

“Cheesy/bubblegum”… isn’t that the very definition of funky/disco house?

And… commercial? Seriously? Yeah, because people are all posting Daft Punk, Armand Van Helden, and Modjo every other post. -_-

132,000 tracks sounds like you have a lot of filler. A shitload in fact. Its not that much good underground house music in the world.

Usually when I browse someones files on Soulseek who have more than 10,000 tracks it all begins to look like a blur of text. They have so much crap scattered in with stuff that you actually do recognize that you dont even bother downloading anything to begin with.

Ill pass.
