GGs to everyone saturday. Got in a good amount of mvc3, ssf4, hdr, and vf5, however there should be more of the latter. There was GG goin on, but I’ve never really played that game before. I’ve heard it’s great, so I’d be down to get in on it next time. There was also some KoF. Same case for me, but now it’s looking at a console release, so I’m down to get in on that also. Having food at the dojo was gdlk, we should definitely keep that goin.
Damn are you serious? If the multi hit supers scale themselves then this would make since because inferno hits 50 times. This is amazing, get blown up sentinel assist.
@silis yea, generally I give someone an answer when asked a question as long as I know the answer rather than give general advice. I also ask questions when something comes up, but I find that when there’s a good amount of people waiting to get in, I talk about general stuff while I’m waiting so we can keep things moving. Still tho, the majority of my leveling up has just been through experience, getting in a lot of games, trying my tools against different matchups, figuring out my opponents tools and finding counters.
I know what you’re talking about, like if you notice your opponent is continuously doing something bad, you should talk to him. However you can’t really rely on the people you play against to teach you how to play your characters, that’s your job. They may not even know how to play your characters. Like nobody taught me shit about guy and I got pretty good with him. I got bodied by chrisis’ rog over 9000 times and I always came back for more because I loved it. Now I know that matchup pretty damn well. Sometimes it can be difficult but you really need to analyze your match as you play it. In marvel it isn’t too hard, you have plenty of time to think about how you got hit while they’re comboing you as long as they don’t reset lol
If you want to expand, you should check stuff out online and ask questions when you notice stuff come up. If you need help with a character or a matchup find someone who plays the character in question and see if he’ll help ya out. If you’re worried you’re doing stupid shit then talk to someone about it and play a game against them, then they’d be more apt to notice and help you out. You should talk to people if you need help rather than brew on how people aren’t helping you out. You’d be suprised on just how much help you’d get. We’ve been together leveling up for a while now. It will become much easier to analyze your game once you get a better understanding of your team.
While I’m typing a wall I might as well reinstate that VF5 is gdlk, been practicing and things come much more naturally to me, you really just need command training + experience with that game.
Here’s the link to the tournie we played in for the people who wanted to see it. It’s in 4 parts, we play at about 53 minutes, then in part 2 we play around 44:00, 1:01:00, and 1:30:00. Justin.tv - iplaywinner - KEYSTONE II - MVC3 & SSF4
Also since it’s the place to do so I’ll talk about non-fighting games I’ve been playing. Well just one really, I picked up a copy of Mass Effect like a week ago and I’m trying to do everything in that game because when I originally played through it I had rented it and only had like 2 days. I drank a ton of yerba mate (that shit gives you brain lasers) and stayed up all night for those days and made it through. Replaying it has really reminded me of a lot of stuff about that game. It sets up a vast world with a ton of great characters, plus it’s got a wonderful combat system that feels at least pretty tactical with rpg level up mechanics that make you feel like you are really sculpting your character and actually improving over time. Good narration, good story, good characters, progression, combat…
But oh god that game, glitchy as all hell, stupid, boring, repetitive side quests. Terrible inventory, some of the worst stuff I’ve seen. Why you gotta be so good but then so horrible??? Sometimes I’ll be thinking about playing the game, then I’ll be like do I really want to? I think I do, it’s just annoying. I think it’s overall a good game tho, and then Mass Effect 2 deals with a lot of that stuff, but then it cuts out/dumbs down a lot of the rpg mechanics. Maybe me3 will be a middle ground…
Edit - oh yea and shoutouts to me losing my phone and my key by the time I got back home. Had to break into my room with a little help from housemates and replace the deadbolt I had with a doorknob. Phone is replaceable, but I’ll prolly ask for a few peoples numbers that I lost, and I’ll prolly have a new number
