Freedemonia in East bay!

I’m on spring break. That mean marvel 3 for the next 72 hours straight. I may not even shower! Come on down to get in some gg’s

I want to learn that MARVEL 2. TEACH ME !
SOMEONE teach me this next coming session. ~.~
STRIDER-DOOM LETS GO!

also, HADOCON finalized gamelist is up.
Mk won, so no 2v2 MVC3 but there is a SSF4 2v2. if you guys plan to get some groups together.

So what do you guys think about a Marvel tourney after the arcade tourney at RnC? I just want to try to run a small one with $1 or no entry fee. If it’s $1 winner takes all and if it’s free I guess the winner’s food will be on me for that day. If it’s cool with V I really want to give this a shot.

Ill enter. We should host dollar tournaments for all games.
@Tasty Im seriously considering picking up GG since you want to get hella good. I want to get good at GG so I cant top 3 BlazBlue easily. HA.

This is a good idea. Also, Eric, I have your T6 copy. I’ll try to give it back to you next time I see you at RnC.

GG is so hype. Good characters, good music. So HARD though, when you can mash shoryu in SF4 or XFC in MvC3.

Just pick Sol Badguy and troll everyone. I’d give Accent Core a go if could somehow get a copy of it on PS3 or Xbox, if it even exists. Maybe I can get my TE modded to work on PS2?

I’m all for a Marvel side tourney, gives me some more training goals.

For some reason they’ve never released Accent Core for any current gen consoles. I’d be happy if they just released a redone GG in HD instead of another BB update. I know a lot of people would buy it.

I was thinking of that exact same vid when I wrote that post, good stuff.

I had a ton; it was great.

Crouch jab [mash] is just really easily blown up once people get a hang of how to use defensive move properly, I think.

(or, if you predict it, throw out a move that eats other moves during their startup… I think I can beat out crouch jab with Akira’s double-kicks if I predict a crouch jab… that said, this is REALLY REALLY unsafe (and presumably very disrespectful, but double-kicks is godlike))

That said, we should rename ourselves “Chrisdemonia” for epic win.

ALSO, Vanquish God Hard was excellent: I manage to get us past a bunch of hard parts such as the first crab boss, chainsaw tank and almost beat up the Russian dude before we had to leave.

Game is too intense.

I opened it at one point a while back when it decided to randomly started working.

But when I looked inside, I realized that I had no fucking clue what all the wires were doing and decided to just close it back up.

I’m too free in electronics!

I will import, for sure.

FFFFFFF–

We just got done with a 2-day crack session at V’s place; not quite sure who would still be up for gaming at this point.

We should organize a field trip to this and drag people to the dojo after.

Also, since we were talking about The World God Only Knows, here’s a re-post of that random comic strip about it I did:

I lawled.

=======

That said, I’m gonna try to learn Tekken 6 this week… just need to go through tutorial videos and actually check out command training.

Sorry to not respond earlier, but GGs everyone! After the session I got pretty bloody sick so I’ve been trying to take it easy, still can’t speak since I lost my voice. :frowning: Physical contact with everything hurts and my throat feels like I tried gargling with sand paper.>.<

Anyways it was great to get in matches with everyone especially those I didn’t get to play often.

Shout outs in random to:

Som for destroying me in MvC2 so thoroughly that it should count as a war crime.

The wall of hype surrounding VF5 and Vanquish.

Jesse for hooking me up with much needed cough drops.

Henry for being the first person to take me off the console on Mahvel 3 of the 2 days.

Im down for more guilty and 3s. Im tired of playing Marvel, even though I will play haha.

At the comment for more constructive criticism, I agree to an extent. But no one is going to tell you what you should do right if you dont ask. I dont mean just bitch til someone hears you, just ask them. Chrisis just drops knowledge left and right and so does everybody else. If you ask someone, they will help you. Assuming that people will know what you’re thinking isn’t very helpful. We’re all nice, but we wont give our secrets out. HA. We are Cheapdemonia.

One thing also is that people ask about frame data too much. Frame data is good to learn and what not, but complaining about how you should be + on block is dumb. You whiffed you should get punished. Hey, Im pretty shitty at SF4, but I won with my boxer because you just “know” what will work. Just practice. The best thing about Marvel 3 is that what you can envision in your mind, eventually manifests in your gameplay w/ little to no practice.

Anyways, Im going to be hitting that GG grind. If someone can bring another ps2 stick. Im about to mod mine after I finish this essay on the Loma Prieta Quake and finish modding other clients’ sticks.

I’ll play 3rd Strike and GG, even though I’m not all that great at GG, I might as well play it for fun :3

Time to hit the arcade for some AE action soon.

In regards to frame data, things safety varies wildly depending on what part of the move you connect with and when/how you cancel in Marvel. IE, hitting with light thunder knuckle at the very first frame is different on block from hitting with the last active frame varies from feint cancelled block. Frame data mostly is to assist with optimizing combos and situations so you’re able to figure out why something’s happening and then use that knowledge to supplement your own ideas. IE when I learned that Task’s Shieldskills has only 1 frame slower start up than his stand A, I optimized my not quite loop combo to do like 200,000 more damage.

Bartstation is totally right, ask people and I’m sure they’re happy to help! Also, his new avatar is pretty godlike, that is all.

Don’t forget Dorito’s Crash Course, which I found better than stuff like Sonic (like, 2D Sonic)…

That shit is just sad.

(but, real talk: the game is surprisingly legit and has some of the most awesome platforming I’ve played in forever)

@Ric0: Do this the next time I summon Ammy stupidly, I didn’t realize it did this fricking much damage.

I think with Ammy DHC you should be able to kill any summoned assist as well, seems skeezy.

Can anyone explain why that inferno does so much damage?

Meteor Smash = 125,000
Inferno = 284,000
Assist damage multiplier = 150%
If my math is coming out right shouldn’t that be doing 613,500? Storm has 850,000 life I need back up on this. D:

^^

Don’t assist take unscaled damage? Multi-hitting supers often scale themselves but not so much against non-point characters. There was a rumor of a patch coming to nerf inferno’s damage, highly doubt that’s true though.

Peer advice is godlike. I remember asking Juicebox one thing at NCR and I immediately took my Cammy to the lab and came back 100 times better. Likewise, asking Chrisis some things about tridashing made me see that I have offensive tools with Trish. I feel like a key weakness with my main team is that I seem to lack the discipline to play Trish as a battery, which often derails my gameplan.

Additonally, seeing Ammy Cold-Star + Focus attack and Doom + Tenderizer assist has giving me some neat mixup ideas for my own team.

Doom mix ups are called MMMMMMMMMMM, he should be sponsored by Cambell’s Soup or KFC whatever slogan they have now.

But Doom + assists are too good. Especially rocks, Ive been messing around with rocks and Ive been playing more LoL/Dota stuff so harassing is my main goal in games.

Also, assists do take A LOT of damage. Ryu is the ultimate assist killer. I am so shocked by his blatant shinkuhadoken damage I just dont call out assists against him, unless I know it’s worth it.

My sides are splitting, when asked who he thought was worse than Hsien-Ko Cee Dizzy responded “C. Viper IMO”

Wow, it seems like whatever I try to advocate, bart just goes and blow it up. Whatever, no more inputs from me. ahaha

I know people are more then happy to “drop” knowledge but I don’t want knowledge…I want to be critiqued. Like “oh your doing to much of this” versus "did you know ? facts of how you can do this on this and this on that and etc"
Maybe I am just being lazy, how I want people to TELL me instead of me actually figuring shit out.
But I just find it kinda a waste seeing how there is so many people there but NO one is gonna help each other improve other then boding them really hard. I mean if that is the point of the dojo, it is not different from playing online! Where it just games after games with zero input from the player. Don’t get me wrong, getting destroyed is pretty good learning experience but sometimes it is like “WTF exactly happened?” If someone doesn’t even know how they got messed up so bad. How can they even thinking of a way to stop it?

I am not saying EVERYONE have to critic or give input. I think what I am trying to say mostly is people should not be just sitting there and waiting for their turn.

Anyways, Lets get some small tournies going. With pot or no pot money, it be good to bring out a competitive play style versus a more casual playing style.
We can then, if possible record those matches and get that on youtube.
