You don’t have to enter, you can just come for the fun and maybe play casuals. I’ve been to some events where side tourneys and money matches were more hype than the main tournament.
I finally got my copy of marvel yesterday for 2 bucks, felt great. I’m also down 8 games but I wasn’t really playing them anyways. I’ll probably be sharing anthing cool I find in the thread from now on. Been playing with doom/skrull/amaterasu, was concerned with how doom would do on point but he seems pretty solid. Also anyone who says that mvc3 is easy has clearly never tried skrulls loop, seems like I’ll never get it down.
So far I can get ~430,000 consistently with doom without meter, I’m trying to have him act as a sort of battery for skrull who needs meter. Doom seems to have a very good mixup game, if i can get them to block a footdive I can dash cancel forward and j.B for the overhead, or dash cancel down forward and go for a low or a backthrow, but if I grab too early I get a hidden missile which is a terrible thing to do. With ammy ice shots hitting a footdive isn’t terribly hard to do.
I think I need to get skrulls loop down to actually be good with him. It’s pretty much the only way to get good damage off his dive unless it hits once, but that takes pretty precise spacing and I don’t think you can cross up AND hit once. Without the loop I can only get around ~350,000 off of it unless I lvl3. I figured out that he can kara the elastic slam for even better range with hard attack which is nice. Haven’t found any uses for skrull assist but haven’t looked too hard.
If anyone is interested, willing to have 1-2 people over tomorrow after 8 for mvc3. I live in richmond/seacliff area. pm me.

I feel your pain (esp. when trying to tech throws). Good to have a comrade in the Doom army!
Yeah doom can 8-way dash cancel just about all of his normals, makes for good mixups when used with the right assists, but I currently have trouble getting that close to people with him. His normals aren’t as good as MvC2, and I have yet to adjust, but he’s still alot of fun! I especially like his Killzone color 3 :tup:

Hell yea doom! Great as he is, I’m pretty mad about c.b whiffing against some characters after j.b c.a, the range is pretty bad. I think I should just go j.b c.b to fix that. Also I discovered that I don’t necessarily need the skrull loop, I can otg with stone smite if I time the j.s late so I land early.
Doom clone army! I played some Nip Tuck today and he’s very good on point. Great damage meterless, he can get to almost 600k with no super from midscreen. Need to get used to using plasma instead of photon, no more pink laser spam D=. Hidden missile is one of the best assists in the game IMO, it’s like a get-out-of-jail-free card sometimes.

Games will be what people want to play. Definitely MvC3, I’ll likely put a PC station on MvC2/CvS2/Senko No Ronde/SFIII:3S etc. We may have SSFIV, Chaos Breaker, AH3, GG:AC, MB:AC and more! Whatever people want we’ll get going!

Yea now I can get ~550,000 meterless with doom and ~670,000 with meter, it’s pretty tough but I’m getting it. It’s this loop he has that goes launch j.b f+c airdash down-forward j.b land c.b c.c launch, you need to do everything pretty specifically if you want to get 2 reps. I can do 1 rep consistently for 100k less, but I’m workin on it. Getting skrull combos down as well, can get ~600,000 off of anything for 1 meter, can get 800,000+ off of anything for 3 meters. Full screen elastic slam is gdlk. Also practicing his loop, it’s hard but I think I’m getting it. It goes dive launch j.s airdash dive, you have to land on them right when they stop bouncing on the ground but it’s tricky because skrull is offscreen after j.s so you just need to time it right.
Also I noticed that if you tk ironman’s unibeam as low as possible he lands and cancels all recovery. Seems like it could be abusable.

Yeah, that cancel is a huge boon to Dante’s game. He gets so much off it it’s crazy.
oooh gathering. I’m bringing mbaa (w/ ps2 and hookups) so can you guys make sure there’s a TV and at least one more a ps2 compatible stick available.
I have the trashiest PS2 stick on the planet but I do have it. People who can bring monitors/TVs please do so! I have very limited stuff myself so what you contribute largely makes the event!
Viper can kill Phoenix for transforming using her level 3, you have to use it before the explosion to kill her.

Scratch that it’s easier to time using Viper’s 236AA then DHC into task master for a free dead phoenix if you kill her on the ground which is not that hard.
