Alpha counters in this game are very similar to gaurd canceling in AH3. If you do the command if the person is no longer hitting you or whiffed their hit, the assist inadvertendly comes in with no invuln; which is really, really bad in this game. Someone tried the same against me on PSN but I delayed my neck slice, making their assist jump in with no cross-counter effect, and ended up staggering both their characters into party-maker combo. Suffice to say, the match was over at that point just from one bad guess.
That’s indeed very true and leaving holes from mistakes in this pattern is kind of easy, though intentional holes that lead to spacing resets via the medium thunder knuckle feint are amazing too. I’m really worried about the future of this game if getting you to the corner means Viper can take a third of your life and build gauge in the process, we’ll see what happens. ^.^
Corner really sucks in this game, with Doom I can kill Sentinal with one guage and a XFC. Guess it’s even more important to move around constantly?
Well it depends, you don’t need to move if you’re controlling space, KFCing lets you kill anyone pretty much, it’s killing people without KFC that’s useful, thus the <3 for Viper. XD I have a hypothesis, need to check be back shortly.
Morrigan can fly cancel specials, Phoenix cannot. 
New findings, Task master has an extended combo for around 700K solo with 1 meter probably can do more off of it but haven’t found the right way to augment it yet.
Viper can cancel medium thunder knuckle after the hit though it’s not as easy as for the heavy, feint medium knuckle combos into crouch B…
I’m unsure how many reps of medium knuckle feint 2B are possible, but I’m pretty sure that she can lead into bigger damage thanks to this using 2B, 2C xx 236B~(late)S, 2B as an opener for her combo with assist. Note this is not easy to time.
EDIT: Also I’m finding the same problem as you with SJC QCF/TK moves. I need to find optimal inputs so the command interpreter won’t screw me out of a win.
Also, I might money match Coopa FT7. I told him if I win he should come down to stream for us. Not sure what’s going on with that, no confirmation yet. If we do MM, you guys have to help teach me how to get in on Dormammu. I already have a few ideas in theory that I want to test in live practice. I’m also MMing the (in)famous DacidBro for $20, Chrisis, help me blow up Taskmaster!

After watching the Starbase stream tonight, I think a character we might have to work on is Dark Phoenix; Filipino Champ was really strong with her, but I honestly thought that not a lot of people were taking advantage of their hit confirms and going into Phoenix snap-ins.
I’m probably gonna go practice snapbacks right now… like, in some cases, I think that snapping in might be the best combo to open with…
Or, at least, this is what I think we should do in the Phoenix match.
Sure, she’s good on point… but not nearly as good as Dark Phoenix with level 3 X-Factor, so this is a scenario we would probably all like to avoid.
Uh, yeah… I played some arcade and, apparently, if snapping in isn’t readily part of your game plan, it’s actually hard to just start doing it: my entire game kinda just changes and I lose all memory of how to pressure my opponent (I forget that high/low exists?) once I change that 1 little input in my combos.
It needs to be practiced…

@Tasty: Tested some Dorm/Task/Viper stuff and the team’s obnoxious. Dormammu can get 500K from full screen and Task can get like 400K, Dorm + Task assist using something as simple as: task, dark hole xx chaotic flame KFC Chaotic flame does 682K at level 1 X-factor >.<. I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to help you with Task, there’s a lot of different ways he can be played even within offence he could be fishing with air normals or pressuring with spider swing or setting up unblockable etc. >.< He’s fun for sure though! Viper + Dormammu reminded me that Viper’s not just damage and rush down, seismo + purification is incredibly obnoxious and can give characters without teleports a hard time getting in, and it does a decent hunk of damage in the process.
Task Master X-Factor solo with 1 gauge did 1,200,000 on an early attempt X_X. He’s a very high damage character.

Well I pretty much changed my mind about going to MGL. I got my ride lined up and everything but I don’t want to spend money haha. I think I’m gonna sell one of my sticks too just to clear some room.
