Freedemonia in East bay!

so it’s gonna be at Mary park hall today? (which building is that one again? is it the one close to the lake?)

also…

what other games are gonna be there? I’m plannin on bringin’ SSFIV/KOF:98 (DLC)

fawk…and I need coffee…my heads killin’ me right now… >_<

Yeah near Lake Merced.
MVC3 has so much potential. There better be characters you unlock after hella hours of gameplay. None of these DLC crap, where eventually youre paying up to 60 dollars for a new set of characters.

I won’t be there till later, like 4-5. You guys will be short one XBox till then.

There are only 4 characters you can unlock which are Sentinel, Hsien-Ko, Taskmaster, and Akuma. Jill and Shuma are coming in about a month for 5 dollars each so it would be pretty safe to assume that any other dlc will also be $5/per character but hell if I got one of my favorites I wouldn’t mind it.

Also it would be nice to have at least one or two setups for SSFIV or KOF98.

So can anyone confirm if this is today, I’ll pack up and head out if it is.

I cant make it today, hella raining, unless someone wants me to pick me up. HAHA.

Im down for this idea, we could do a like Danisen style. Just like line the set ups by skill. Like the left most is for beginners and as you go right it gets more skilled. So you hop on a set up and if you win like 3 or 5 in a row then you get promoted to the next set up. If you lose 3 or 5 in a row you get demoted one to the left. Since these are casuals we don’t have to be that strict on promote/demote. but it sounds like a decent idea.

We had like one SUPER setup and no one really wanted to play; lawlz.

THAT SAID, in accordance to what Demon Ninja discussed earlier, we should combine the BERKELEY EUDEMONIA and SFSU threads given that it’s causing confusion and that sometimes people forget to check both threads.

I’m all for this if it means that we can artificially inflate the activity of both threads :awesome.gif:

That said, yes, the EU crew will now normally use this thread for spam and MVC3 related posts.

Newest results from the lab:

With 3 meters and no X-Factor, Hulk+Viper DHC can get up to 983K damage.

To put this into perspective: this is a dead Storm.

DISCUSS.

EDIT:

With 2 Meters, it’s 838K, which is still a dead Storm.

Also, yes, I really like this idea.

Essentially, we would put Chrisis and Som in one station, then everyone else in another station.

Lawlz.

GGs to everyone! I had a great time!

I need to stop running into tatsu while rushing down --;.

As for Demoninja’s idea: If it were MvC2 it would just be Som in his own category since he’s so GDLK my Sim still needs to play him again now that I can hit my combos some of the time.

I’d be down to try this out for sure though as that way it’s easier to learn against people who A: You can still act against making your attempts to learn not feel futile, but B: Are still challenging and not easy mode making you deteriorate.

Alternatively just having people cycle around could be good, have 1 station for long sets when you really need to go against a specific person and learn stuff from them, but the others have like a 5 sets win cap where the person’s put in the front of the line for another set up, that way we get to cycle who people are playing against and I won’t have entire days where I miss playing against people who are awesome and I want to play against! D:

Sorry I couldn’t make it! I’m working most of the weekend…

We can organize something akin to what level-up does:

‘A’ station for best players to round-robin

other stations people sign up on to round robin (can only sign up on one station). 2-4 Players with the best W/L in their station get promoted to station A the following session.

Top station A players get to play on A next week, and everyone else gets bumped back down to pool stations.

Could also have a pairs station where people play longer sets but both players get off after finishing.

See you guys next week (hopefully!)

The only thing about that is play variation, getting exposed to lots of different things is how I improve so it gives me incentive to not win so I can play a wider variety Double D:

good point. Maybe a pairs station and a winners-stays-on-for-x-wins station would be best

Hey V, question about parking in the school lots, Do you know if they actually check to see if you paid for parking? Just trying to make sure we’re not wasting five dollars a week >.>

there’s almost always parking lake merced and font blvd

Tron’s ending makes her into a pimp, that is all.

Since we’re moving most of the discussion stuff from the Eudemonia thread here I’ll likely be posting a lot more random MvC2/3 findings.

More MvC3

With Viper on point with Task Master horizontal assist you can kill any character including Sentinel at the very beginning of the match (Unsure on characters with weird tiny hit boxes but most of them have low enough life that it doesn’t matter as you won’t need anywhere near this much damage.) requires the 1 starting meter:
2B, 2C xx 236B KFC, 2B+TaskMaster, 2C xx 236B (TaskMaster hits) 2B, 2C xx 236B xx 236S, 2B, 2C, 5S /-\ 5B, 5B, 5C xx 214S -/ 5B, 5S /-\ 5B, 5C, 5S -/ 623A xx 214AA 1,462,800 damage.
Viper builds enough gauge in the combo to do the EX burn kick and super. on lower health characters remove the EX burn kick air section and just go straight into the OTG Burst Time so you’ll have 9/10 of a meter for their second character.

Likely works with other assists than TaskMaster but his is easy to time.

More findings later. ^.^

Edit:

This can be done off opening low 2B and High *Burn kick feint S -/ 5A also available off a triangle jump S.

You actually gain super gauge when using the combo into seismo to kill characters with MODOK’s health or lower. Timing the one off of the burn kick feint is much harder thanks to hit stun scaling.

Using just the post KFC section of this combo you add in a double jump to the first rep and you can kill all characters with deadpool or lower health from 1 starting gauge without using KFC…

2B+TaskMaster, 2C xx 236B (TaskMaster hits) 2B, 2C xx 236B xx 236S, 2B, 2C, 5S /-\ 5B, 5B, 5C, 8, 5B, 5C xx 214S -/ 5B, 5S /-\ 5B, 5B, 5C, 8, 5B, 5C, 5S -/ 623A xx 214AA 920,000 damage

Double edit: Also works with phoenix TK shot assist, Trish’s projectile assist and likely some others.

Those some others include Dante’s crystal*

Good stuff:

Thanks to the idea above, I was able to find a variation that does 1.4M-1.5M without assist (you build meter during the length of the combo and, while not necessarily Sentinel specific, is easier to do on him):

5A, 5B, 5C, QCF A, X-factor, 2A, 2B, 2C, QCF A, QCF S, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2S, super jump, JB, JB, JC, double jump, JB, JB, JC, QCB S, land, 5S, super jump, JB, JB, JC, double jump, JB, JB, JS, land, DP A, QCB A+B

While this is cool and all, I likely wouldn’t use it at the very beginning of the match because I might need X-Factor later in the round…

I would do it if my opponent was down to his last character, however.

Actually, I’d better get to developing XFC combos myself; haven’t really been paying attention to them given that I really only like using X-Factor for my anchor character.

That’s why I made a variation without an X-factor that kills half the cast still.

Okay, after seeing that Akuma infinite by Desk I want to use him even more. I’m just gonna start with Akuma/Sent for now. Anyone have ideas for a 3rd while I work on getting down some BnBs and maybe try to get a few reps of that infinite down.

Edit: scratch the above haha I just remembered if I want to give that MGL thing a serious shot I have to stick with what I picked so I’ll just ask for pointers with the team I got now.

For Ammy’s IOH j.A is there any way to follow it up in any stance besides Sword stance? Also, what was her relaunch combo after j.B, j.B, j.C, j.C, j.C into ?? I don’t remember the rest.

For Sent, was the fly/unfly combo 2B, S, j.C, fly, A, A, B, C, unfly, j.B, j.B, j.S, otg into super?
