Me and Nam would like to point out that Butters placed exactly the same as Nam and Adam. I would also like to point out that I went 1-2. Making me an uber scrub, playing against me would just make you guys worse. Based on this, I can tell you that I am doing every one of you a favor.
Adam, you need to live in a bigger place. Your ability to only host four or five people at a time is really pulling us apart at the seems. You should move into the Duquesne student union, this way you can have gatherings that meet the needs of everyone and is located in a convenient location.
Also, I’d like to point out that I don’t think most of us “exclude” anyone on purpose, it’s more a matter of Hey we are playing at so and so’s but they can only host like 3 people and you have a car.
It’s more of a mater of convenience than like “ohh don’t let the scrubs play”. Again, I can see how it could be perceived that way but I’d like to let everyone know that I don’t do it on purpose or to like specifically exclude anyone. In fact, we’ve only played games at my house twice since I’ve met everyone.
I dunno, its whatever at this point I just don’t want to see the community split or people stop playing. That isn’t going to help ANYONE.

i recall an occasion where jake and i went to butter’s place as well (and it was just us three)

RJ is right about this shit getting blown way out of proportion. we’re arguing based on a suggestion that jake made for a 5v5 team. if jake said “hey guys, i want to be in this 5v5 team so adam/rj/mark/bobby/and i could own that shit” i wouldn’t be like “boo boo, why am i not on the team” i’d just be like “well, looks like i gotta find four fucking teammates”

I will choose to believe that the reason only a select few get to go to gatherings right now is due to space problems, since if Nate’s argument that “it’s in their best interests” is the real reason, then that would say quite a bit about our community and I would feel like a real douche for supporting it up to this point.
As for the team thing, I really didn’t mind not being included, my post was tongue in cheek which I suppose can kind of be lost on the internet.

At any rate, I’ll repeat what I’ve said on many occasions: I want to get better and help everyone else get better. I have a car. I have a television, a 360, and 2 360 sticks that I can bring along (I’ve been bringing the TV to Stephan’s rather frequently lately). I can host if it’s needed, though it’d probably be better elsewhere since I am one of the few that can bring a full setup every time.
As for the team against Detroit: I say just make it Jake, TJ, Nam, Adam, and Aaron unless someone has stepped it up by that time. Mark and Jake play the same character, so Aaron seems like the best pick.
My point in the end was we’re wondering when and where people were playing but no one tells us anything because we aren’t “good enough.” But if its in people’s “best interests” to not tell those they deem unworthy of the session time then I don’t know, maybe it’s in those who aren’t told about sessions “best interests” to let the community be since they don’t seem to even be a part of it.
I offered to hold sessions with multiple setups, Bobby has offered and can do the same. People don’t show up, we’ll just stop offering and mentioning things. No one is bitching about Street Fighter, TJ. People are bitching about the elitist bullshit going on. I mean hell, at this point I’m waiting for you (multiple you) to start pulling some shit like “if you want to play me, pay me for my time” since now it’s in your best interest to exclude us.

When I originally read Jakes post, the thought didn’t even cross my mind about any of this.
However, I’m really happy that Rocksteady, Stephan, and others stepped up and voiced their opinion. That shows a lot of character, and it means you guys care, and it also means your not afraid to say whats on your mind. And I like that a lot. Always think for yourself, and never be afraid to call stuff like you see it.
It’s really cool of you guys to defend me and Rj, but, it’s really not like what you think. I can only speak for myself, but for real this is not an issue with me whatsoever and never was. I would be confident and proud of any of these guys in the 5 v 5, because you guys are all strong as hell players, and I believe in and would support any Pittsburgh team.
We’re a brotherhood here guys, and that’s cool because brothers fight from time to time. I really like the idea of this round robin to determine the players. That was a really good idea on Outlaws part. The thing is, we all need to play each other anyways, and theres gunna be a lot of leveling up between now and this tournament. I need to learn alot about Viper, Honda, and Bison matchups, and Jake you gotta take me under your wing with that. I am also really itching to play Tj and Nam.
So, this was going to happen anyways, and now that there’s spots on a team at stake, that’s gunna heat up the competition and make it more intense. That’s a good thing.
I’ve known Tj for 5 years, and I can tell you. This kid is probably our best player. He was rusty, I knew right away, cause I’ve been to enough tournaments to know what goes wrong. I promise you, he will have no problem locking a spot in the round robin.
Jake has better experience with Honda, Viper, and Dictator, so I’d say he’s a lock as well. Nam I haven’t played in forever, and I do have trouble with E Honda. IMO it’s going to be me, Rj, Adam, and Guiseppe fighting for the last two spots. Actually scratch that, Adam is free, so it’s me Rj and G man fighting it out for the spots.
I don’t thing anyone had that intention. The meetups at Adams place are Super SF4 focused only, and we were all preparing for Cincinatti and then Cleveland. The only guys that showed were people going to those two tournaments.
Bottom line is we would all rather play at Duquesne or AIP, but they’re closed. There’s nothing we can do about that. Trust me there’s no reason to get upset. I’m sorry if you felt that way, but I promise you no one is trying to exclude anyone. We are in a bad postion right now because the main spots that supports tons of people are closed. I offered to have people over here, but I can only have 5 people, 7 tops. It’s a 1 bedroom apartment.
Right now we’re all trying to make due with a shitty situation. Hell I would throw a massive party at my house in Uniontown and invite all of you guys in a second if I still lived there. My basement is huge.

So you’re interested in a SSFIV 5v5 versus MI to run at C-bus Bar Battles? I can try to talk to those guys to see if they can get a team together. If not, Perfect Legend (who plays with them all the time) and maybe someone else could be tacked on? Running this SBO style wouldn’t take too long and Brent said he was good to do it on the stream. Just keeping everyone posted – there’s still another month and a half I think to their tourney.
Oh and Xbox Live play is garbage. I’m convinced it’s making me a worse player.
From now on I will play only Lost Planet 2 as practice for SSF4. SSF4 offline only, and when I’m not leveling up offline I’ll be reading SRK and watching matches to get better.
