I developed it against Wesker, Ryu and Chris, which I’d consider the “standard” size, so I wanna say it works on a lot of the cast already from that. So far I’ve confirmed it on Frank West, Tron, Sentinel, and Hulk, and I’ll be updating this post as I try out other cast members.<div><br></div><div>I know it doesn’t work on Shuma, but that’s only because of the cosmic weight that makes him go soaring when you use a pillar on him. :(</div><div><br></div><div>EDIT: After some more testing, I’ve found the combo is completely viable on Nemesis, Hulk, Sentinel, Taskmaster, Jill, Morrigan, Storm, Zero and Tron. Against the smaller characters the Dormammu combo starts out differently, but the Chaotic Flame -> Frank levels concept works perfectly fine against Ammy, Arthur, Zero, Rockoon, and Spider-Man. With this, I would conclude that it is universal except against Shuma-Effing-Gorath</div>
For your finisher what about this?<div><br></div><div>Snapshot (spencer assist) QCF+H QCF+M Knee drop (call dorm) Snapshot QCF+Mxxsuper?</div>

Why do that?
Ooh, Fizzy, I’m liking that combo a lot. Does it still work after a not cr.M st.H starter, as in, is there enough hitstun when connecting with flame carpet mixups and multi-hitting assists, such as shopping cart? Because if there is, Dorm’s incoming mixups are pretty much the coolest things ever, there could be some hard-to-blockable frank setups after a kill, and that just sounds too fun.<br>
Hey, so I was wondering if there’s any tech floating around to get Frank to level four using Skrull with Tenderizer assist.<div><br></div><div>I’m using Nova/Frank/Skrull, and I just switched yesterday to using Tenderizer instead of Orbital Grudge. Orbital Grudge was working pretty well as a combo extender for Nova and let me get two bars to level Frank off a beginning-of-the-match airthrow…but at the end of the day I feel like it’s not a good assist. Tenderizer just seems too good to pass up–for both incoming mixups and resets (as well as getting Frank an easy 940k corner combo when Nova’s dead or 987k when he’s still alive) it’s beastly, and it lets Nova do his triple centurian arts finishers. It causes so much hitstun decay that really small combo variations make the difference between an opponent getting a finisher or flipping out and getting reset–and it’s really hard to predict if you haven’t experimented with it yourself a lot.</div><div><br></div><div>So that being said, obviously what I really lose here is the ability to THC level Frank when Nova dies. TAC’ing into Skrull for the DHC WST is obviously an option, but not one I’d use terribly often. I’d generally rather get a solid level 3 than have a 66% chance of level 4, but well masked (in tools L loops for example), it’s pretty viable. The standard relaunch corner press combo gets two pictures and 38 points (39 with perfect timing) for Frank plus the option to Survival Tools (on bigger characters) or FFC reset, which means a second combo is a definite level 4. This seems to be the best non-THC option I’ve found so far. Anyone else worked on this and have suggestions?</div><div><br></div><div>Even though tenderizer raises the opponent to above Frank’s shoulder height, you can’t BLS through it after a long combo because of 1) the massive hitstun decay 2) the weird last hit that knocks them above the cart. Theoretically, a cr.HS MMHd.H Picture (Tenderizer hits) Picture BLS S sj.S Picture would net level 4 (just about exactly), but the height doesn’t seem to be quiteee enough for the relaunch after BLS. That being said, I was trying this on bigger characters, so it’s possible it works but isn’t universal.</div><div><br></div><div>Thoughts?</div>
<div>Some ideas here:</div><div><br></div>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fggoY4pxn6A<div><br></div><div>And this guy plays that team:</div><div><br></div><div>http://www.youtube.com/user/devilsephiroth9000<br></div>
Cape, for the ender, I had actually played around and what I got was QCF+H -> Roundhouse Kick M -> Roundhouse Kick H + Dark Hole -> Roundhouse Kick M -> Snapshot -> Super. I really wish I could fit a Tools of Survival M in there but the hitstun at that point is too great to get the hard knockdown. Though if it’s on an incoming mixup with Flame Carpet, you could probably salvage the wall bounce and use it later… actually, most definitely you could, and then the BnB could go ToS H -> ToS M -> RH Kick M -> RH K H + Dark Hole -> RH K M -> Snapshot.<div><br></div><div>Duke, off of an incoming Flame Carpet + Shopping Cart + Mass Change M in the corner, I got two combos. One is if they land in the Flame Carpet and are standing, you can come down with H, then confirm into a Dark Matter combo, Mass Change H, come down with H again, catch with a Stand M, launch into air combo, and you’ll spike them back down into the corner where the gimmick can be done again. If they hit Flame Carpet and stay in the air, Frank will push them back into the corner even after you teleport behind, so you can do any easy modo combo and do the gimmick. So yeah, off of Dorm mixups, theoretically you should be getting Level 5 Frank.</div><div><br></div><div>Also, I met that Devil Sephiroth guy at ReveLAtions. He was very… talkative, but he also kept telling me I was doing it wrong with Nemesis on point and Frank 2nd.</div>

Most cases, frank can get to level 3 easy with just one assist (i.e. Armour Piercer)<br>And in other cases, those seen to get to level 4 with no meter requires the whole team just built around him which isn’t too great unless you actually use those characters.

Don’t listen to the Frank on point heathens; salvation lies within the Church of Chainsaws.<br>
I got Frank to about 3 with Wesker. <div><br></div><div>Not sure if he could get to 4 with wesker off one touch though </div>
In my experience Frank can typically get to Level 3 solo, and Level 4 with one Double Snap Assist [tm] (like Spencer’s Horizontal Grapple)

Yeah I’ve watched a lot of his videos, and they’re really good…but he uses Stone Smite. I respect that, but I’m really interested in Tenderizer’s potential. I tried the combo in that video and I think getting lvl 3 with two pictures then doing survival tools after a relaunch combo is more reliable (and does more damage).<div><br></div><div>I wish I had the equipment to make a video for this, but I did find a way to get level four with one bar and tenderizer assist using BLS. It’s not terribly reliable the way I’m doing it now, but I’m going to see if I can tweak it. There are two ways to do it depending on screen position. If you have your back to the corner, you can cr.H sj.MMHd.H, call skrull, picture, dash forward a little, picture right after the last hit of tenderizer knocks them away, and BLS. The height works at least on bigger characters (haven’t tested this a lot yet), and it gets you level four. If your opponent is closer to the corner, you can do the same combo, call skrull, picture, then triple plink dash under so you’re a reasonable distance away on the other side, picture after tenderizer’s last hit, then BLS in the opposite direction from the way you started.</div><div><br></div><div>I can’t imagine how this would work if you started with your opponent in the corner, but for the positions I’ve mentioned (which are almost all positions except cornered opponent) it should work on smaller characters too. The hitstun from the second picture lets them fall to about waist height before they flip out, so you could theoretically just gauge the fall and BLS as needed. The timing’s prettyyyyy tight though, so I’m not sure how practical this is.</div><div><br></div><div>Just thought I’d post it in case anyone’s interested in playing with Tenderizer tech. You guys do such an amazing job and I’ve been lurking here for so long, I wanted to contribute something :P</div>
Also, I don’t know if I’ve asked this question before and the new SRK layout is slightly confusing me… How do you do Firebrand’s 2nd Bon Voyage into the CSL? I’ve been trying it in Training Mode but every time they just fall and get back up.<div><br></div>
First of all, make sure you’re not doing the second bon voyage towards the corner, they need some space before they fall or you won’t have time to do much.<br><br>If I recall it’s just go straight into mode (or his fire hyper, but why not have a superquick swoop assist?) and DHC to tools, picture. <br><br>Here’s the video that inspired the tech, though I’m not sure anyone has a video for that specific tech.<br><br>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1G_ybt65Rjk<br><br><br><br><br>Planning on trying Firebrand with Frank and Dormammu? It would totally work. By the way, other good FB/Frank tech is on low levels of hitstun, in doing an air bon voyage towards the corner, you can tag in Frank and cr.L. So, that means cr.LMH S, MMH bon voyage, Tag Frank, cr.LMH S MHS, groundbounce, S, HS, land and picture, not sure if you can add other normals, I haven’t played that pairing for more than half a year, but it is quite good. <br>

Alright, time for learning! I’m having trouble finding a meter positive Firebrand bnb, but I’ll get there!
Cape, tell me why again you dropped Firebrand/Frank/IM when it’s so broke? I guess it does kinda fall apart if it doesn’t get the first hit, but still, dang. We used to talk brainstorm about Firebrand/Frank a bunch, shame we both dropped that pair.<br><br>Oh yeah, and for the record, Fizzy, swoop is godlike in speedboost mode, and extends okay, but charge is probably Frank’s best assist for combos. the otg fire, basically worthless on frank.<br>
Duke, I looked at that team again tonight. Its stupider than I remember.
I found more ways to level up Frank with Firebrand (level 4 off a touch) and even meterless ways that work on the entire cast. I have combos off any random confirm that builds at least one meter and ends with a level 4 Frank. Even off Frank’s raw ass shopping cart. This team is hilariously good.
Any hit leads to level 4 Frank. Love love love love love it!
I didn’t see this anywhere but just as a side note you can do the side switching proton cannon and DHC into BLS if you’re not midscreen. So you can level Frank up from anywhere with IronMan with either Proton Cannon or Iron Avenger.
Every time we get new tech, TheCape’s team gets a little better.
Lol
Also, Shieldskills, I agree with your signature quite a bit.
