FPS fans unite oh TPS people too!

Don’t get me wrong though, I’m definitely glad that I played through Bioshock and Halo 3 certainly delivers for it’s fans with the sheer amount of multiplayer content that’s in it.

Just picked up the orange box. See yall on that ggpo tf2 server!

i was kind of disappointed in the id pack sold on steam

first off, the dos games (heretic, hexen, doom) running on dosbox look like shit when i launch em from steam

their resolution is all fucked up and theres no way of changing it

luckily i can still access the .wad files so i can play them using zdoom, doomsday engine and other more modern doom engines.

similarly, i can’t adjust the resolution in hexen 2 because it says i have to do it in the command line. but i can’t launch it from the command line since im launching from steam

i’ll find work arounds i’m sure but this package was not polished at all

You know why I think FPS are so much fun?

Because they’re so immersive. Nothing else makes you feel like you’re really living the game.

I am about to try and kill a shark in Crysis lulz

Favorite FPS: Team Fortress 2. I don’t think I have ever played any other FPS with as much fun and competitiveness as this game.

First FPS: Wolfenstein maybe, then Doom II, but I don’t really remember it that much other than those games scaring me as a kid. Unreal Tournament was the first I fondly remember.

FPS I wished got more attention: Team Fortress Classic. It was sad to see TFC lose everyone to CS. I never got to play TFC with others because everyone else was all CS, so I went along with that. So I’m one of the few that play TF2 not really having experienced the great days of TFC, and that kind of bums me out.

^Yo jie AKA everyone copied monbabys posting style whatup. I was going to get it but by the time I got back from my trip the deal ended but then I realized Q3 was all I wanted anyways and I already have doom on xbla.

Can’t get enough of TF2 such a beastly game.

So many godtier fps coming out soon here’s campaign and multiplayer vids and don’t forget to watch in high quality:

IW makes Call of Duty. No one else does.

The sheer amount of great online FPS’es on 360 is making me want to buy one on the soon…

TFC is good, but you are honestly playing the better game. The Pyro and Spy were pretty terrible in TFC, for starters.

First FPS: Golden Eye. Used to play this with my friends back in elementary school.

Favourite FPS: Single Player - Half Life 2, Call of Duty 1 + expansion. Both have really immersive single player campaigns and good narratives. Honorable mention goes to FEAR for having great AI and making good use of bullet time.

Multiplayer - UT99. IMO still the best of the series. The game play was fast, fun relatively simple, and super addictive. One of the few games I can say I’ve played for hundreds of hours.

BTW: The first reviews for Crysis Warhead are out on IGN and PC Zone. Apparently they weren’t lying about the performance increase.

It would be nice if there was another kind of game. I have had mine since 2005 and its been great, but damn, its a WWE fan of gaming systems.

You have FPS!!! GAMESS!!! (3 new ones a week), sports games!!, driving games!!, run around as somebody and kill games!!!. I swear to god, thats it…

Any love for Fallout 3 coming soon?

Looks hot.

I’d consider Fallout 3 more of a First Person RPG than a shooter, but meh. The new videos of it look really promising but I’m still a bit iffy about it. Considering it’s being made by Bethesda and not Black Isle, I just hope it’s able to maintain the spirit of the old Fallout games.

There are so many toptier non fps games out there if you’d bother to look at the 360 library and even more coming out between now n next year but please read the thread title k thx.

Anyone pickup crysis warhead?

but they’re mostly good as hell…

I think.

I have the same worries.

Bethesda is a talented developer, but Neverwinter Nights 2 left a lot to be desired.

I can only hope I don’t feel the same disappointment with FO3.

Played it for 20 minutes, haven’t pick it back up since. At this point, for me, Stalker: Clear Sky > Warhead.

Haven’t really gave it a chance though.

Stalker takes a shit on Crysis easily.

L4D!!!

I believe the very first FPS I saw was Wolfenstein - my cousin had it YEEEEEEAAARSSSSS ago. I thought it was pretty cool but I was still too young to get into it.

I also remember playing Doom on a friend’s computer and I also thought it was pretty cool.

But I will gladly label my FPS cherry officially popped when I started playing GoldenEye. I used to play that game so much that I’d see the crosshairs when I closed my eyes to sleep O_O So many memories of GoldenEye… Like someone said earlier, it would sure be nice to be back in middle school!

I will give credit to GoldenEye for my next selection of Perfect Dark. Perfect Dark has like the BEST multiplayer options and modes and scenarios and weapons. I believe the 64 system didn’t give the game and it’s creators full justice. It was still an amazing multiplayer experience, especially for it’s time.

Battlefield 1942 is still on my favorite list too. The WW2 franchise is definitely worn out, but it’s such a simple game that anyone can just pick it up and get into it. It’s also one of those games when you have some good teammates beside you, the fun factor just soars. I would definitely recommend people playing it first if they haven’t gotten into the BF series and would like to.

** I guess I see now I am a pretty big fan of FPSs. Lately I tried getting into TF2, but honestly, I think it’s not very appealing. I am a pretty hard core gamer, but I get bored of it very easily.

I WAS GONNA MAKE AN AVATAR LIKE YOURS ASSHOLE

Anyway, I haven’t played too much of STALKER really, but I liked what I played. I particularly like nighttime sequences, which makes everyone blind as fuck.
