There are so many great fps games out there new and old and even more coming out in the near future so under adverse’s suggestion I decided to make a general thread for all who enjoy the occasional headshot.
So to get started what is your favorite fps?
What’s the first fps you’ve ever played?
which fps do you love/hate/wish got more attention?
I loved Unreal Tournament, back when it came out I had no PC so me my brother, cousin and friends used to go to those gaming centers all the time to play UT. I’d say Goldeneye is my favorite(and was the first I played too), closely followed by UT.
CoD4 Single player is the best I’ve played since goldeneye’s. MP was a spam fest though. CS is based around who can click the fastest when turning corners, pass. TF2 is ok if you play 20min sessions, after that it gets really stale.
Counter-Strike/Source… No matter how old… It’s still fast and fun. Still play it every now and then. Pretty much the only FPS game I play. Use to play Unreal Tournament… But I just don’t find these games worth buying anymore.
Man I’ve gone through so many FPS’s.
Started with Wolfenstien and then Doom.
Then big time into multiplayer goldeneye and turok, with a little duke nukem 64 thrown in there.
Duke Nukem! All outta gum, but I got some cash if you wanna come back to my place.
At some point I got unreal tournament 2k, so awesome.
Moved up to timesplitters on the ps2, makin a fuckin siezure hall.
Discovered Perfect Dark after its day, but such a too good game.
Counter strike is so good, stopped playing soon after 1.5 iirc. Finally took a PC fps seriously.
Hellgate London FPS/rpg sucks big donkey cock.
I don’t play any now, unless you’re consider Fallout 3 to be an FPS after it comes out.
Tribes 1 is still number 1 in my heart. It was the first online FPS I ever owned, and I spent a lot of time playing it. I wasn’t too good at it, but it was such an amazing game.
I’m still trying to find the perfect FPS on PSP; the *Coded Arms *serieswas particularly dope to me, but the truly amazing PSP FPS will probably never come. Third-Person does very well on the PSP though, with *SOCOM *dominating the all-time lists and *Resistance *on the way…
yes, I have a copy of this somewhere and it was like five bucks! good play, though
LOL, I still remember the command to say Shazbot ( VGS ).
And Tribes 2 was not bad at all either. I remember times when my team would try to fit about 50 people into a 4 man APC vehicle and I would get so mad that it took forever for them to take off, I would jump off the APC and shoot it at one side, the APC would tilt to the other side and everyone would fall to there death on the other side of the landing strip, haha too good.
I used to love Quake 2 CTF…i miss railgun camping. Niggas used to cry.
Obviously getting niggas wet with the rcp-90 in Goldeneye was the shit. Aw to be in middle school again.
Halo 2 was the shit. For me H3 didnt have the replay value of H2. Then again when H2 dropped i was in college and we used to have 4 tvs just lined up and played for hours.
Doom 2. Game was badass
Duke Nukem. Badass, first true 3d.
CoD4. maybe perfect, I dont know.
Half-Life. perfect.
CS. Funness.
Halo series. A+.
Unreal tournament 1.
Favorite. Doom 2. For what it was at the time, amazing. And intimidating!!
For me there are 2 kinds of fps; the kinds you play for fun and the kinds you play for the competitiveness of it. For campaign: Deus Ex 1, Turok2, System Shock 1 and 2, Bioshock 1, Half-Life 1 and 2 were the mot fun and evolved what a FPS could be.
For competitive play; UT04, UT2: TLC, and Q3 Arena are kings. Crysis2 is very underrated too.
