Crono_Marle: I wish I had a 360 so that I could play stuff on Live, but at the moment it’s just PS3 for me. Maybe that will change in the next year. Thank’s for the offer though.
Brent: I read the interview. It was good stuff. Like Renegade Ferret said, you were spot on with your assessment that fighting game players work much harder than FPS players. Hell, I’ve been working extremely hard at both HDR and SFIV for the last 7 months or so and I’m still amongst the scrubbiest of scrubs. On the flipside, I know people who picked up Halo or Killzone, and dedicated a month or two to getting really good and they are at the top of the game. It just takes an entirely different mindset and a lot more skill IMO.
Regardless of how he did he now knows that he’ll be forced to go through more Brent HDR boot camp and improve on his game. Losing out the way he did will no longer be tolerated in HDR tournaments.
Spencer - I have a proposition for you that you might be interested in but it will take work should you choose to travel down this path. Should you fail you will face incredible embarrassment but you should be used to that by now. Should you succeed, however, you will reap the incredible feeling of overcoming an obstacle in the fighting game tournament scene… sort of. I can’t be any more vague than this so I’m sending you a PM to explain everything in detail.
Rex - Next time I see you on Live we will have to talk. I won my first match actually, so I went 1 and 2. ActionHank and Murderbydeath both knocked me out, both of which play HDR a little more than I do. I really need to start plugging more hours into that game, I have had too much SF4 in the mix. I was a bit disappointed in my STHD play in the tournament, I will have to get further Chun training by the one-and-only Immortal. I placed lower than some players that I know I have the ability to beat. Heck, I placed lower than the person I sent to losers in round 1.
Spencer - Nice work in SF4 man. I can tell you are improving. I say stick with Sagat.
hey anyone what to be a game judge for the tourney? so far BB & 3S have someone, but the rest dont. you get your entrance fee waived. check the Indianapolis thread to see what we need you to do for watching a bracket.
i would like to just stick with Indiana people running this tourney so that is why im posting here asking you guys too
Anyone else playing Blazblue? I picked it up last night, and it’s definitely kicking my ass right now. I haven’t played Guilty Gear since 04, and it’s all been ST since then, other than IV. I feel like I’m so out of control, it seems so much less precise. Any other thoughts?
Nice interview Brent. Honestly is the best policy I always say. This must be your lucky week cause Renee says she will be making lasagna for ya:wtf: Guess you have earned your food stripes and worked off your first food missteps:razzy: Make sure you kiss butt when you get here(assuming she does make it).
Dave should be happy then. Speaking of which…are you still coming Dave? I am hoping so.
Man I gotta say Transformers2 was a pretty bad film:tdown: I was really looking forward to Devestator and some of the other robots, not 2 hours of bad, pointless, and boring acting by no talent meatbags:nono:
Spencer - I’ll get you his address tomorrow for the party.
Astral - yeah I will volunteer to judge. Whatever game is needed I suppose or if you wanted to stick me on HDR I guess that would make sense.
Clem - gg’s tonight and hopefully learning little Chun Li tricks over time will get you up the rankings. Perhaps just watch some NKI videos. I got to my current state of “Chunners” by blending my own style of her along with some NKI style of her. Occassionally I’m trying to mix in a few Japanese things I see from AutoChun or Nuki but it’s a slow process with me.
i think your chun is good vs vegas, i geuss cuz u play vega. i remember sb3 that pretty guy was all over the place.
clem- oh yeah forgot you was on that sf4 tip, why didnt u do better in sf4!?
we gotta get some more games in sometime soon, if i can ever not be owned by homework :bluu:
Abe - Yeah I’m coming. I should be there around 7:30 or 8 or so. I get lasagna too??? It’s bout to be a good night! And Transformers…man don’t even get me started.
Brent - So I read the interview…I wonder what I’ll be this weekend…Jekyll or Hyde…me thinks I’ll be the one that’s beasting! :badboy:
Brent: I enjoyed reading the interview. You always have good stuff to say.
Everyone: Well, ALL my memory for my profile was gone off just my HD yesterday. I did an update on BlazBlue and I went back to ST 4 to find that my data was gone. Boy am I glad that I have a backup on my computer!!! I would have been so mad. The only thing I lost was about 1500 matches and all my Champion Mode stats. My rank for CM and ranked matches transferred back onto my backup data.
Has anyone had this before? I mean, I lost all my VF5 data (hours there), Soul Cal (more hours), COD 4, and much more. I don’t know if it was from the update for sure but I was so surprised that I had lost all that info and on just my HD. I have backups that I keep on my memorycards but they were plugged into the 360 when it happened. All that memory data stayed on the memory cards.
I’ve only heard of this happening with a game demo from Official PlayStation Magazine YEARS ago, where if you played it, it wiped your memory card clean. Other than that, That is news to me.
I enjoyed Friday very much, and I wished I would have gone to Milan’s Sat. but I was to exhausted and didn’t even know when it started ><.
Oh and Abe, Renee’s lasagna was delicious please tell her so for me (I’m Spencer (NOT Travis) btw). It eerily tasted like my mom’s lasagna (which I find to be very good fyi).
Hey thanks for playing Friday and Saturday, gang. Glad Dave made it both days and glad to hear he will be staying longer than originally planned.
Dave - stick with Ken like we keep telling you. Remember when Clisaac and I kept telling you to stick with Ryu for the Gamestop tournies and you were undefeated in the ones you attended. And now we are telling you to stick with Ken if you refuse to play as Ryu and you were trying to turn into beastly “Hyde” mode. You should follow our expert advice.
Abe - thanks for having us Friday night. Thanks to Renee for the lasagna! Fight Night was a fun little departure from the normal fighting game scene. I wish I would have remembered to bring UFC along.
Milan - thanks for hosting Saturday. Got to see most of Blade for the first time. Also got to see HDTV lag like a mo-fo on HDR. Haha. But it worked out nicely for T5DR, SF4, and of course the almighty Gunstar Heroes. Hey is your cousin Chad on Facebook? I don’t know his last name so I can’t really search for him.

If anyone hasn’t watched the “I Got Next” movie yet you should check it out. There is a “short cut” version out and then full length version featuring updated footage from Evo and other stuff will be added to the full version to be released in December. The short cut is about 45 minutes I believe. You can watch the trailer straight from the website and then download different versions including an HD version.
Also in case anyone cares but hasn’t seen the grand finals video is up from my HDR victory at the recent Arcade Legends 2 tournament.

Hey I know a few of you know what I’m talking about here. I had a score on the DC version of MvC2 with Cable/Juggernaut/Captain America that seemed like it was kind of high. I think it showed up on a few of your games because I probably brought a memory card over to your houses sometime. I think Dave, Clem, and Gary probably know what I’m talking about. Do any of you have quick access to MvC2 on DC? I was wondering if someone can tell me what that score was.
I wish I could of made it out on Friday, sounds like it was a good time. Also, I watched I Got Next and really enjoyed it. Ian Coffino, the director’s, motion graphics work was excellent, and all of the interviews are really interesting.
