I just want to thank everyone again for coming out. I’m so grateful to everyone for showing up. It means a lot to me to know that people are willing to show up to an event I host.
That said, I learned a lot from this weekend.
Also, Brent, your so much better at the Youtube thing than I am. I am quite lazy when it comes to it, and even then I don’t fill in any of the info about the vid like you do. So your gonna be the main person for that I think.
This also makes some of the things I want to do with this…shindig? All the more possible. So, be on the lookout for:
-Match Streaming: Because Brent and My phones are capable of this, we may very well start doing this. I’m not sure how successful it will be, but it’s something I’m certainly looking into.
-Match Commentary: I’m not sure if we are just going to have this on a dedicated station, or just the potential stream station, but I feel that it will be very helpful when reviewing our matches, as well as just general overall game knowledge. I’d like to have Brent or Gary on this, or anyone who feels comfortable talking about the game, and character’s that aren’t their main (I don’t think I could talk about how good someone’s Cody is, but I could do a Cammy/Juri you know?)
-Interviews: I love the idea of getting to know everyone in our community, and seeing what’s new with them. A huge part of fighting games imo is the community. As such, what better way to…nurture? it than with some one-on-one “Face Time.” Maybe someone pulled out a clutch victory, or was just on fire that night. Maybe someone is new, and made a strong showing. Whatever the case, I want to know about it, and pref. have it documented.
-Growth: This is the biggest thing to me. I love our crew, and what we do. But it could always be better. More people, more games, stronger competition, leveling the fuck up, and most importantly: MORE FUN! So, expect more games other than Super Street Fighter 4 to be played at future events! (There may not be a ranbat for it, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t play it! If it’s fun, or you enjoy it, PLAY IT!)
-THE RANBAT RANKING SYSTEM: This is the one that’s giving me the most trouble so far. I’m not sure what to do with a few things regarding it:
- The Point System: I’ll have to look into how others are doing this, but I think what will happen is that getting 1st place gets +5 points, 2nd gets +3, 3rd gets +2, 4th gets +1, and everyone gets 1 point for showing up.
So, Brent would currently have 6 points, Greg would have 4, Lars = 3, FJ = 2, and Ryan, Spencer, Puff, and Mike all have 1. - How the point system will be viewable to all: This is basically something that I need really soon to keep track of everything for the whole “season”. if I can’t find anything that I like, I’m sure I can create an application/web app that would do what I wanted it to. But I’m going to look into Google Docs as another option (for an excel spreadsheet). Maybe even a dropbox, and just password protect the file from changes so that only I can change it, but everyone can view it.
- How long the season will be: I’m thinking 6 weeks to a season/6 sessions, but it’s really as long as you guys want to make it. There may be a prize for the winner, actually, there will very likely be a prize, but nothing to fancy since there is no entry fee.
- Entry fee? Entry fee means we can make this thing better, get prizes, etc, etc. If this does get implemented, it would probably be a once per season thing, and the prize would be either the money, or bought with the money.
Whew! That was a long post, and certainly could be longer, but I’ll stop there. Just…something…with words?..I think.

Speaking of the youtube channel I have all the vids from my phone up and finished. I quickly changed the “interview” videos to “goof off” vids. I will do vids like these but they didn’t seem like real interviews in the sense I was thinking of so I will also do some real interviews sometime and label them as such.
Also note that this is open to more than just Street Fighter. In fact after thinking about it a little this will be open to more than just fighting games. If someone wants to do videos on racing games, fps, music games, etc then let’s try it and see what happens. I’m not only talking gameplay but also interviews or just goofy informal chatter like what we did at IHOP. Sadly my friend Rob no longer frequents Fort Wayne. He works in the gaming industry as a programmer/software engineer and I would have enjoyed doing some interview with him but he’s out in Cali now last I checked. I’m thinking perhaps we should get with Gamestop employee and legend Carlos sometime to get his thoughts on game-related stuff. Just remember to keep this Fort Wayne related and also game related. It needs to be both please.
Yes, so no muncie videos? Also, I got my copy of HnK working again. >< I’m quickly realizing how broken toki actually is. He doesn’t need half the things the game provides and he’d still be a top-tier character.
But I’m tempted to make a combo video for him. It’ll be nothing special like they already have out there, but…actually I just got an idea. What if we made a fort wayne fighting game video. A super video. Cross games, cross players. Nothing to broken (cmv makers pretty much only do cmv’s). But i’d think it’d be neat. certainly something to think about. And I know people have told me that they want to do a combo video. Plus, it could also show our strengths in our games…possibly? At least the ability of our crew to some extent.
I’m also looking into getting a capture device for my computer. pref. one that supports HD (component cables, I think hdmi ones are too expensive right now). This would really help with the quality.
Brent, we could maybe do a webcam/skype interview with him if you really wanted to.

Also, just remembered, need to get some Jackie Chan, Windjammers, and Lars v Me in the super broken (Koryu) sf2 when we both play bison and scissor kick.
these could all be in the super video also. Even Garou hahahaha. Alpha 3? Flooding with Ideas. Also got a bunch of random ass fighting games that we can play also.
Spencer - do these Muncie vids feature a Fort Wayne player or two? If so then that seems cool to me. Just not something like 2 Indy players or Paul Nannie vs. an Indy player. Must be Fort Wayne related. I am counting both the out-of-town Dave’s as Fort Wayne too, fyi.

I’ve also decided to have this be a 6 week “season” with it ending on August 7th.
Additionally, I’ve decided on the following point system:
1st place = +4 points
2nd place = +3 points
3rd place = +2 points
4th place = +1 points (Your lucky you are even getting that mind you.)
I thought about doing +5,4,3,2, and 1 to anyone who didn’t make top 4, but won a match, but I decided against it. People only care about top 3 (well, top 8, or even just first/grand finals), but our brackets are really small, so that’s the best I can think of for a fair system that rewards those who do well, while providing nothing but an incentive to do better for those who…don’t do well.

So after checking my super 4 bracket I’m in Pool D. Not too bad I guess. I’ll still lose, but I don’t think I’ll do terrible…I think. I don’t know who is all in my other pools for other games. I’ll predict where I end up overall.
Super: Bottom Half
HDR: Top Half
Marvel: Bottom Half
TvC: Bottom quarter
Now we’ll just have to see where I end up. BTW it looks like Nunes is going so we’ll see how he does in HDR and Marvel. If he can get used to a stick he’ll be top half in marvel and bottom half in HDR me thinks. We’ll see.

Josh - where have you been? Did you change phone #'s or anything? I have tried calling twice (straight to voicemail both times) and texting once this week inviting you to come along to a tournament this Saturday in Cincy. I figured you’d reply quickly either way.
Ive been looking for my cell phone ever since last Monday…ish. I can honestly say I have no idea where it is. I would LIKE to come, just let me check to see if I CAN come and ill let you guys know later today (most likely can).
P.S. If anyone can bring a spare PS3 controller charger, should I come, I would sincerely appreciate it. My damn puppy chewed my own charger into counts 5 pieces, so all I have is a 2-3 foot charger that would not be comfy to play with.

Josh - hey that is good news that you are so close to your license. Better late than never as they say. Anyway, good to hear you are coming along. I am trying to convince Spencer and Clem to come with us but as of right now it’s just you and I. It will be a good time either way. Putt-Putt is a good place to meet, yes. How does leaving at like 9:30 sound? Gives us plenty of time to get there to do whatever we want (practice, chat with old friends, eat lunch, whatever we gotta do before the tourneys start). Well it looks like the odds just weren’t in my favor this time around, I won’t be able to come out. Tim, I was hopin to see you again, it has been quite a while. Brent, I don’t know what you will do without the Super Turbo Jester around to amuse you, but I’m certain that Josh is the next best thing. Was really hoping to get to play some arcade ST with Frank and the rest of the Ohio gang, but I guess that just means I’ll have to wait for the next Arcade Legacy.
