Aight so I was thinking about upcoming tournaments (namely MWC and EVO) and I suppose I should get a headcount on who’s going. I’ll probably register for both by Sunday I think, so if you want to go speak up. I’ve already got the hotel room for Evo. Not a bad deal really if any of you wanted to go.
There is the slight possibility that I may DRIVE to Evo as well. Yes that’s a long ass time in a car. However, if enough people are interested in going, it would cut the costs down of people going dramatically. In that case I’d either take my mom’s Lincoln Navigator so we’d have plenty of room, and places for a TV to go for games and whatnot (I think you could almost fit a 19 inch in that thing). We could also rent an SUV too. Of course if nobody is going, or we can’t get enough to make it worthwhile I’ll probably fly.
Anyways, let me know what the plan is for MWC and EVO, so I know what I’m doing.

I am very interested in going to both. The main thing keeping me from going to evo is the lack of a room down there so count me in. I will help pay of course. If you drive I wouldn’t mind that either just need to know how much time to request off of work.
Man I am interested in seeing what Evo is like. I wouldn’t register in the tournament, but damn if I don’t wanna go to Nevada and see the sights. That sounds like honestly a really awesome experience.
I really want to go to Evo. Even though I likely wouldn’t even compete in a main event XD (who knows i might be decent at SSF4 by then haha)
I really doubt I can afford a plane ticket so I’ll wait to see what you guys do.

You guys seen these unblockable ultra videos? All of a sudden, every projectile character became top tier imo.
Man good games Saturday everyone. I had a lot of fun and i’ll try and get some more saturdays off to come hang with you pimps again. Paul Nannie thanks for the use of the house and everything. Gotta try that Paul-b-que next time.
I’ll never understand how capcom ALWAYS finds a way to miss an unblockable setup in all their games. Seriously…nearly every game after ST. Anyways, Seth now gets practically free ultras off a throw.

Anyways, on to Super. After watching the videos from this weekend I’ve noticed a few things.

There is no way that Dudley will not be tops. In fact he might be close to broken. EX machine gun punch is safe I believe unless you can hit him in the middle of it (which looks like it might be possible). Why they would make a move that was NOT safe in 3rd strike safe in this game baffles me. Add on the fact you can tack extra damage or ultra afterwards on hit means there’s no reason not to try it after a random poke connects. It also might make Dudley too one dimensional. I mean why try for anything else when you have meter? Find the cancel-able poke with the most priority and spam it until it connects and marvel at the damage. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think I am. I do think he’ll have trouble with Guile of all people though so maybe there’s balance.

I hope he doesn’t end up useless but I’ll probably try Dee Jay. He seems aight, although I’m not sure he’ll have an way to connect his ultra safely. He looks faithful to ST though (combo machine, good crossup, fast startup on his fireball, etc). I just hope he has a way to use one of his ultras without blindly throwing it out. Otherwise it’s Ken all over again.

I’m sure you’ve heard Brent but Vega’s U1 hits on the way up pre flash. Looks like he might be headed in a good direction compared to Vanilla 4. With that, the overhead, and the stupid not losing mask like every two seconds thing, he might be ok now. I wonder if they gave him a better hitbox for his cr. fierce or flipkicks? That would pretty much solve all of his problems. I always say that Vega is either near the top tier, or near the bottom tier so we’ll see.
I heard chun was supposed to be the best but then I saw the ridiculous scaling on her new ultra. Durlath in LA told me they’ve known for a bit that Dudley was best since Seth has had a build in his house for awhile and after the Wong vid it’s a given. I think as long as a super good character is hard to master (like Eddie) then it will hinder a mass of average players from jumping on that character. A powerful character should be complex to balance him out at least.
Yeah, I was kind of disappointed when I saw that when you actually did a long combo into her ultra it did next to nothing. I figured I’d give Dee Jay and Makoto a try, I seem to like Juri more and more every time I see her now. We’ll se where it goes though.
