Nova/Task/Akuma is the better team I think. You can actually raw tag Taskmaster after an air throw, webswing into tatsu to pick up for unscaled damage. You can also do it with Sentinel, but it isn’t meter positive.
Yo marvelo good shit at SBA you did your thing out there. The nova corps are proud!
Yeah man, a ton of the Nova primes all made it to top 16. Myself, Infrit, Moonz, and Taekua all did a ton of work. Also, Tayson, but he plays Nova anchor. #Novaisthebest
Real talk, when I saw the archive you posted from Florida’s monday gatherings against Green Ace, Ryan Hunter, etc and how you were playing I knew you could do well. Glad to see you show off your stuff at SB, was a lot of fun to watch! Should come to UFGT this year ;).
Thanks man, I appreciate it. SFL is a pretty small scene, but all of us are incredibly good. I’m just fortunate to be part of a strong community. Flocker, Green Ace, Tayson, Ryan, Flash, Mikeyboi, Pain, and Graph are pretty much all at top player status. I’ll be sure to go to UFGT!
I’m jealous; Chicago’s got talent but the whole suburb VS city thing fragments the scene in terms of seeing the better players regularly. And even then I’m still the best Nova in the region, so it’d be nice to play one that’s better than mine to learn a thing or two. Was a -blast- having Flocker out here last year (and I bet he’d say the same, UFGT is a well-run tournament) and it’d be awesome to see more of that Florida talent!
Yeah! The problem with Florida is the same. Everyone is very far apart. Just to get to Flocker’s neck of the woods is about 40 minutes in car. We still manage to play together once every week or two. And Yeah man, i’m going to UFGT for sure. I wanted to go this year, but I didn’t have the funds in time.
My e peen.
This is probably a stupidly obvious team idea, but Nova-b/Doom-a/Ammy-b? I want to learn this team but Nova makes no sense to me lol
That team is actually pretty strong. Both beam and Missiles help Nova a fair amount (and so does cold star), you have good and safe DHCs all around and Doom/Ammy make for an awesome shell for the simple reason of the Shuffle THC
Yeah, I’m really enjoying this team already. I’ve used Cold Star for a while now, but I realized that Gravimetric Pulse covers the assist’s biggest weakness by keeping Ammy from being hit during an incoming mixup. If you’ve watched MarlinPie go for an unblockable on someone good but mess up the spacing slightly, they always kick the dog and get out of dodge. This happened to me a lot when playing Felicia on point. Grav Pulse stops that against most characters really well.
Oh, and this dude really does hit like an adult male individual doesn’t he? Hahaha
hmm. So guys, I’ve been working on some other things for Nova and I found out something many people don’t know. Gravemetric Pulse M actually has some pretty decent uses. It’s a decent antiair since Nova’s hitbox isn’t extended from it and if you have at least lvl 2 red life, it causes a soft knockdown, so from various heights of hitting it, you can confirm a st.L. Works very well characters that like to come down from that certain angle. IE: Trish’s j.S or divekick gets completely stuffed by it and allows you to confirm. I’ll try and make a video this week detailing what I mean.
NEVER thought of doing this…NICE.
Does it work against the footdive?
Footdive eats projectiles so nope…wait…were u being funny? lmao
I think this is an end game Nova team. I play it sometimes and it’s ridiculous; possibly his best team. I think I’m going to start counter picking with this team over my Taskmaster one but I’m not sure. Still have loyalties to Task.
Gravimetric Pulse medium is my stuff! It has so much range it looks like it doesn’t have. One of my favorite uses for it are Dante players using air play alot (I think that’s what it’s called?). You can slide under using crouching B and anti air with gravimetric pulse medium. Works good on some up back characters with options (Wesker, Haggar, Wolverine) when you’re trying to hit them low.
Funny, I was actually doing some labwork with Grav M a few days ago myself. The 15 frame startup forces you to be a little more proactive than reactive with, but the -15 active frames-, which is huge, compensate for that. It’d actually probably beat foot dive too, because it’s 3 frames x 5 durability when it has red health. With red health is beats buster and can usually combo off Zero afterwards so that’s a huge help as well. Most of the characters who are primarily airborne (which includes a nice chunk of the top tier) it’s a nice tool to start incorporating. That said, if they’re covered by a horizontal assist (arrows, beams, etc) it usually won’t nullify that as well (which sucks 'cause it has the durability, just not the hitbox).
Yeah, i decided my Nova/Frank team wasn’t cutting it anymore and wanted a Nova team instead of a Frank team, sat and tried to theory my way into the optimal Nova team and this is exactly what i came up with.
I recently got back into fighters and I have been using Nova/Wesker/Hawkeye
Lately I’ve switched Hawkeye with Nova for a better DHC to be able to get a kill from a Nova combo.
Is it better to have Nova DHC into Wesker or Hawkeye? Should I consider replacing Hawkeye with Task and have Wesker as the anchor or even task?
